Santateresa, hotel in Bonifacio

Located on the cliffs of Bonifacio and featuring a sea view, Santateresa is 7 km from Sperone beach. It offers 24-hour reception, free WiFi and air-conditioned rooms in the south of Corsica.

The view from the balcony was absolutely stunning! It was close to walk to the beautiful old town and it is a must to go down the Aragorn stairs. It is a lot of stairs but it is absolutely worth it. World war II bunkers and a fantastic view of the lighthouse is very close to the hotel. Surprisingly easy access by car to the hotel. It is a must to go to Plage petit Sperone. It's a bit tricky to get there but you won't regret it. It is amazing. The Lavezzi islands was also a great experience. Especially the boat trip home where you could view Bonifacio up close.

A very comfortable, clean and pleasant hotel run by an absolutely lovely woman, there are uninterrupted views over the bay. We had an excellent dinner (noticeably popular with locals) and breakfast and nothing was too much trouble for Madame. Very convenient for the picturesque city of Bonifacio with its ferry port for Sardinia (20 min drive).

We only spent a few hours in Bonifacio itself but that was sufficient. The citadel is stunning, perched on the clifftops, but is best seen from outside if honest. We did not take a boat trip as they seemed excessively expensive and we were disappointed by the high cost of parking. But if you drive 5 minutes outside of the town, heading west, there is free parking on the road with a stunning walk across the cliffs to the town and citadel. This is, in fact, the best way to see the gravity defying town, balanced precariously on the edge of the cliffs.

The citadel and its surrounds gave plenty of exploration and shopping options. The port is also lovely to get boat trips, food and shop. There was plenty of choice of eating out places in both areas and two little basic supermarkets in the citadel and a large one at the port. The whole place is easy to get around but if you are not good at walking up and down stairs or slopes you can get the petit train at 6 euros a pop from the port to the citadel and back - All the group boat trips were fabulous with three price options to choose from 18 to 37 euro. I was there in early October and the weather was perfect in mid 20’s - still a lot of tourists around so quite busy but not totally seething. I don’t think I would go in high season. I had a memorable week all round. Loved it and stayed 3 extra days. It does help if you have a little French as not much is translated to English.

The views and hikes are magnificent here.

The views and hikes are magnificent here. I would not want to come with kids or babies, as the omnipresent cobblestones, stairs and huge hills make for difficult transportation of little feet or strollers. It's not such a beach town, as the beach in the city was closed due to falling rocks and the next one nearby was a 5K hike through rocky conditions and sun (with unparalleled views of the sea cliffs). It's a good basis for beaches however, if you have a car and leave in the morning.

Bonifacio is probably the most beautiful city in Corsica.

Bonifacio is probably the most beautiful city in Corsica. Old town is very well preserved and less crowded vs others. Nature is amazing, incredible beaches and the views are just breathtaking. Plus, you can easily go for a day trip to Sardinia, so it's like having a 2in1 location. FOOD: highly recommend L'Archivolto (local cuisine), but you need a reservation or come around 9 and wait until a table gets free. Also try Ciccio and La Cabane du Pecheur.

Citadella is beatiful, but the amount of people inside was not controlled. Too many people and the safety distance was not working (Corona). Wearing mask was not a must , Too many small shops for tourists. It worth going there, but information in advance is advisable,

I have been staying here for 12 days and was travelling around by car. Assume Bonifacio is just a perfect location to discover the South of Corsica and it may give additional benefits at warm season in terms of sea. I have enjoyed it's quietness and sites in winter. It was just a little tricky to find a meal. The town itself and the surroundings may be covered in 2-3 days. In case some spare time is left, Sardinia is very easy to reach.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and it was perfect for us with our two children. Nice private space with private terrace and kitchenette and easy access to the pool, which the kids loved. We were met with enthusiasm at reception and shown the best beaches to visit on a map. The hotel is just 5 mins drive from Bonifacio and within 20 mins drive of all of the beautiful beaches so well situated. Hotel cats were also a bonus for the kids! Hard to fault our stay, would highly recommended.

The hotel is across the bay from the main street in town which means the views are wonderful of the harbor, fort and town. Room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. There is a swimming pool which we did not use (lack of time) but looked like a nice area to relax. Breakfast was good value for money and again we could look out and enjoy the views. Staff were friendly and helpful. About a 10-15 minute easy walk from the ferry terminal.

The hotel and grounds were lovely. A bit out of town, but not too far if you have a car and kind of felt like a little retreat. Also, there were two separate restaurants at the beach, which was just a 5 min walk down the road. The pool area and grounds were very pretty and peaceful. The staff was extremely accommodating and went out of their way to be helpful.
