Everything was great.
Everything was great. The owners were very welcoming offering us a glass of sherry upon arrival and generously offering us extra food (fruit and crackers) to take when we were leaving. Very nice people.

Sam and Rich could not have been more welcoming.
Sam and Rich could not have been more welcoming.
They did so much to insure our comfort, from stocking the refrigerator to providing an electric mattress pad (sheer bliss!). The bed and pillows were very comfortable and cozy. It is a lovely property with a beautiful view. We would not hesitate to stay there again or recommended to anyone.

I wasn't there long enough to do as much exploring as I would have liked. The castle was very interesting wandering in and around there. If I had more time I would have liked to explore more of the town.

We went to see the Christmas lights.
We went to see the Christmas lights. The main street is beautiful. Also went to Vila de Natal. If you don't have children with you not really worth the price. Because we spent 2 night we had a day to walk around the outside of the walls also.

We were really looking forward to staying in the castle but...
We were really looking forward to staying in the castle but the room we booked was actually in a building attached to the castle. We were not at all happy with our room which disappointed us but the town inside the walls of the castle was fun to walk around. The restaurant at the hotel was very good with great service. If we were to visit again, which we won't, we would avoid room 002 as it is a bit like a dungeon being the lowest room in the hotel.
Obidos was beautiful. We were underwhelmed with our stay at the Castle. We were in room #103, in the castle. It did not feel like we were staying in a Castle. The restaurant is above the rooms on the first floor, all we could hear was footsteps unril 10:45pm, when they closed and woke up to footsteps just before 7:00am. Save your money and book elsewhere. It was the most expensive room for our 10 day vacation in Portugal and our least favorite. Obidos itself is worth a visit, give yourself about 3-4 hours to get through the town.
A beautiful traditional Casa within the Castelo walls. Bedrooms overlook the narrow cobbled streets, and the garden overlooks all the towns rooftops and the castle walls - amazing views. Lots of character, loads of space with everything you need. The garden is beautiful, spacious and a HUGE win is the swimming pool! Not many properties offer this luxury in Óbidos, much needed during the long sunny & hot days. Location is perfect. Rodriguo was an exceptional host - always on hand to advise! We loved our stay at Casa do Candeeiro.
We loved everything about it. this home has been refurbished from the f
ground up by Francisco, the owner. We were in Portugal for 9 days, and this was by far our best night. The personal
touches of snacks and treats, along with a recommendation for an amazing meal at Jamon Jamon really elevated the stay. Do yourself a favor and stay here! the hosts are incredibly attentive, welcoming, and kind. The home will feel like your own home away from home, just steps from medieval castle walls.
This delightful hotel is located within the Óbidos historic Castle walls and perfectly placed to visit this lovely town. The quirky spacious rooms were clean ,the bed was very comfortable and the bath a pleasure to use after spending a number of nights in hotels with showers only .
The town has lots of good restaurants and bars , tourist and craft shops so gets very busy during the day but late afternoon when the tourists leave the town quietens down and becomes yours to savour.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The property is very beautiful has a lot of character and perfectly located right outside the wall. What an amazing bed and breakfast experience....Many of their decorations are hundreds year-old. The host is really sweet/kind/ and informative. Homemade breakfast by Ana was amazing. We love her lemon curd so much. Obidos itself is lovely. It's by far one of our most favorite towns that we visited in Portugal so far.
Perfect location inside the walls of the castle. Lovely little B&B! The rooms are small, but the hotel has so much character and charm that you really don’t mind it. The walk from the recommended parking lot was very easy, although I wouldn’t recommend rolling your bags through the streets. The check in was fairly straight forward and the instructions were easy to follow.
Obidos was a nice town to rest up in after 14 hour plane trip and having to a two hour drive in Portugal for the first time. We looked forward to a tourist town with lots of eating, sighting, and eating options and got it. Eating a bit out from the very center of town, based on waiter's recommendations, allowed us to eat with more locals and have very good food.
Great location, just outside the castle wall. Nice hotel, in medieval theme, which is everywhere; lobby, room, everywhere.
The parking spaces in the enclosed garage are very convenient, but somewhat difficult to reach in the tiny streets. Very helpful, friendly staff. Excellent pool with magnificent view.
Breakfast included with a lot of choice.
Nice new hotel in a walking distance from the old town. There are two large grocery stores nearby. There is free parking just in front of the hotel. There is no personnel in the hotel, access is via code. There is a common space for sitting and having food with a fridge, microwave and a coffee machine.
we liked the location of the hotel, a couple of minutes walk to the gate of the castle/historic area. the terrace was a very beautiful place to sit and relax and enjoy the amazing views all around. owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming. the place is nice and cozy. bed was comfortable.
Everything was perfect! From friendly host to cozy and cute house. Every room was very clean, it had everything we needed and bars were very comfortable. Location is also nice, near Óbidos and neighborhood was quiet. It was definitely the best accommodation we had in Portugal!
Hospitable host couple, long historic residence conveniently located a few steps away from antient city wall entrance. There are two parking spaces in front of property. Great experience of traditional Obidos resident living. Good breakfast in an old fashion settings.
A liitle appartement/house just 2 minutes walk from the old town. When tou get out from the door and look up you have the view on the castle.
Easy check in. Smooth exchanges with the owner.
An affordable place to have the chance to visit Obidos.
A charming old house located very close to the castle and inside the town walls. It has a lovely terrace where you can eat breakfast. Good value if you consider the inflated prices of most things in Óbidos. Comfy beds and friendly staff.
Charming and comfortable bed and breakfast located right inside the walls of Obidos. Cecilia and Gilberto are wonderful hosts. This was our favorite stay in Portugal, and we wish we could have stayed longer than two nights.
