Known for its international diplomacy, Geneva is the gateway city to the Swiss Alps and contains many international organisations that lend the lake-side city a cosmopolitan flair. It is filled with the best in cuisine, diverse languages and people, and top 5-star hotels.
It's easy to fly in to Geneva Airport, and like the rest of Switzerland, the public transport system is incredibly efficient. And the antique shops and steep, cobbled streets of the Old Town can be explored by foot or bicycle.
Many of the sights are monumental buildings such as the St Pierre Cathedral, but you can escape the chilly winters inside museums and galleries displaying everything from the Renaissance to the Contemporary.
Even if getting out into the wilderness of the Swiss Alps isn’t an option, there’s plenty of nature accessible within the city limits. Parc des Bastions offers tree-lined walks and a game of giant chess and Parc de la Grange is a green space situated on the Lake Geneva promenade. Jet d'Eau, a 140-metre high fountain in the centre of Lake Geneva is beautifully lit at night.
With over 90 hotels available, Booking.com ensures that whether you are travelling for business or pleasure you can experience the best accommodations Geneva has to offer.

We needed to stay in Geneva as we had a flight departing from Geneva on Sunday morning but next time, we might just stay in Lausanne or a more beautiful city and take an early train to the Geneva airport. No need to stay in Geneva - not much to see there and it's not as pretty as the Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen area where we spent most of our time.

The boat tour around the lake is a great way to start to get to know the city for our 24 hour stay. On Saturday morning, as our time was limited we took advantage of an uber to get us to the area of the Red Cross Museum (which we did not visit ) and the United Nations which was not open for tours, but still great to see. We then took another uber back to the center of the city to enjoy lunch and a little bit more sightseeing before we had to leave that afternoon.

Really beautiful city and nice to walk around the old town.
Really beautiful city and nice to walk around the old town. Lots of things to see and do around the lake i.e. Ferris wheel, swimming spots etc.
Found Geneva much more expensive than other cities visited on the same trip so would factor that in to any plans to go there again.

One night is generally enough.
One night is generally enough. Our main interest was the CERN laboratory, which is easily reachable by tram, with travel passes included in the hotel room price. We also had time for a leisurely boat tour of the lake and a visit to the archaelogical site, though we didn't visit the museums, which are also siad to be very good.

It is a quite small city that you can walk almost everywhere historical or popular. public transportation is easy to use and you can go almost everywhere with it. there are nice restaurants and galleries to visit and some museums. if you want to get away for a long weekend and spend quite time Geneva is an alternative. Don't forget to visit close towns by the lake both in Geneva and France, they are very enjoyable and view worth travelling for one or two hours.
Definitely bother to climb the stairs of the cathedral, the view is mesmerizing.

