Surrounded by Lake Geneva and glorious Alpine peaks, tranquil Montreux has enchanted artistes through the ages. Lord Byron was so inspired by the style and setting of waterfront Château de Chillon that he wrote a poem about it. Nowadays it is one of Switzerland’s most popular attractions.
Freddie Mercury also fell in love with Montreux and a lakefront statue in Place du Marché commemorates this former resident in typical pose, with one arm raised to the heavens. Queen fans flock here for the annual Memorial Day, just one musical festival hosted by this town. The most famous is the 2-week Montreux Jazz Festival, held in the Music & Convention Centre.
On the opposite side of town is Audiorama (the Swiss National Audiovisual Museum), near a funicular railway which climbs the hill. Further up the slopes is the family-friendly Rochers-de-Naye ski area, while the Les Pléiades pistes overlook neighbouring Vevey. Down at the quayside wooden chalets house stalls of the annual Christmas market.
Summer activities include boat trips, hiking and the Montreux-Oberland-Bernois narrow gauge railway whose trains allow you to really savour the views…and a nice cup of coffee.
The train station also connects to Geneva, site of the nearest airport, and Booking.com offers luxury hotels, apartments with views and cheap B&Bs nearby.

It's a wonderful small town on the bord of Geneva lake where you can find peace, quiet, meditate and reflect as you wish to find your inner self. It's different from other swiss cities and once you were here might understand why Freddie loved it so much.

Montreux is a wonderful region that one can spend 3-4 days in easily. The lake side views are phenomenal. One can choose from multiple options such as visit vineyards around Vevey, take a train ride from Vevey to Laussane (regional one not the fast trains), explore Chillon castle, do a trip on golden express or glacier express, take a trip to Roches de Nayers and just relax and enjoy scenic beauty of the region. Highly recommended

Montreux is a wonderful location to spend your holiday.
Montreux is a wonderful location to spend your holiday. It has many restaurants to dine at. The view of the lake is stunning. There is plenty of public transport, and with free passes you can travel all around the town. And also there are a couple of free train journeys for you to travel up the mountain side. And should you feel lucky, you can try your luck at the Casino which is just across the road from the Hotel.

Two night/three days in Montreux barely scratched the surface of all the things to see and do. The charm, the location, culture and sheer beauty, especially along the lakefront captured my heart. May it capture yours, too!

Great for using as a base for travelling. Good boat trips on the lake and recommended for the Christmas Market. Riviera card saved some money when travelling with free bus travel between Vevey and Villeneuve along the lakeside.

Wonderful place.
Wonderful place. The city is confined in a narrow region between the lake and steep mountain, but still well organized without mess. There are several parking buildings which was ok during the jazz fest in September. So many wonderful places to visit if you take mountain trains from Montreux.
The Hotel was well situated for access to the amenities of Montreux, the shops, restaurants and walking distance to the Lake & it's shoreline promenade. Opposite the Hotel was a bus stop, 100m to the railway into Montreux or up the mountain to Haut des Caux. The Hotel had a lift which was great after a long day walking in the mountains or along the Lake shore. The jazz festival theme & music memorabilia throughout the Hotel gave the Hotel its own uniqueness. Breakfast though continental style was hearty with choice.
The location is dope !!! it’s one of the hotels just on edge of promenade of Montreux.
in fact the only one with all sides facing lake and also the restaurant on top of promenade and lake.
special kudos to the staff. French hospitality with Swiss flavour can be best.
we also liked the breakfast spread and would highly recommend for those who are food connoisseurs.
Anna from Eurotel helped to reserve the topmost floor for us and also arranged the room for our kid. overall nothing could have been better.
The host, Thomas, was really nice guy. He volunteered some advices how to get around Montreux interesting places, including the seasonal Xmas market. He was really friendly to accomodate our needs and provided assistance to carry our luggages. The B&B were spacious and have dining areas at 2nd and 3rd floor respectively. There are amenities for guests to prepare their own meals. I like the breakfast. The varieties could compete with some hotels, honestly. Definitely a good place to stay.
Charming old villa, rooms had enormous ceilings with large windows, really impressive old style building located in quiet part of montreaux. The family was very impressed.Nice to use the 5 star hotel services across the street if desired. Excellent value. Would definitely stay there again if in the area. Great beds and large room size, clean. Check in across the street, so no one on staff in villa if that bothers some guests?
The hotel was excellent, our room had a balcony overlooking the lake and Montreux. The hotel manager and staff greeted us warmly and very helpful on places to visit and how to use local free buses. Breakfast was exceptional, and evening meal in the restaurant was Michelin standard. A relaxing stay in a beautiful surroundings. The price is reflected in the standard and quality of Swiss life.
We got a free upgrade to a junior sweet as it was free, and it was fantastic! Beautiful balcony and a very classic and overall well maintained hotel. The reception staff were lovely and welcoming and the food in the restaurant was good and well priced (for Switzerland and Montreux). The pool and wellness facilities are a highlight.
A wonderful property in a beautiful location. Close to the center of Montreux and train station accessible by bus in a few minutes. Bus stop right outside the hotel. Staff are extremely professional and helpful at reception and at breakfast! Very spacious well equipped apartments, perfect for families!
The location (to the train station and the lake) are amazing - you are half a block if that from each. Great for the Xmas markets! The apartment is grand and has many beautiful features with wonderful linens and pillows and all the comforts of a 5 star hotel. I loved the views directly onto the lake.
The location was nice very close to the lake. It allows guests to use the facilities provided by the 5 Star hotel opposite the Villa. The sauna, Jacuzzi were really good.
I loved the room, it felt like a palace with antique rooms with ceilings almost ~25 ft above the ground. Loved the experience.
The room was well stocked with toiletries and the double bed was nice and spacious. We had a lovely, large window which provided a view over Montreux. The wall images were a bit weird but Tralala is generally a quirky hotel. The bar/resto is open until 23h and the staff was helpful and kind.
Beautiful hotel with amazing location , view & very central for Montreux. Room was perfect with fine view. Staffs were kind and professional. There was nice places to walk around following the coast of lake. was so hospitable and welcoming.
This is a wonderful hotel that is well located near the lake. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and gave us a lovely welcome. The room was well priced and very comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel if staying in Montreux.
This hotel is exceptional. Everything is amazing at this place. from Room, view, location, service and the people at the reception. Just enjoyed staying at this place. Highly recommend to all people visiting Montreux.
Hotel location is just great ,staff were nice,,I do love the location and if i come back to Montreux i would stay there .
So i really recommend any one like to visit Montreux go to this hotel .
Quaint old hotel with an abundance of charm. We were only there to sleep, less than 12 hours on the premises actually, but it was everything we needed. No frills, but very clean and cozy.
One of the cheapest accommodation in Montreux, in a relatively good location. The bed was also stiff enough compared to the very soft bed of the hotels in Switzerland which I had been to.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Montreux
Fabulous location just a few steps from the Montreux train station. Hotel is on the top of a cliff overlooking the city and the lake below providing postage-card views.
