Spent just one night here while hiking but it was a lovely little town. It was off season (March) but there were still some great restaurants open - would highly recommend Odesos, some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. The surrounding area and coastal hikes are stunning!

The resort however, seems to close down around 2200,. Getting a drink after this time is difficult. That said Im informed its livlier in July / August.

Zambujeira do Mar is a great place for someone looking for peace and quiet. There are some tourists but the town is really small with limited accommodation capacity, so the number of people is not overwhelming. Also, a lot of Portuguese spend their holidays there. There’s a few restaurants to choose from, all quite good. Zambujeira do Mar is a small town, so everything is within a short walk distance. I think there’s no ATM there so it’s good to have some cash (if you like to have it with you).

Three beautiful beaches, but pretty crowded in August.
Three beautiful beaches, but pretty crowded in August. The village is an overnight stay on the Rota Vicentina, Portugal's long-distance coastal footpath, so there are good walking opportunities. On the two nights we were there we ate at Restaurante Rita. The food is good, but its main attraction is the great view of the stunning sunsets. Pretty well everything in the village is within walking distance so find a place to park your car and leave it there! Non-Portuguese should be aware that this is the Atlantic coast. The sea is cold!

In mid June (2019) the town was still very quiet, though most of the restaurants were open for business. When I went to the beach at 10 am i was literally the only person on the beach, despite it being a cloudless sky and warm sunshine. Most of the other visitors to the town seemed to be hikers walking the "Fishermen's Trail".
I only had time for one meal, but I am very happy with my choice. The restaurant called Sol Dourado, Rua da Palmeira, Lote 43. Try the Sopa de Cação (€13.50) - a large serving, probably enough for two people.

A must! Even better than in the photos (if that was possible). Literally one of the best and most beautiful region to visit across the entire country and Herdade do Touril is the perfect place to stay to enjoy it properly. Staff was amazing, incredibly helpful. Breakfast was pretty good. Facilities (room + pool + restaurant) and views are really amazing. They even get you btt bicycles to explore the coast. Head to the nearby beaches and to Cabo Sardão, breathtaking views and amazing, chilled beaches. Couldn't recommend enough!
The space was amazing. It had a lake and pedalos if you wanted to use them. Two swimming pools (outdoor and indoor) and it had a big space for chilling and playing snooker. But the best part was the staff no doubt. They were so welcoming and nice, and even did us favours not included in our room price (washed our clothes, we had a late check out, breakfast options everyday, etc). We are very grateful and we loved our stay with them. Zambujeira do Mar is only a 6min drive from there.
The location is great - beautiful views of the ocean right across the street, easy to walk to town (restaurants, shops, main town beach) or on the path along the cliff, which leads to stairs down to a great beach. The kitchen was well equipped. Apartment is spacious. Although we didn't use them, there were some beach umbrellas and games available, which is very thoughtful. Easy to park on the street across from the apartment.
It's a very nice small hotel in the countryside, with very friendly staff, a pool (too cold for me in November), and some cats walking around. Everything seemed well-maintained. The staff was very helpful with taxi requests, since this place is about 2 km away from the village, and also made it possible to get a breakfast basket on the evening before leaving early the next morning.
My time at Hostel Nature was the highlight of my trip to Portugal. The staff are amazing - they gave great local recommendations, helped me navigate changing covid-19 regulations, and made sure I had a wonderful stay. The hostel is very clean and nice with cozy beds and in an excellent location. I highly recommend Hostel Nature and hope to be back some day!
The space was easily accessible from the main part of town and Rota Vicentina trail, close to good restaurants and coffee. We loved having access to the kettle, and appreciated being able to check out a little later. Our host graciously helped us book a taxi when we were having trouble; we really appreciated this and hope to return!
The place is well located with different room options for different needs. There's a bar and a restaurant near the pool where you can sit and relax. The restaurant had some very nice clams and the food was good with a very helpful staff overall. The pool is really big a great addition. Very good wifi coverage.
Very nice, simple, clean hotel, with very friendly staff. I stayed in a family room, as that was the only one left, which was large - the "kids'" beds, tucked away behind a glass door. Kind of standard three-star hotel breakfast. Walking distance to bars and restaurants and the beach.
The room was spacious. There was a sofa for us to relax after a whole day hiking.
The reception provides water and packed lunch for us to buy.
The location of this hotel was good. It was closed to the town center where you could find restaurants and mini supermarkets.
Host Antonio was very welcoming and informative. Unique, historically significant, secluded property along natural preserve. Great, private location for views of the ocean and hikes along the cliffs of the Fishermen's Trail. Plenty of parking. Beach!
Nice terrace in the back, you can hang you clothes, has some tables, you can use the kitchen which is clean.
Nice location 5 minute walk to the beach.
Cafe just outside the apartment is great for breakfast.
This place is quiet and totally beautiful. Staff were lovely and the swallows circling over the river in the morning were not to be missed. Also very close to beautiful beaches.
Really friendly staff, nice and clean rooms, big beds. Can definitly recommend staying here and also dining in the restaurant where the hotel-lady is the cook!