Very beautiful city, loved the lake and the stroll in the city center. Botanical gardnen is lovely and so is the mini zoo and sites in Bois de Batie. It is quite expensive and while people are lovely, you can run into those weithers who understand English but refuse to speak it I only read about in the reviews of sites in France.
Hotel is basic, clean and simple in good sense , breakfast if bought is about the same as at other hotels I have stayed in Switzerland. It was a night stay before departure to airport which is about 10 minutes by bus. Convenient if you going to airport next morning .
It is about 7 stops - 10 minutes ride by tram to the city central train station also not too far .
I have stayed twice there during my travel ( first day and last ) . On this particular day stuff was really helpful and cool .
Incredibly impressed with this up and coming hotel chain. It's an amazing value. The rooms are top-notch, come with basic kitchen, living area, and extremely comfortable beds and spaces. Oversized across the board, compared with the rest of the hotels on my 10 day trip across Switzerland, and priced to compete with any of them. I will stay at a Fraser Suites ANYWHERE in the world where is can find it moving forward (they are in like 15 major cities across the world)
It was very easy getting to and from the airport. Only a 6 min train and it is free on the public transport card you receive from the hotel as part of your city tax. The hotel and rooms were of very hight standard considering the hotel is 40 years old. It does not feel like that and the interior is more like a 5 star hotel than a 4 star. The staff were all very friendly and provided very good service. I will definitely return next time I am in Geneva.
The beds were very comfortable and we had restful night sleeps. The room was cleaned and there were no stains anywhere in our room. The hotel's location is good as it is near the airport and the bus station, but a bit far from the city center. The room was also very warm, which was needed in the cold of Geneva. Breakfast was good, but not the best. Staff were cooperative and did what we asked for every time.
Overall, this hotel is an excellent value. It is very close to the airport and a short city bus ride to the center of Geneva. The included public transportation tickets were fantastic. The facilities and room were well appointed and extra clean. Staff were quite friendly and very helpful. The included airport shuttle bus was well run and on-time. The on-site restaurant was busy, but we did not eat there.
Great stay, in the city centre, next to the train station, H&M shop, restaurants, 7 min walk to the geneva lake.
Friendly and helpful staff, parking is 3 min walk from the hotel (27 CHF per day but we had some discount card from the hotel and paid 15!).
There are sockets in the room for Europe, UK, US plugs which was useful). Bottle of water, kettle, tea, coffee, hair dryer.
Victorian style I love it so much❤️
Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. Also, staff are very helpful. In city centre, 2mins.in city train and bus stations, you can catch the public trams just outside the hotel which is free of charge. 5-10mins.walk to the lake. Good value for money. I will recommend and would stay again!
First time in Geneva, it’s beautiful🇨🇭
Eastwest hotel is a really nice boutique hotel set in the center of Geneva. You are within a block of the beautiful lake shore, near the Bains des Pâquis and 5 minutes from the train station which takes you anywhere in Switzerland. The hotel was calm and the staff extremely helpful. I will definitely go back there next time I come to Geneva for vacation of business.
Centrally located near the train station and the lake shore. The price was good by Geneva standards. A free public transport pass is provided to all hotel guests in Geneva Canton. This is very useful and allows you to use buses, metro, trams and the water buses on the lake, and even the train back to the airport.
The ambiance in the Edelweiss Manotel is adorable. The rooms are very nice and cozy with beautiful images of Switzerland. The bathrooms are also large. There is a restaurant for breakfast and if you want dinner. It is located quite close to shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, and the train station.
Well located near airport, easy to find shuttle to hotel, and right outside the hotel is a bus stop into central Geneva. Staff were very helpful. Loved the espresso machine in the room. Black out drapes, good bed, just the place to spend a night before connecting to a flight somewhere else.
The bathroom was very clean & designed very nice. I found that the lockers outside the room were very secure & useful. This hostel was the best one I’ve stayed in for the location trendiness & value for money, especially for Switzerland because hotels are very expensive.
Breakfast was so great! We loved it. Its facility was nice and the staff was very kind and friendly. We enjoy the time there. Hotel staff was very nice. We will be back there just before leaving Switzerland and hope to have another good experience.
Excellent hotel centrally located just a few minutes walk from the scenic bridge across Geneva lake. Very clean and modern looking interior. The room was exceptionally clean and convenient, amazing bed with some of the softest pillows and blanket.
Great location by Geneve airport. Somewhat easy to walk to (we arrived when shuttle wasnt running. Room was ready early. Staff was all very friendly. The best/largest towels we had our entire trip to Switzerland. Would definitely recommend.
Very modern and clean all round, there is a bus that arrive basically right outside the hotel. Trams can head toward both airport or the city centre. Only 20 min by walk to airport if needed, so good central location to explore Geneva.
Excellent service of the front desk! The hotel is beautiful, breakfast high quality, amazing bedding and linen. Luxurious and definitely best value for money in Geneva!
The location was good. The hotel is close to the main attractions. The hotel is cheap for Geneva. The room was clean enough - not the best, not the worst.
