A nice place to visit but full of tourists. The nature around is beautiful and you can visit some of the attractions but expect a lot of people.
You can find anything from beaches to forests, all in a 15-minute drive.
The roads are narrow and it's hard to park.

There are many historical places in Sintra that can be reached on foot. if you go to the right of the historical museum you can find a small restaurant on the balcony where they bake bread in a wood-fired oven. unfortunately I forgot the name, but you can see the sign. Very charming.
And visit Long Beach and the restaurant near the rock and try octopus on the grill. Very recommended.

The roads are very tight, the crowds of visitors are intense and some of the locals working in local shops/restaurants are very rude and completely over having to deal with tourists. However, the views are amazing and the Moorish Castle was very cool. Difficult place to travel but worth it!

Sintra was a lovely town but I like Aveiro better especially the hotel we stayed in. The hike to the palace is not that hard. Proper hiking shoes and clothes should be worn. It is not a stroll through a park. You will be climbing up and down narrow stairs. Bring water.
The palace is beautiful!.

Very touristy and difficult to manage with a car. Quite pricy. Good food at Tascantiga though.
Pena palace was too busy to enjoy properly though the Moorish castle was great. Shame didn't have enough time to visit Quinta da Regaleira.

really beautiful city. if you have time, you can spend up to 5 days with enough interesting sightseeing to visit. the traffic is heavy so I recommend to take buses or walking because uber/bolts can take too long to arrive where you are.
the best was a hiking from Sinta Palace to the historical center, really nice views
The hotel property is lovely. You drive in through a gate (that's closed at night) into a beautifully treed courtyard area where parking is located. There are several historic buildings housing the bedrooms, a separate building containing the breakfast room, a pool with a large seating area as well as several smaller patios. The grounds are well tended and there were still some flowers in bloom in October. Hotel staff were helpful and recommended a very good restaurant nearby, which we appreciated after a long flight to Portugal.
everything about the place is great, the bungalows are wonderful, good design, very aesthetic, the facilities are the best we had anywhere in Portugal. Also the children were so happy - the pool, the sports room, volleyball and tennis court, 3 minutes to the cliffs above the beach, great hiking areas, or just short wonderful walks around the beautiful villages and beaches, small cute adventure park attached to the premises (but not noisy). Great for al ages. Clean rooms, good breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff.
Gisselle was amazing and welcomed our family with the best hospitality. We enjoyed going to the sister hotel and watching peacocks dance to Fado. The breakfast spread was lovely. The decor was so beautiful. The rooms were lush and we had everything we needed and more. The hotel is in the heart of Sintra and near the train station so everything was convenient. The best restaurant in town across the street. We had a fabulous time staying her. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you so much!!!
Comfortable rooms though a little smaller than some hotels but with ample closet space. Very close to tram and bus to Macais beach. A vigorous hour hike up the hill to Moorish Castle. Breakfast of ham/cheese sandwiches and yogurt with fruit. Walking distance to the train station to Lisbon. Many restaurants in the area though some close early. Honesty bar of alcohol and drinks linked to room. Helpful staff. Easy after hours check in. Overall, awesome stay. Would recommend.
Perhaps the most beautifully and tastefully decorated residence we experienced during our two weeks in Portugal. After 5 years of renovation,Villa Bela Vista reopened in January. It is magnificent. Bedrooms face north with expansive views of the Palacio Nacional and surrounding countryside of Sintra. Aménities and furnishing are of the highest quality throughout. Lovely breakfast of fresh fruits, cheese, meat, jam, rolls and delectable croissants.
We spent our last night of more than thirty in Portugal here. were welcomed in the warmest fashion. We had take away and were set a table in the restaurant, allowed to stay at the hotel after our check-out. The location and design are superb, the hop on hop off bus stops right outside the gate, there was parking and the pool was quiet and huge.
We wish we had more time to sit in the garden and watch the clouds. Will definitely come back again.
Everything about this guest house experience was incredible. I really really enjoyed my stay, I felt so much at home with my room and the comfiness of the bed and the cleanliness and the breakfast WAS SO EXCELLENT. Seriously recommend and it was so much nicer than the boutique hotels that my other friends stayed at! Don't debate on another place just pick this one!!! :) :)
This boutique hotel is amazing. The view is the best in Sintra. The bed was so comfortable, the room spotlessly clean, large fluffy towels, very hot water for a shower, quiet, and delicious breakfast. Alexandra was a wonderful host. We were celebrating an event and Alexandra delivered a bottle of Vinho Verde with strawberries to our room which was a lovely added touch.
Continental breakfast is included at their restaurant a block away. We found their restaurant upon leaving the train station (didn't realize it was affiliated with the hotel) and the breakfast was excellent - probably the best while in Portugal. The two bedroom duplex apartment had a large patio with stunning views of Sintra - absolutely beautiful views.
You cant ask for more as the location is the best. It is all walking distance to the train and bus station, eateries and tourist destinations. Diego is also helpful, friendly and accommodating. You get the best value of your money. I will stay again if ever i come back to Portugal to visit.
I loved the whole town of Sintra and it is worth the over night stay (versus a day trip from Lisbon). The hotel staff was great with my 3 year old son and the view from the restaurant was amazing. We had a balcony and it was big enough for the three of us to comfortably lounge on.
Best breakfast in Portugal, a buffet just for us with homemade products prepared by the friendly owner. Jams, olive oil, tea,... can also be purchased as a souvenir. Beautiful view from the terrace! Good location to explore Sintra's palaces or cabo da roca.
Very good looking and comfy boutique hotel.
The staff were super friendly and helpful , special thanks to Pedro , he helped us with our heavy luggages
The location is great, close to all the palaces and parks
The breakfast was amazing, simple and tasty
Jorge was a great guy. Very comfortable bed in a cozy room. Zero traffic noise outside! Felt like staying in a real old Portuguese house with character and history, not a spiffy boutique hotel. Very safe neighborhood.
Charming old world hotel, simple and beautiful, lovely staff and excellent location for Sintra attractions. View to the Moors’ Castle from the terrace!
Reception and breakfast very decent.
This was the best property we stayed at during our stay in Portugal. The host was very hospitable. Breakfast was great, the beds were comfortable and it was very cozy!
