Loved everything but thought the shower room let it down.
Shower that didn’t spray out and was difficult to get the right temperature, basin that did not have hot water at all and found when showering floor was slightly slippy!

Early on the day of check-in, the landlord sent a message with the door code, thanking me for allowing me to check in early at 12:00.
The space is more comfortable than in the photo. Very nice and pleasant stay!
Especially bicycles give me convenience everywhere to explore.
The morning light from the balcony in the morning was very beautiful.

Giethoorn is the Venice of the Netherlands, it’s beautiful even though the weather was not brilliant during our stay but the place is amazing and I can imagine will be packed come Summer. We went during the Easter long weekend and still enjoyed the place.
Will definitely go back again ☺️

1. It's perfect to stay 1 or 2 nights and explore this place deeply.
2. Over 2 nights would be too much I think.
3. It's so nice to walk around not just in the center, of course with nice weather is important.
4. It's great to have 2hr boat ride with great weather, was so comfortable and the guide was so great.

Giethoorn is one of many places nicknamed Northern Venice and the resemblance with its canals is definitely there. But the nickname almost doesn't do the town its justice. It has a lot more natural scenery to offer and is much more peaceful. A great destination for someone who is for instance cycling through the country.

This a very nice and special area, it worth walking and taking a boat trip. We were there at the end of the summer in mid September, it was not too crowded. I think it is nice in the winter also, they said that the canals usually frozen and ice-skating is possible.

A great place to visit however the weather plays a key role on how much you will enjoy. Never visit this place if it raining.
Good time to spend 1 day around the water ways.
Great cycling track and prefer to rent a bycyle to visit nearby villages which are equally beautiful.

Our journey to the beautiful village "Giethoorn" was a pleasant one. The scenic beauty on the way was mesmerizing, and we could not wait to explore the village. As we arrived, we were welcomed by the warm and friendly locals and the Hostel we stayed in.
The village was indeed beautiful and had a serene environment that was perfect for a relaxing family atmosphere. The lush greenery and the calmness of the place were truly rejuvenating along with the long water tunnels. We wished we could stay longer and soak in the tranquility of the village.
The kitchen was well stocked and regularly cleaned. Checkin staff very nice and multilingual, and the location was great for us! Smit Giethoorn restaurant is just across the canal for great dinner and boat/kayak rentals. Nearby are bike rental businesses too. Don't miss out on the sunrise in the country lane behind the hostel! Breakfast was punctual and decent coffee.
Overall we loved our stay here but in future we will bring more friends who do not snore so we can fill a room and sleep through the night!
The breakfast was simply perfect - it included a delicious assortment of fresh fruit, yogurt, sandwiches, and coffee that were just the right start to my day. But what really made my stay special was the hotel's unbeatable location - I was able to easily embark on a picturesque circle around Giethoorn right from the hotel. It was truly a unique and unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful getaway.
Very nice hotel in a spectacular little village. We enjoyed the room and the freshly set individualised breakfast in the morning. Each guest could order the evening before, what they would like to eat and at what time m, which was a great idea. Very friendly owner. Great location and the posibility to rent an electric boat made this stay perfect for us. Highly recommended!
Breakfast was fantastic. Hosts were super friendly and welcoming, and the room was very cozy. It is a bit far from the touristic part of Giethoorn, but no problem by bike or car. Some steep stairs that we needed to carry the dog, when coming down, but they warned us by message beforehand. A pity we only stayed one night, 2 or 3 would be perfect on such a nice place.
Perfect quiet and magic place. Deers and ducks show up (almost) on yr doorstep in morning and evening. The national parc Weerribben as yr backyard and the boats pass through the canal next to yrr terrace On walking distance of Giethoorn village. (Dutch Venice) Magic views at sunrise...
Marijke is very friendly, good service and clean place.
perfect location, just 10 min. walk into the most pictures town of Giethoorn. Big modern room, very friendly owner, and good breakfast. We rented a boat to take a ticky tour into the village which was also a high light.
perfect stay we can recomend it to anyone.
B&B Villa Giethoorn was in the heart of Giethoorn! It was easily accessible from the bus and had great views from the room and sitting room. The bathroom was exceptional! Our hosts kept us updated and had little extras to make our stay comfortable..
Everything was great: the staff, the welcome coffee and tea, the room with nice shower and bath, nice breakfast included and also the fact you can rent boats from them and go directly to the Giethoorn village and lakes for a cheaper price.
This is a very small hotel, really more like a hostel. The rooms are confy but very small.
The restaurant is actually quite good and the only one open after 20:00.
Breakfast is quite basic and comparable to rest of Holland.
Good location near to our boat rental. Within walking distance to a good restaurant. By a canal and mostly quiet. Good breakfast buffet with many good choices included.
