The way it was no trouble at all to provide me with gluten/dairy products for breakfast, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Was greeted warmly and the accommodation was lovely, it certainly was a treat for my birthday.

Only Problem is the parking. The main car park at the rear is supposed to be for residents but other diners use it and we could not park when we arrived and it was later a bit tight for getting in and out, There is an unmade road outside the pub which is very limited

A real seaside gem.
A real seaside gem. Plenty of pubs (but they do get busy in the season) shops and a long beach with a pier. The afternoon tea at the Swan I would declare the best I've ever had. The adnams brewery and distillary tours are worth doing if of interest. A place of charm, pleasent walks, slowly drunk coffees and letting the world slow down a bit.

We were out of season and some cafes closed at 3pm which we weren’t expecting but several restaurants, pubs and cafes in the town centre.
The pier arcade was open and you could have a tour of the lighthouse plus the brewery.
We walked to Walberswick (no ferry available until April) and some nice cafes there too!
Lovely sandy beach and lots of nice fish dishes to eat along with many different Adnams beverages!

It was a great place to visit.
It was a great place to visit. Southwold in it self is quite small. There were a number of different jobs and local landmarks to visit which we enjoyed. Car parking prices were reasonable. Despite some places were closed, we still made the most of it and enjoyed our visit. There were definitely sufficient food places to choose from which were quite happy with. The shops were varied between local shops and bigger branded shops. The landmarks we visited were good too. You could probably see most of Southwold within a day. If everything was open and it was in the summer time, you would probably need more than a day to visit every inch of Southwold.

Never stayed in the Blyth Hotel before so was pleased to find it was dog friendly. The breakfast was good, the fish pie was lovely and it felt very relaxed and informal. Room felt uncluttered but warm and cosy,
We usually stay in The Swan but they don't take dogs. Also the reception staff were unhelpful when trying to book afternoon tea for one of our days, saying the kitchen would be closed. Walking past the kitchen looked pretty much open judging by the number of people that were in there. Make your own conclusions on that one but I doubt they will have much of our custom in the future.
Also try the Sole Bay Inn, dog friendly and good beer and food - you can't book in advance for grub. Bear in mind this is Feb so the Pier was completely closed until the season opens.

Southwold is lovely and picturesque, atmosphere is like going back in time. All the shops and staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We stayed and ate in the crown, highly recommended. We also ate at Coasters which again was perfect and highly recommended. You can walk around Southwold, no need for transport. Lovely, welcoming town with plenty to do in the winter months. The beach walk we took was peaceful and relaxing. We felt completely relaxed and rejuvenated upon our return home. Advice is to book your evening meals before you arrive, we witnessed many people not being able to book tables obviously because everyone wants to eat in the lovely hotels and restaurants, there is also a lovely fish and chip shop who cook to order should you not be able to book a table so no one goes hungry. Lunchtime is an ideal time to visit the many bakers to have a cuppa and lovely fresh snacks. The Sailors library is a must visit

Very nice small town on the coast. Very nice beach.
Very nice small town on the coast. Very nice beach. Lots of small local shops with wide selection of products and very good prices. Nice beach and good selection of restaurants and eating/snacking establishments. Local brewery has great selection of local craft beers in all establishments.
Great communication prior to arrival -parked up early.
Large bathroom and comfy beds.
The hotel garden with plentiful seating and good parking facilities.
The well trained, friendly waiting and reception staff - a credit to to the hotel.
The restaurant evening food was excellent and really good value. Loved the black pudding for breakfast too!
The hotel location as only a short walk into town and seafront .
Having a bar on the premises was an added bonus as not many places to have a drink in the evenings in Southwold.
Location was excellent, close to the town and seafront. Breakfast was good and they were happy to add or take items off for you. Hotel has changed hands since our last stay and the new owners are slowly making their mark on it. Restaurant has a fairly limited menu but portions were good and very well cooked and presented. The bar has a good range of drinks with local brewery, Adams, featuring heavily. Our room was huge with two armchairs and plenty of space.
Good Breakfast choice served well. The room was spacious and clean with all the amenities. Dinner used local products and was well served. The hotel had character and was quietly relaxing. The staff were all excellent. It had parking facilities off road and was ideally situated in the centre of town. The prices were reasonable and the wine and drinks menu suited all tastes.
After an initial confusion about which door to get in (we realised we were trying to open the cupboard!) we managed to get into the flat, and it was beautiful. Every comfort imaginable. The host was excellent and sorted out a couple of queries immediately even though it was a Saturday night. I would highly recommend the flat, right in the centre of beautiful Southwold.
Firstly all the staff were wonderful. Helpful, funny and very friendly. Breakfasts were great, good choices and plenty of it. We were a group of ten family members and everyone loved the hotel and staff. Just off the bar was an area with couches where we could all sit together which was wonderful.
We loved the location and The Swan had a reputation for one of the best places to go. The staff were excellent and friendly. The breakfast was super efficient and lovely. The town was a great shopping experience with boutique shops and small shops that are high street chains.
Everything….the cleanliness, location, food were great! Also nice and quiet. However, I didn’t realize we were getting the small room, my reservation led me to believe we had the garden room. But as I mentioned, the more important aspects of the room/hotel were great!
A unique experience.
Huge (and I mean really big) room with comfy beds and luxurious bedding.
Very nice helpful staff.
Fabulous breakfast.
Interesting building - rustic luxury.
Good spot for exploring Suffolk coast by car or bike.
Location is fantastic. Lots more personality than larger hotels. Staff fantastic - special mention to Tom and Shannon - and food delicious! We were in Southwold Friday night to Sunday morning and had all our meals at the Sail Loft
The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Just a bit small but alright for us. Breakfast was very good indeed. Location fabulous right in centre of Southwold.
Everything had been thought of for a wonderful stay at this dog friendly cottage. Warm and comfortable with a great shower and secure garden. Really enjoyed our stay.
Beautifully converted room. With beautiful en suite with bath and shower. Plenty of wood beams, very atmospheric.
Easy to get to Wangford or Southwold for dinner.
Great breakfast and v civilised time 9:30 to 11:00 Great location right on the beach 5 minute walk to Southwold 10-15 minutes to old harbour and Walberswick ferry
Great location right in the centre of Southwold. Very easy check in process and clear instructions. Nice selection of tea and coffee in our room. Comfy bed.
