The hotel enjoys a fantastic location allowing guests to easily access the royal mile, taxis, buses, and also attractions in the New City. We had a Royal Mile facing room which is great for the view, and can be noisy at times, but not intrusively so. The shower in the bath is not ideal, and consideration should be given to shower only/ bath only rooms. I would prefer shower only rooms, not in a bath, but a separate shower cubicle. Living in South Africa, the fare offered for breakfast at the hotel is not really worth the spend, and grabbing a quick bite at one of the several establishments in the vicinity of the hotel is recommended.
Overlooking Carlton Hill, Princes Street Gardens and Waverley Station, the 4-star Scotsman Hotel was originally built in 1905. This majestic, listed building was once The Scotsman newspaper.

A Feast for the Senses
A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.
The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.
Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.
For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.
Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

We go to Edinbugh regularly from North Wales to visit the art galleries and walk around the city centre. It is a very beautiful place, very compact and easy to walk around. People are friendly and there are some great eating places. We never go near London any more as we much prefer to visit our Cletic cousins North of the border.

Edinburgh Castle was so incredible the view the number of Guides and their knowledge. Everyone in the city was welcoming and patient. The highlight for me was St.Giles Cathedral. Even the teenage boys were overwhelmed by the size and beauty. It’s a must! There were street performers and folks promoting an Owl Rehab Center the owls were so huge and you could hold them. The good was standard and usually cafeteria style. Always found a pretty good Espresso. I missed Market Day and I missed Hollyrood which was closed for a Royal Visit

We stayed two nights in Edinburgh and were able to see various things such as climbing Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh Castle, Saint Giles Cathedral, Calton Hill, Royal Mile and visited various pubs and restaurants. A little more time might have been nice, however leaving that for next time. The city was full of life and the sun and warmth had people enjoying being outside. People from all parts of the world can be found in the city - quite wonderful. As to Edinburgh Castle, if you like castles it may be worth the visit but it was inundated with tourists and there was a long line-up to see the royal jewels (outside the building) which we did not partake in. Interesting historically but nothing terribly special to see is our thinking.

An easy tram ride to the accommodation from the airport, a 15 min walk from last stop to accommodation. Plenty of cafes for breakfast and an easy journey into city centre. Lovely highly recommended tallest vertical distillery in the world nearby with stunning views!
We had a brilliant stay in Edinburgh, the hotel were brilliant. We were surprized by the size of the room, as we expected something smaller. The bathroom was a really good size with all the necessary toiletries.
The staff was brilliant, very helpful, they kept our luggage both on the day or arrival and departure.
The hotel is right in the centre, 1 minute walk to the royal mile. It is a brilliant location if you want to explore Edinburgh city centre.
We really enjoyed our stay and we will be going back again.
The hotel was extremely comfy and relax to stay in Edinburgh, the staffs were so friendly and nice.
Don't be hesitated of the location, there is a bus station near to the hotel and easy to reach to the city centre.
We made a change of date arrival at last minute, but the staff took us request, so lucky and so happy to extend one more day there, thanks for all.
The scotland full breakfast has improved a little bit but tasty as local as can be.
We had a fantastic stay in this apartment with or two children. It was spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, including tea and coffee etc. The bathroom is very modern, with a really nice shower. Best of all it is in a great location, just off the Royal Mile in the Old Town and really close to Edinburgh Waverley station and lots of sights such as the National Museum of Scotland and Edinburgh Castle.
Liam the deputy manager was like a little oracle! Amazingly helpful, friendly and so knowledgeable on everything to do with the hotel and Edinburgh. Super sized beds that are comfy and all the staff including the housekeeping, went over and above to make you feel welcome. The welcome drinks on arrival are a lovely touch too. Taxi's regularly stop outside making it easy to get into the city centre. Great restaurants nearby too.
Clean hotel, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The bed was big and comfortable and the room was a decent size. A breakfast is available for £13 per person and it is definitely worth it to pay for it. The hotel is located outside of Edinburgh but just a few minutes walk away is a bus stop with buses running every other minute into the city centre.
The location on the Royal Mile was perfect for walking to the Military Tattoo and Fringe Festival shows. Also very convenient to the castle, St. Giles, the National Museum of Scotland and everything else in Old Town. We also liked hotel because it had a small kitchen, and plenty of outlets for drying your hair and putting on makeup near a mirror.
Everything! Great location, tram right outside of hotel with easy access to Edinburgh city centre and lovely restaurants/bars/coffee shops in Leith for the evening and a morning walk.
Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Great breakfast included.
Comfortable room and bed, very quiet.
Extremely good value for money!
Well-located hotel, between Haymarket and Edinburgh City Centre. Clean, functional room. Quiet accommodation and a nice view of the city, albeit from a modest distance. The exterior looks tired, but it seems part of the hotel at least has been renovated internally and there are nice grounds around the hotel.
Ten Hill Place was a convenient and comfortable location from which to explore Old Town Edinburgh. It is close to Waverly Station, the Royal Mile and our favorite for this trip, the National Museum of Scotland. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, and the hotel restaurant provided excellent breakfasts.
Excellent location noy to far from city centre very clean hotel staff were really helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you room was fantastic would definitely book this hotel again if I was doing another overnight stay in Edinburgh been in a few hotels in Edinburgh and this was one of the best
Big spacious room, considering a single. Central to Edinburgh City centre. Could walk to Royal Mile, castle etc. The restaurant was across the road , for breakfast. Rabbles is excellent quality food, and friendly polite service. They serve meals all day/evening. I got 20%off meals for being at the hotel.
Location was excellent. In new town but close to old town so you can enjoy all of Edinburgh. Apartments were roomy and we'll equipped. Check in and out was easy. Staff was very responsive. We had an issue with the clothes washer that was quickly addressed. Really appreciated the quick response.
It’s the best location in Edinburgh for easy access to the train station (just across the street), Old Town and New Town. It’s about as central as you can get. The room was clean, modern and had everything we needed. The Passcode made it easy so we didn’t forget a key ever.
I’ve used this hotel so many times of the past 3 years for work, and also with family. It’s not far from Edinburgh City Centre and having the use of the Swimming Pool/Gym is a nice extra.
Lovely boutique hotel. Friendly Concierge. Gorgeous walk into the New and Old Town area. Had some sights to see as well close by to the hotel, like the Botanical Gardens and Dean Village.
The view of Edinburgh’s Old Town and the Castle from our rooms was stunning! The hotel’s location in Princes Street was spot on for its easy access to lots of sites and activities.
Hotel is in a good location with parking facilities and easy access to Edinburgh City Centre. Breakfast good. Rooms bigger than most city centre hotels.
