Engelberg is a cozy mountain town, entirely surrounded by mountain range. The view of the peaks is breathtaking! Town is quite small, but it has various food and beverage outlets and shops.
There are two areas for alpine ski, which cater to the different tastes. Also, cross-country skiing is rightly accessible from the city center and there is a sport center where skiers can take advantage of changing rooms and lockers. Ice skating ring is also available, along with other interesting activities offered by the ski school.
Buses work excellently so you would not need the car to move around.

Easy access to the village via the train.
Easy access to the village via the train. Average 40cl beer price is CHF6.5. Buy food and drink at COOP as it is the most reasonable cost. Catch the busses to ski lifts as the walk to the lifts are longer then then feel.
Ski both Brunni & Titlis.

2nd visit to Engelberg and certainly not the last..
Perfect central location for dining, shopping and access to lifts…
Steeped in history the Alp apartments , formerly a Farm house with adjacent barn retains its heritage appeal amongst the more recent modern apartment blocks..
Concierge service available via an app provided information on social events and ability to communicate through a direct message platform in case of any issues or additional requests.
A choice of room only for couples or larger self catering apartments means there’s options depending on size of your party.. Good value compared to other pricey offers or private apartments.
There are two well stocked supermarkets within 2 min walk of apartments.
Whilst there’s plenty of choice for eating and drinking out, don’t overlook the Irish pub opposite apartments or the Ski lodge next to the railway station, both offer great food and can be quite lively with both locals and visitors.

Titlis is cold at the top even in Summer (just above freezing), so you need warmer clothes (can be rented at bottom of cable car). We were endlessly jostled by members of Indian coach parties on way up and down - pretty unpleasant. These considerations aside, incredible views to be had. Trubsee - the lake half-way up the mountain - is warm (in Summer), relaxed, with plenty of space: nice place to spend a few hours even if you don't stray too far from the lakeside (we have young children). Food in the town is ridiculously expensive (and we live in Switzerland)...just get your food from the coop and enjoy the mountains!

The town is small and beautifully located in the mountains.
The town is small and beautifully located in the mountains. With a well developed tourism both winter and summer, it’s easy to get around including reaching various mountains with 🚠 cable cars. It doesn’t really matter where you go or which mountain. Everything is absolutely stunning. Even just staying in the little town and watching the mountains with a cup of coffee in your hand would be worth going there.
Amazing staff, one of the most helpful and kind I saw in Switzerland. Great food (evening 4-course menu was a treat!). We got a better room then booked. Perfect location - both for skiing alone, with friends, and for staying with small children (outdoor and indoor attractions for children). We were seriously not expecting this place will be so great. The hotel manager goes above and beyond for every guest. We felt like at home there.
The hotel was very cozy in a perfect location. The view of the room alone is worth staying here instead of the city center! The walk from the train station is only about 15 min and the cable car for the walenpfad hike is just round the corner! The room was much bigger than expected and had all we needed, the breakfast was also very good and varied.
We did not have a local swiss certificate, as ours was not ready yet, so the hotel delivered the breakfast to our room for free. That was nice. Location was perfect, it was just about 3 minute walk from the train station. Room was clean and spacious. It was just the right size for me since I travelled with 2 kids. They needed space to run around.
It was a good experience. The staff were nice and pleasant and the breakfast was really good. Switzerland is very pricey compared to other destinations but this hotel is decent and affordable. It's easy to get around using the public bus which is FREE and the bus stop is located only a few feet away from the hotel.
Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of food. Extremely friendly and helpful staff willing to answer any silly question or request. The spa was very clean and really nice with very good opening hours (pool from 9-22, sauna 16-22). There is a superb child playground just opposite to the hotel main entrance!
Belle Epoque room was good size, great views, proximity to train station ideal. Dyson hair dryer. Bath and shower. All bathroom extras good quality. Mini bar provided, water available. Hotel and rooms very clean. Spa and sauna lovely with great views! Breakfast has lots of choice. Bar had good drinks menu.
Location is very good - not far from Train station and Gondola station to Titlis.
Everything was quite comfortable.
Breakfast is very tasty with local specialities - I like very much home made honey!
And staff in Hotel is very very friendly and make everything with nice attention to the guests.
I am very happy that we chose to stay in this hotel. Our room was very spacious and cozy. What we liked the most is that this hotel has common kitchen for guests, which allowed us to cook some meals and save quite substantial amount of funds, as eating out in Switzerland can be quite expensive.
The property was super clean and well located within Engelberg. We had 2 apartments- a one bedroom and a two bedroom, and both were immaculate. It was around 300m to the supermarket and not too far from the cable car to Brunni. The communication was great.
Nice staff and great location. Also a nice restaurant and amazing breakfast in a beautiful large room. You feel the history of this hotel, as it is one of the oldest. Also the reception was very accommodating when we asked to switch rooms.
Excellent location to visit Engelberg and Mount Titlis. Very helpful and nice staff that helped us with a last minute request about our dog. Very nice a cozy restaurant where you can have dinner and where breakfast is served in the morning.
Charming hotel with nice big rooms, at a great location very close to ski busses, restaurants and the train station.
Breakfast is nice with good variety and local cheeses.
Above all, is the staff extremely service minded and very helpful.
Great atmosphere and design in the hotel. Really classical Swiss Alpstyle. Beds were comfortable and the staff was really nice and helpful. We also had private sauna session in the stylish Wellness area. We loved our stay in the hotel.
Conveniently located - 5 minute walk from Engelberg train station and a 8-minute walk to supermarkets.
The box of chocolate and a bottle of sparking wine was a very nice touch from the host.
My kids (3&5 years old) were really like playroom at hotel. They can spend time for few hours there. Breakfast was great and nice staff. If I have chance, I will go to your hotel again.
amazing hotel with the most kind and professional staff! location was perfect. the view from the room was stunning. breakfast was perfect. not a single bad thing to say.
Perfect location in the heart of Engelberg, short walk from the train station and ski lifts. Nice old building on a pedestrian street, excellent breakfast.
