c-hotels Ambasciatori, hotel in Florence

The Ambasciatori is an elegant hotel next to Santa Maria Novella Church in Florence's historic centre, 10 minutes' walk from the Cathedral. Its soundproofed rooms offer air conditioning and free...

We liked everything: 1. The hotel is placed right next to the train station, which is extremely convenient. 3 min walk - and we were there. 2. In spite of being next to the train station, we did not feel it at all. Close the window, and you forget about trains and crowds. 3. Extremely clean room. Spotless. 4. Very comfortable bed. We love firm mattresses,so we were very pleasantly surprised. 5. Great breakfast with a good variety of options. If you want more, you have just ask. The staff is great. Viktoryia and Claudia were both very helpful. We had a very tasty cappuccino brought to us with some special cakes. Just what we need! 6. The hotel is very close to the historical center as well. Literally, 5 min walk - and we were in the Santa Maria Novella cathedral. 10 min more - and we are enjoying the great Duomo. Very convenient. 7. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks to all exceptional hotel staff. Definitely will be back and recommend the hotel to all our friends.

We loved that you can walk everywhere easily and there is so much to do and see. They have great museums, shopping, etc. and the food is phenomenal & well priced. The uneven pavement and small sidewalks makes it a bit difficult. You definitely need comfortable walking shoes.

I was here for 10 days in April.

I was here for 10 days in April. I saw all the major sights and yet the list of places to see that I haven't visited is longer than the list of those I have. There is so much to see and do! Take a walking tour when you first arrive to get oriented. The guides are knowledgeable and must be licensed. Then make a list of must-sees dependent on your interests. I strongly recommend booking a skip the line guided tour or at least tickets, or you'll be standing in long lines and not have time to see as much. I averaged about 12,000 steps a day, but I love to walk. If you are here long enough, book a tour of Siena or a wine tasting tour. Just be aware that the countryside is hilly and you must be able to walk up stairs and up and down steep streets. In Florence I loved the Bargello and Orsanmichele because they were much less crowded. The Uffizi is amazing, but be prepared for crowds of people. Try to go to the Duomo piazza before 8 am to see it without the crowd. Have a coffee and enjoy the quiet there, as well as at the Uffizi and along the Arno. You can get pics without a gazillion people in them. Sign up for a cooking class, learn to make pasta, bruschetta and tiramisu! Be sure you go to the Mercado Centrale. Wander through the shops on the ground floor and smell and taste the cheeses. Then go upstairs for breakfast or lunch. Don't miss the churches- Santa Maria Novella, Santa Croce, Santa Spiritu, and San Lorenzo are all worth your while. Don't miss the Riccardi-Medici palace. And that just scratches the surface. Pick a different piazza each evening for an apperitvo or a glass of Prosecco. Keep your ears open for the bells and for random street performers, you may hear opera singing, violin, accordion. All wonderful. Eat at Zaza's and try the Riboletto, the Tuscan soup.

Just beautiful. Lived up to expectations.

Just beautiful. Lived up to expectations. Good decision landing at Florence airport. Quick tram ride into central Florence. All sights walkable although beware of cobbles. Crowded around Duomo. Don’t bother queuing to get views from bell tower or dome . Santa Croce more interesting .Rather go to Piazza Michelangelo on the other side of the Arno.for views Food wonderful ,even in the most modest restaurant. Go to Central Market for lunchtime snack. Highly recommend Perche No for heavenly gelato. For modern take on Tuscan cuisine: Ristorante Brandolino in San Lorenzo area. Book early tickets for Uffizi and Acedemia.

Beautiful city and easy to walk everywhere.

Beautiful city and easy to walk everywhere. Best to book galleries etc in advance to save queuing up. My favourite was the Pitti Palace and Boboli and Bardini gardens. The Bardini garden has a cafe with a terrace with a great view but it was very busy at lunchtime and we couldn't get food as they had got too far behind with orders but great for a drink. San Spirito over the river has a great square with restaurants and cheaper than centre of Florence. The Gilli cafe in the centre has a great buzz about it, fab cocktails and great for people watching

So adorable! This hotel is fairly on the new side and has a chic/modern feel to it. The layout seemed to be well thought through and it has been beautifully decorated. My room was just enough space for one person. The location is far enough away from all the noise but close enough to quickly get to the action. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast at the hotel was #1 compared to the other hotels I stayed in during my time in Italy. I would definitely return for another stay here if I am ever back in Florence.

From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. The staff went above and beyond what is required from them. They were so helpful and kind. The apartment was immaculate and beautiful and one of the best stays we have had in Italy. It really felt like home from home - even better I would say. I could not fault it, and will look forward to coming back again soon as we have fallen in love with Florence. Many Thanks for such a momentous stay, we couldn't have asked for more. Amazing location, and the the apartment had everything we expected and more. We stayed at multiple expensive hotels while in Italy, and this was the only apartment. And this one is the one everyone in the family remembers. We had the 2 bedroom deluxe apartment. Everything was perfect. Washer worked well, all required supplies were provided and space was enormous. The only tip I have: don't forget to return the room cards. We kept one by mistake and apparently they need it. Mailed it back to them.

Our stay at Eliana’s was a great finale to our Italy trip. She prepared dinner for us in her garden. Romantic, relaxing, so delicious! We felt like we had a personal chef! She is a great hostess, treats you like family. It’s obvious she loves what she does. The room was spacious for a couple, very comfortable and clean. Air conditioning too. She fed us breakfast and brought us to the airport the next morning. We were well taken care of! So much better than a hotel! Highly recommend!

The location was excellent, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room and all of the common areas were cleaned to an outstanding level every day. When you book 1st class in trains, you often need hard copies printed to show your reservation. I would receive the email from Rail Europe and forward it to the hotel and the staff immediately printed it for me. The front desk staff and the maid who cleans the building makes this a desirable place to stay in the city of Florence Italy.

We chose this hotel for it's location away from the historic center of Florence and for the facilities. It was a great decision. The staff were all extremely polite and helpful and the facility lived up to the pictures (for a change!) which included a wonderful breakfast each morning. 20 minutes walk to the Florence's main attractions, was a lovely way to start each day. Overall a wonderful week in Florence and our best holiday in Italy to date.

This was one of the best places at which we stayed in Italy over 7 weeks, and we stayed in some great places. The design, the bed and linen, the bathroom and great shower, so much room to move, and a kitchen with everything. The communication was fantastic, with Daniel, Erika, and Letizia in touch often to make sure we were fine. Close enough to the sights but far enough away to avoid the hordes. Great value also for Florence.

I can say that from all the different hotels in several cities that we visited, this was our favorite place to stay in. Nice bonus was streaming Tv so you could watch Netflix at night after a long day rather than just Italian tv . It was an extra touch not experienced at other Italian hotels visited. Location location location! Literally 30m from one of the main piazza’s, perfect location to explore Florence central. Beautiful cosy appt, very clean and tidy. Great communication leading up to the stay and recommendations for parking which helped immensely. Best place I stayed in Italy on my trip.

The apartment and building are spectacular. The renovation and interior touches are a cut above any place I’ve stayed in Italy. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience except perhaps for some more dish towels in the kitchen! I would stay here again in a heartbeat when in Florence.

The hotel was amazing and had an amazing view on the hills of Florence. The ideal place to relax and enjoy the calmness of italy. The room was cozy and clean but the highlight was the employers who helped us with anything we needed. I hope we can visit again
