Made famous for its “hills alive with the sound of music”, Salzburg is a very pretty town filled with romantic buildings and squares. If you are not yet aware that Mozart was born here, then you will be as soon as you land at Salzburg W.A. Mozart
International Airport. Further your education about this musical prodigy at his actual birthplace, Mozarts Geburtshaus.
The city is the namesake of the Salzach River which runs through it, and alongside this beautiful river lays the Schloss Mirabell, one of the many impressive castles within the city limits. Schloss Mirabell and Hellbrunn with their picturesque gardens, beautiful galleries and impressive halls make the ideal spot for a picnic during summer.
The white-stone Hohensalzburg fortress is perched upon a green hill and offers magnificent views over the city. Or, you can escape it all in the Kapuzinerberg forest, which offers splendid Alpine vistas- a reminder of Salzburg’s natural beauty.
The shopping centre focuses around Alter Markt Square and Getreidegasse, the latter is a quirky street with old-fashioned signs indicating what each store sells. With 125 hotels and guesthouses available on Booking.com, your stay in Salzburg is bound to be as pleasant as this city is pretty.
The most wonderful little jewel.
Such a pretty town with so much to explore but all fairly compact.
Loved the river trip. Loved the lift up to the top of the Munchsburg, the beautiful walks and the great little cafe at the top.
Loved the Hohensalzburg fortress and all the history.
Loved the Mozart concert in the Mirabell palace.
Loved the buildings, the river, the shops, the cafes and restaurants.
Will recommend to everyone

Salzburg is nice place to visit and its location is between wonderful cities which can be easily reached either by car, buses or train during your stay at Salzburg.
1. Hallstatt is one of the best places ( almost 1 hour and 10 minutes by car).
2. Zell am see / Kaprun (1:36 hrs by train or car).

Magical place, both the nature, its landscape, the architecture of the city, its history, nearby villages like Hallstat, etc. Definitely a place to visit!!! And of course there are plenty of tours, including a half day tour on The Sound of Music which is worth every penny!
This is a nice apartment complex with very modern facilities. We had superior 2 room apartment with Kitchen. The facilities were very clean and comfortable and quite specious. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The apartment is about 15 mins walk from the Mirabell Palace. There is a very convenient bus stop right in front of the hotel and the bus routes 1,2 and 23 takes you to the old town. The Salzburg main railway station is about 5 min walk.
There is an excellent Italian restaurant around the corner.
It's absolutely worth it's money. It isn't a luxury boutique or something but for the price offered it worth 100%. Room spacious, bed is comfortable. It's clean in the room and in a bathroom.
We had very nice breakfast: yogurt, eggs with bacon, pastries, ham, cheese, juice, coffee. Don't expect a wide variety as in a big hotels, but it really nice, tasty and worth it's money.
We do recommend and if it comes to visit Salzburg again we'll stay here again with pleasure.
Location is superior. Customer service was fantastic- reception helped with maps- the salzburg card- calling a cab for me in the morning to the train station (which was only at 12 euro ride and they drop you off/pick you up right by the hotel) The room was very quiet and there was AC ;) Vending machine with wine/snacks in the basement is a good bonus if you feel like having a glass after hours in your room.
The location is very close to train station which was a plus. There are public transport bus stops right around the hotel so it was easy to travel. In addition the rooms were comfortable and value priced compared to the rooms in the old town. The food options around are limited so best to eat in old town or in the restaurant on site. There were vending machines with beer and water which was great
The staff were so friendly, warm and helpful. They were happy to answer any questions I had about salzburg and gave me some good tips for my time there. The bed was super comfortable and the room and hotel was extremely clean. I felt very safe as a solo traveller staying here. The location is brilliant and within walking distance of cafes, restaurants and the old town.
Overall, I had a great stay at this hotel. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the train station and a few minutes from the Old Town. The hotel was comfortable, centrally located, and inviting, with a family-friendly atmosphere. The staff was particularly friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when I return to Salzburg.
This hotel has a good location. You can walk to the old town following the river and it takes about 15-20 minutes. It is only a few hundred yards away from Salzburg’s central train/bus station. Breakfast was great and the man serving was the friendliest person you will likely meet. It is staff like him that can really add to the experience of your stay.
Rooms were clean and comfortable but a little small, as expected of European hotels. Breakfast spread had a good variety and delicious coffee. The hotel is located within 2 minutes walk to the Salzburg old town, and 10 minutes walk to the river, which is the part of the old town where you can find the famous Mozart house and Mozart statue.
Good location, Salzburg is a small city, so you can walk to most places by foot. Breakfast was decent. Bed was good. Staff was friendly. Hotel only accept cards, if you have already made withdraw of cash from ATM you will not be able to pay here. Very cosy bar/"restaurant". Free water and fruit, mainly apples.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody staying in the beautiful city of Salzburg. It is very central to the Old Town & staff were all lovely. Special thanks to the man working afternoons/evenings- he was particularly kind & helpful with our requests.
The location was perfect for sightseeing. The food and service at the restaurant was excellent. The staff was helpful, friendly, and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this to anyone looking for a great hotel in Salzburg.
Amazing hotel, close to the old town of Salzburg. Only a 10minute walk to the old town. Hotel was clean and comfortable. I love that is dog friendly. Perfect breakfast, a lot of choice - everyone can find something for themselves - even champagne.
Location and amenities available at hotel. Hotel opened the week prior to our stay and we impressed with the helpful, friendly staff combined with the comfortable and beautiful room. Will definitely stay again if we return to Salzburg.
A very neat, clean, no-frills hotel in a good location (easy walking distance to both the train station and the city centre). Salzburg can be such an expensive city to visit so this is a great option if you want to save some money.
LOCATION and PRICE POINT! There are a few hotels in old town Salzburg. Elefant is on par with the others, but at a cost point that's far cheaper. We love this hotel.
Very good hotel for transiting Austria or for a visit to Salzburg and Tirol area. The stuff was very friendly. We liked very much the contactless check-in.
