Nice style of hotel. Room had a view of mountains but was close to train tracks. Food in dining room was quite nice and reasonable value for money.

Our stay was perfect ...the hotel is a lovely hotel full of character and with an immediate warmth and homely feel.
We had a room for 3 so our son could join us . The beds were very comfortable and everything spotlessly clean. The room had a view onto the lake with a small balcony and it was amazing seeing this every morning.. magic with the lights at night. Despite this very quiet .
Breakfast was plentiful and excellent and dinner too...The set menu changed every evening and was very good indeed The entire staff made it all so special. We were greeted so warmly every evening and we all loved every moment of our stay.
We will certainly return..a memorable stay thank you to everyone at the hotel for making it so wonderful

Great location, across the street from the ferry terminal to the islands. We had 3 balconies off our room all having amazing views. Close to shopping and restaurants. A very picturesque town right on the water. However most restaurants were closed in February, the shops were closed on Monday and there was very little to do except take the ferry to Isola Pescatore and Isola Madre. After travelling further around the Lake I would stay next time at Arona. Much busier little town with lots of restaurants and shops open. As well as being on the Lake.

Nice atmosphere and charming town center. One of the best gelaterias !!! Great restaurants and nice to just hang out.
The Borromean Islands and the hermitage Santa Caterina are great places to visit - or you can go to the other side of the lake, even the Swiss part
Overall, people are very friendly

Proximity to the lake was excellent.
Proximity to the lake was excellent. Majority of restaurants very good, some pricier than others of course but several with sensible prices. The food on the whole was excellent and plenty of it. The owners of the restaurants and their staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. the fish featured prominently on all the menus and was excellent and fresh.

Not very much to do historically - BUT wonderful for restaurants, ice cream shops, views of the lake. A really good centre for a holiday on Lake Maggiore. Great to be able to go from there by boat to the islands very conveniently. There is also a railway station which is very handy.

The people are really friendly and not at all pushy.
The people are really friendly and not at all pushy. It feels peaceful and happy. All of the food we had was excellent. The ice cream is amazing, the tiramisu I had even had sponge in it (not all the outlets do have this). The boat trips are very good and run on time. We did the three island trip and loved it. Also there is a Cliff side monastery Santa Christina (may have spelt that wrong) it’s had a varied life but is in use now and is well worth the trip.
- Great location, 2 min walk to Stresa city centre and with beautiful lake view. Very convenient and large parking available, free of charge.
- The pool is just amazing, new and modern, great music and good service. You just want to spend your whole vacation there.
- Staff is top notch, they are clearly well trained and know how to do their job (which is something I rarely find when I travel across Italy (I’m Italian)).
It’s a proper 4-star hotel (I would rate the service and the pool as 5-star)
It was a lovely place to stay if you want to feel like you have been transported to 1920!Beautiful hotel! We had a lovely view of the lake from our room, very small shower(in the bath shower),within walking distance to the ferry landing and old town square.Could not get a table for dinner during our stay, but the breakfast was nice.Pool area also nice and the lunch we had there was good.Parking on the premise..great because parking is a problem in Stresa..Bed was nice and big..we had a good sleep.
This was a last minute booking and the hotel exceeded our expectations. The breakfast and the dinner were exceptional. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was superb. One simply has to walk down the street towards the lake in order to take a ferry to the various islands. We had a room with a balcony looking towards Lake Maggiore and the view was wonderful. The pool is absolutely gorgeous! We did not use it but if we had stayed longer we definitely would have.
The hotel is very lovely, all details are well thought through. The location was very good for us too, very close to the boats, and we also enjoyed a 15 minutes walk to the center of the Stresa along the lake too. Beautiful.
I liked the breakfast area, beautiful garden, pool, bar area on the balcony, excellent views from the roof, very friendly and attentive staff. I would say it is a good find, we enjoyed staying in the hotel Royal very much! Thank you!
The property is well located and very comfortable. Its a very short distance to the lake and ferry stop. The piazza is adjacent with a great assortment of restaurants. Giovanni the owner lives close and is very helpful . The property is VERY quiet so it made for great sleeping despite being close to the piazza. Stresa is a great base for Lake Maggiore, day trip to Milan and the Maggiore Express day trip too. And it’s a lovely town too!
Beautiful, well-appointed Boutique Hotel located directly on the lake offering rooms with panoramic views. A Perfect Gem!! The Hotel serves breakfast and afternoon cocktails/snacks on their rooftop offering 180° Lake views!! So lucky there was availability for our stay. It is such a rarity to experience an entire group of incredible and genuinely caring staff working together. Everyone has been so helpful, professional, and wonderful.
Friendly helpful staff, hotel in a fantastic location with easy access to Stresa main square and water taxis to the Borromean Islands. Hotel is beautiful in furnishings with ornate ceilings and chandeliers, a small bar, lounge for residents and a breakfast room with views of Lake Maggiore.. Our garden room had a modern walk in shower, balcony overlooking the garden and modernised double or triple glazed windows.
Our room was located to the side of the hotel with a south westerly view across Lake Maggiore, absolutely stunning. The breakfast was continental style with a wide selection to choose from and to suit every taste - I loved it. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel is around a 20 minute walk from Stresa town centre however it was a pleasure to walk to take in the views of the lake all the way in.
Right in the middle of town, not too loud, and a great central location to everything Stresa has to offer. The hostess Patrizia was incredibly hospitable and very helpful with any questions we had. She gave us many excellent recommendations for food, activities and was very pleasant to deal with. Highly recommended her to anyone looking for a great get away. Will absolutely be returning in the future.
The hotel is in an old building right in the middle of Stresa. Even though it overlooks the street, we couldn’t hear any noise through the night and the shutters kept the sunlight out in the morning. It’s a very short walk from Stresa pier for the ferry. The reception is actually in the restaurant but the staff were very friendly and able to balance our requests.
Even the mountain view was beautiful. Listening to the church bells ring in the morning from the cozy balcony was priceless! The pool was amazing. All the staff was friendly and everything was very clean. The water promenade was right across the street and so nice to walk along. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a wonderful experience in Stresa!
Small hotel, conveniently located steps from the center of Stresa and the ferry docks . Hotel is very well maintained and has wonderful views of Lake Maggiore. It is spotless and in wonderful condition. The Manager and Staff are excellent and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have a good stay .
We like everything: facilities, staff, food, spa, pool. Absolutely amasing place. We stayed at lakeview room. The view was breathtaking. The breakfast was fantastic. The spa is a world class with inside pool difficult to describe. The food was very good, like it should be in a 5 star hotel. The property is majestic.
Super nice big room, fully renovated and very clean.
Daniella, the lady in the hotel was so helpful and so friendly and polite. One of the best locations in Stresa with a great lake view. View from terrace was amazing.
Rest of the staff very polite with us.
This is my first 10!!!!! comment.
What a wonderful surprise to arrive at such a beautiful hotel. Everything was perfect and the views and breakfast were beyond amazing! The Skytop lounge was a wonderful experience to just relax after a busy day of walking and sightseeing. This may be the best part of our trip!
Place was amazing, clean, modern and an excellent location. Best of all is the owner. He was warm and welcoming and very attentive. We had an amazing stay and hope to return again. Stresa is gorgeous.
The hotel is perfectly situated, just in the central place of Stresa, and less than 5 minutes walk from the Ferry station.
The room is confortable and we appreciated the breakfast buffet.
An old-fashioned hotel in the best sense of the term. I had a tiny but well designed room with a view of the lake. The breakfast buffet is lavish. The hotel is at the very heart of Stresa.
