The visit was principally in order to visit the Gem Stone market but there are plenty more places to see. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is well worth a visit. A number of Temples are there too.

Going through the Taksin shipyard and reviewing things there. Has character and some past history I am sure. We ate at the resort because they order whatever you want and their family brings it in for you at anytime. Breakfast was exceptional, a mix of european and thai and fitted our family. We went to the National Park, which was close, to see the waterfall. Ha ha ha ha, climbed up many steps and there it was, a little trickle of water falling down a hill....ha ha ha ha. Would not recommend this tourist attraction. Of course, I have been to real waterfalls, and so maybe that has something to do with my remarks.

We give 5 stars for excellent cleanliness, functionality and reception. There is a breakfast buffet for 100THB with a choice of Western or Thai dishes. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable.
