Leuven is a great city with a lot of late Gothic architecture. You can see the entire city in a weekend. The top sights were the city hall and the Tafelrond with the Cathedral across from it.
The Begijnhof was actually one of the most beautiful places to walk to and through. So peaceful and beautiful architecture.
The Kruidtuin (botanical gardens) were a huge treat. Free entrance. Even in the winter it was fun to walk around.
M Museum is not that interesting. The collection is very small. It took about 1 hour to see everything.
Leuven is a university city but still has a lot of gastronomy. There are restaurants for every budget. I loved the La Cantina Mexican restaurant. Bar Louis was also awesome for drinks before dinner.
The stores are all closed on Sunday so take that into account when you go. I would definitely go back again sometime. You can walk everywhere.

Beautiful small city, with everything within walking distance. There is a very wide range of eating places both in terms of price and type. The train connections are excellent to other local places, Mechelen was especially attractive.

Beautifull, historic city.
Beautifull, historic city. Splendid townhall, beautifully iluminated before Xmas. Library with great arquitecture and tragic 1st and 2nd World Wars history. Countless cafeterias, restaurants, bars, Xmas market at the Groote Markt. For churches lovers - very interesting places to see.
M Leuven - art museum definately worth seeing. I had the luck to see the exhibition "Dieric Bouts. Creator of Images". Oct23-Jan24. Many events connected with this Leuven citizen and artist of the 15th century.

Leuven is a beautiful town with a lot of old and well...
Leuven is a beautiful town with a lot of old and well restored buildings, plenty of eating places and very lively not the least as a result of the student population which consists of walking and cycling Belgian and International students. Although the weather was quite bad we walked around before going to dinner The area around the Begijnhof makes you feel like you go back in the time.
Another great thing about Leuven is that you can do everything on feet as everything is within walking distance.
Hotel Ladeuze is a nice small hotel that completely met my expectations. The room was small but had everything that I needed. The hotel and the room were clean. The location of the hotel is excellent because it is just a few blocks away from the heart of the city but it's still quiet around the hotel. When I stayed in the hotel, the Leuven Kermis (a local yearly festival) was on the nearby Ladeuzeplein and I still didn't experience any disturbance. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly.
The hotel is located at the centre of Leuven. Central station is at 15-min walking distance away. The connection to Brussels central and the airport are really frequent. The bus stop is 15 m to the left of the hotel. THe town hall and an area with restaurants, cafés are just 5 min away.
The room and the bathroom were big and very clean. The bed was an oversized double bed and the mattress was really comfortable.
Fantastic location in a beautiful old Flemish hotel directly opposite the railway station plaza and a very short distance from the Grote Markt and shopping district. Large comfy rooms and a reasonable breakfast with delicious croissants. Totally ideal for our girls weekend get together as we all had separate rooms with no single supplements at a very reasonable price.
Location in modern building right beside the train station was good. About 20 minutes walk through the very pleasant streets of Leuven to get to the famous Oude Markt square. Room was comfortable and simple. Front desk staff were very helpful with information, booking taxis, bringing towels, etc. Layout of bar and lobby was good - casual and modern.
Nice hotel, near the train station but also not far to the city center (Leuven is not that big city though). Easy check-in and check-out possibility online. Beautiful nice room, excellent breakfast, always a big bottle with fresh water in the room. Belgium in general is very expensive, but this hotel has realy good prices for what you get!
I liked the location cause I traveled for school and it was close to leuven station so that was good. breakfast was okay, just how I expected ibis budget breakfast to be. The staff was nice too, they took my luggage before I checked in and after I checked out, that was amazing cause I didn't want to take my luggage everywhere.
Hotel is walking distance (~10 minutes) from the railway station. Nice, clean room and they provide a common kitchen for the guests to use. There is a bakery on the corner. Since there is a self-check-in and check-out, I didn't meet anyone from the staff.
Hotel in a lovely location, right next to the historical "Groot Begijnhof", an absolute highlight in Leuven and unique heritage site. The staff was very helpful, including to cancel a nonrefundable booking I had accidentally made for the wrong date.
The location right next to the main train station is amazing. I was on a business trip and didn't use any aspects of the hotel. However, the particular aspects I used in the room all worked out well. The wifi was reasonable but not overwhelming.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. The hotel is only a short walk away from the train station and you can easily get to Leuven or Brussels. I also recommend the hotel's restaurant and their huge offer of dishes.
Hotel Industrie is a close 2 minute walk from the railway station and close to many of the other attractions nearby. The property fronts onto the square where there are weekend markets. Restaurants, cafes and grocery stores are close by.
The hotel itself was good great position. Room was well soundproofed even though it was near the railway station.
Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. Staff were friendly. Good air conditioning.
Received a warm welcome and shown my room and facilities.
Had free use of a bicycle during the course of my stay.
Quite location, 35 minute walk, 10 minute ride for Leuven train station.
Great location. 7 min to walk from/to Leuven train station and then less than 30 min to take a train to Brussels. There is a shared kitchen with fridge and free coffee.
