Tübingen is a historical university town near the edge of the Schwäbische Alb (a low range of forested hills). The old town is delightful, with numerous pubs, restaurants, and individual shops and boutiques (very few chains). Be sure to take a guided boat trip on the Neckar river!

Tübingen is one of my favorite cities.

Tübingen is one of my favorite cities. It's walkable, has lots of good restaurants, and lots of character. Eating out can be pricey, but there are lots of places to get groceries, or fruit and sandwiches during the day, and places in town and along the river to picnic. Best things to do include enjoying a favorite beverage in the square in front of the Rathaus, walking in the Schönbuch Nature Reserve, or a side trip/hike to the village of Bebenhausen and its medieval monastery-turned-royal hunting lodge. If you like boats, you can also rent a variety of them to explore the Neckar river, which runs through the town.

Tübingen is a beautiful little town about an hour south of Stuttgart. It has one of the most extensive and beautiful Old Towns in the area. There is a large variety of shops and eateries, including a good selection for vegan and vegetarian individuals. There are natural and historical sights to see in the area. For example, there are paddle boats, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards for rent as well as hiking trails in the area. You might also enjoy some of the castle and museum amenties offered by the university. I would spend at least two days in the area.

We chose Ibis Styles because of its proximity to our son's residence and also to the city center and major locales which are all within walking distance of the property. The construction work going on in front of the hotel was a spoil-sport but the hotel ensured there was no noise in the rooms. The wi-fi and other basic amenities were available and the staff were extremely cordial, however we found that the room lacks a wardrobe and since we stayed for 11 days, it was difficult to manage out of a couple of suitcases in a small room. The food that we ate was excellent (vegan, vegetarian) although there are options to suit every palate.

I loved my short break in Tubingen, and would have loved to stay longer, the place is absolutely beautiful and has a lovely relaxed vibe, loads of beautiful little bakeries and coffee shops and some lovely restaurants. The bus and train service is excellent for exploring other cities and tourist attractions. Overall, I cant wait to go back.

    The town was lovely.

The town was lovely. What was unexpected was that pretty much everything was closed Christmas Eve day and the day after Christmas (12/26). We were unaware of this tradition and may have planned a bit differently.

Great stay in a beautiful fairytale-like city. Good location, we walked to town, just a 25 minute walk. We spent quite some time in the appartment; it is nice and cosy... The bedroom has blinds, so the room can be made pitch dark: heaven:-). A clear guiding book written by the host was awaiting us on the kitchen table; we went to the suggested restaurant and enjoyed the traditional Schwäbische kitchen. Nespresso pads were made available for us; it's all in the details. If we come back to Tübingen, we'd stay here again!

The staff couldn't be onsite at my late arrival (train delays) but were happy to get on the phone and help me with a key lockbox so I had access. Very accommodating and welcoming. Clean room, nice towels and sheets!, nice double bed, good airflow on a hot stuffy night. The 19 bus takes you direct from Tübingen hbf to Römerstraße, so drops you around the corner. Very convenient to Tübingen and the surrounding areas!

Location was perfect for exploring Tubingen. Easy access to the city as you were right next to the old city. Parking was just behind the Hotel and easy access. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Tubingen is such an interesting city with an old town. Being a university city, it has lots of energy and lots of good restaurants. Do yourself a favor and travel to Tubingen and stay at the Hotel Krone.

The location was great, right at the beginning of the Tuebinger Altstadt. I was starting a bike tour with my son from Tuebingen to Heidelberg (showing him the place I studied quite a while ago). The hotel was very accommodating with parking our bikes inside. We rented the river view suite, which was nicely furnished and equipped. It also was quite spacious.

Because I know the city, I knew that the hotel was a bit far from the city center, but would be easily accessible by bus. It was super-easy to check in, the room was comfy, the wifi good, and the breakfast was exactly what I expected. It's a very typical small-town German B&B. The owner also speaks English, which is probably a bonus for a lot of people.

Our host was simply fabulous! We were greeted earlier than expected because we arrived in Tubingen early. We were given keys and an easy walk through. We were offered help anytime we asked for it. The host was so generous and the place was lovely. Amazing views from the windows, clean air, outdoor seating.

The breakfast was fine - typical German style with bread and cheese/meats/salad plus fruit etc. We are vegan so we made do with bread and jam! The location was fine - it's outside of the old part of the town but within easy walking distance. There is parking on site which is why we choose this hotel.

The personel is very friendly. Breakfast is simple but various enough. The hotel faces the road, so traffic could be quite noisy in some rooms (as in mine), I imagine. The hotel is a nice walk of about 20 mnutes from the center of Tubingen. There is a writing table in a room which is very convinient.
