We spent most of our time walking around the city.
We spent most of our time walking around the city. There are lovely buildings with intricate architecture in places. I would definitely recommend a walk in the Stadtpark. I recommend the climb up to Schlossberg, the view is lovely!
We had a wonderful meal at Restaurant Sclossberg, apart from the food , the view is spectacular.
Another place with even better food is Ginko, where I had the best food in a very long time. It serves vegan and vegetarian food, but I would imagine that everybody will like the delicious food on offer.

Graz is nice, probably a day is enough in the off-season but I expect you'd need 2 days when it's summer time and busier because of queues etc. Buy a 24 or 48 hour pass for Museums is worth the expense.

Ideal for you if you like historic towns with lots of landmarks, local food, some interesting shops, museums, a castle hill with a view. Our fave places were the old quarters, the old department store interior, and the view from its top cafe, the cathedral (heard practising for organ concert!!), beautiful bookshop Morawa with cafe on top, Castle hill...
If walking gets too much, use the funicular to get on castle hill and 24h bus/tram ticket to take you anywhere within city. We tasted Austrian food in Franziskaner Quarter (my fave part), vegetarian food in a more modern cafe and finally we ate at a Greek place (good value for money 20 euros per person).
We would avoid visiting in very cold or very hot weather.

We were there to see family mostly and only there for long weekend but have to say got to see fantastic sights of Graz from walking down little side streets to visiting museums and going up to high places to get a good view of the city. The people and nice too and friendly from the staff at our hotel to stopping in cafes and will always try and help if you need directions. It’s also a clean city as didn’t see much rubbish laying around and best of all it has great links to get around Graz both for sightseeing and if you need to get to airports. The transport links are very punctual and come regularly so no need to rush around
A very nice and clean hotel. The staff was kind and helpful. They gave us a nice room on the quiet side of the street.
Breakfast options were amazing and it included loads of healthy and fresh food as well (which is rare for an Austrian hotel, since they mostly offer eggs, sausages and bread :D ).
Although we had no time to use the mini gym or the rooftop bar, I find it really cool that they have that as well. :)
The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to the old part of the town and the train station.
Anyway, highly recommended.
Breakfast is served in the am between 7 and 11. Although initially it appears a lot of 'food' is available the selection is somewhat minimal. It was also the first time for me to see rolls and breads served out of cooking pots. Austrian customs? Who knows but I found it strange that you have to lift to cooking lids to see what kind of rolls this pot holds. We also had to ask for fresh water which was not readily available. Coffee was offered but when we wanted an expresso we were promptly reminded it will be an extra cost.
The hotel has a nice garage, the lobby is spacious and the room was very big for a hotel room (around 40m2), and clean, with a Nespresso machine inside which is really nice. The beds were big and confortable. The breakfast was good, but the coffee as in many austrian hotel is better to skip. The hotel is in the vicinity of a market with a couple of grocery stores in vicinity. The pedestrian zone (Mariahilfer strasse) starts nearby and will take you to the famous Kunstmuseum.
Stayed in Graz with family, as my daughter was competing in Austrian swimming competition. The apartment is 2 mins walk from the swimming pool. Apartment is excellent, on 2 levels with a beautiful balcony. Access codes were provided and check in was seamless. Staff were very helpful. Apartment is close to a large supermarket and there is a tram station near by for traveling in to Graz Old Town ( 10 mins by tram). Would use it again and would recommend it.
This hotel was very typical of Ibis Budget. The room is relatively small with a private shower and toilet. Every room has a double bed with a single (bunk) bed overhead. Storage space is limited, but the price is hard to beat. The breakfast was the same as any other Ibis Budget, some cold cuts, cheese, bread, fruits, etc. The location is reasonable with a 10-15 minute walk to the main sites. Parking is easy to find directly behind the hotel.
Host was very kind and she warmly welcomed us which made the start of our trip even better! She gave us needed information and was very helpful!Accomodation is very cozy and clean, what made us amazed the most was how peaceful and quiet it was but at the same time the center of Graz was 5 6 minute walk from the acommodation itself
If we come back to Austria again we will surely choose this place again! It was beautiful
I had an amazing experience at this fresh and innovative hotel from the moment I was warmly greeted at Reception to the genuine ‘Come back soon!’ on Departure day. Every need and comfort was anticipated and any requests met with cheerful enthusiasm. I will definitely be staying at this charming boutique hotel during my next trip to Graz!
Absolutely sufficient if you do not plan to stay or relax in your room or just need a place to sleep. Also, all the staff was very friendly and helpful. And this is coming from an Austrian, and I know what a grumpy bunch we can be. Hygiuenically speaking everything was absolutely ok.
Absolutely fabulous!
Everything was new, matched the description.
Room & bathroom was very spacious, and not noisy at all, although the hotel is next to the train station.
Close to the city centre- 20 min walk.
For tipical Austrian dishes Der Steirer is an amazing restaurant
Easy and fast contactless check-in, large free parking, close to the highway, large room, we got free coffee capsules, there is a good Neapolitan pizzeria in the building, all you need for a quick and seamless night stay while traveling by car through Austria.
The room has a luxurious feeling, with very comfortable beds and stylish furniture (the hotel is, after all, in a very upscale style store). Beautiful shower. The location could not be better (easily accessible by public transportation from the train station).
The hotel was great, facilities, the staff, breakfast, all. Recommended 100%. Location was great but we didn't go to the center, only passing by.
They let us know how to do a late checkout and everything was super helpful.
Excellent small touches: great candies and fine water given daily, great decor, fine breakfast. We even used and enjoyed the sauna in the sister hotel since Wiesler’s was under repair.
Self check-in, huge room with private bathroom and kichenette (like a studio flat), excellent wifi, free coffee, parking, close to motorway (A2 Austria).
