The ancient Etrurian city of Perugia forms a unique and romantic pattern, and is surrounded by green hills. Perugia’s Old Town still houses several hotels and restaurants that are centuries old.
The city has a vibrant cultural life and is home to several important institutions, such as the renowned local university, the University for Foreigners, and other institutes. The International Journalism Festival, the Umbria Jazz, and the Eurochocolate Festival are major annual activities. It is a wonderful historic city. Although it is perched on high ground it is very accessible through public escalators in various parts of the city and with a minimetro from the Perugia station right up to the top at a very small price. Very convenient.

Nice , quaint city, the best was not having many tourists like nearby Assisi. many good restaurants to choose from (old city). being perched on a top of a hill , you need to be prepared to walk/climb quite a bit (but worth the effort)

Historic town with many historic buildings.
Historic town with many historic buildings. Easy to travel by mini metro and rail to Assisi. A shuttle bus operates to take visitors up to the old town. Lots of eating facilities and many restaurants. We used Perugia as a base from which we could visit Assisi.

A very picturesque, historical old town with plenty of cafes and restaurants; Uphill climb into the town centre is massively helped by the open air escalators and elevators; driving in the ZTL (very narrow streets) and parking in the centre is an issue (no possibility to book a parking space in advance) - but it may have been due to the increased inflow of tourists during the Umbria Jazz Festival

Perugia is not only a great city in itself but also a great base to explore the wonders of Umbria and even Tuscany. We had a week there and spent three days in the city itself sight seeing and shopping - highlights included the amazing new gallery, practically empty, the amazing Nobile Collegio del Cambio frescoed by Perugino, the medieval aquaduct that you can walk along and of course the Perugina chocolate factory (reached by Bus A from the Bus or train station if you don't have a car.) We also went on day trips to Gubbio, Lake Trasimeno and Spoleto by bus or train. I will be back as there were many other places that I would like to visit and Perugia makes a convenient hub. We also always found welcoming restaurants to eat in the evening and even got quite a few new clothes.

Perugia is historically one of the most important cities in...
Perugia is historically one of the most important cities in Umbria. Sights are well presented, museums and entrance fees are reasonable, mongo attractions are free. Restaurants OK. During the Umbria Jazz festival, the city is quite crowded, but the city is even more colorful.
The hotel, two floors up, is in a very quiet part of the city centre. Very friendly staff (present at the right times). Clean, renovated room including bathroom, with comfortable beds. We appreciated the presence of a small fridge in the room (provided with natural and sparkling water). With temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, it was nice the room had an air conditioner. In a wider part of the space between the rooms a few tables and chairs, with a nice view over part of the city.
Note: the two long stairs can be a tough climb for some.
Beautiful, modern hotel with a classic, full-service hotel vibe. Cute bar in the lobby. Off-street parking both for check-in and overnight - a huge plus in dense central Perugia. Room was beautifully decorated, great lighting and seating, bed was great, bathroom had a great shower and fun lighting. Location is great - a few steps from the escalators taking you to the ancient core of the city. We really, really liked this hotel!
The hotel is modern with nice rooms and public spaces. The staff was very helpful and patient with our questions. It has a nice parking lot and is super convenient to the highway for touring around Perugia. Indoor swimming pool (5 euros extra + 2.50 for a bathing cap) is really great. Try the hydromassage if you can find the “on” button in the pool. Hotel restaurant is very good with friendly staff.
We were on the roadtrip across Italy and this was the best stay we had. The rooms are beautiful, new, clean, everything you need it’s there, also kitchen in common area is well equipped. Parking in front of the building. Daniela was so kind, the check in was extremely smooth, she helped us how to get into city center etc. We received also small gift. Do yourself a favor and booked this casa :)
The hotel was very nice, in a great location on the main street of Perugia. The hotel has a private parking a couple of blocks away so it was very convenient.
We had a family room with plenty of space for our family of three. Recently painted rooms and modern bathroom.
Breakfast was excellent, in a beautiful room with plenty of options.
Location is very central in old city centre near restaurants etc.
Hotel service was good and they were very helpfull.
Few minutes away there is an escalator that takes you to a Mini Metro station/service which takes you to the train station. From the train station (Perugia station) you can travel around to different locations nearby.
Waking to the extraordinary view, wandering through the gorgeous old town, chatting with welcoming people, good food and wine…who could ask for more?
I love an old fashioned hotel and traditional services all of which Hotel Brufani delivers. I wish the property which is now a bit faded would be better kept as it used to be.
Great small apartment in the Perugia city center. 15 min walk from everywhere you need. The host was extremely polite and helpfull, he waited for us outside with his car to leave us the best parking nearby and asked many times to carry our luggage. He also suggested a great place to eat with a local cuisine!
Staff was nice, agreed to change our first room because it smelled like cigarettes.
The hotel is really ok for its price. Don't expect something luxurious and you will be more than satisfied.
The position is great and it has a nice car parking. Very close to the city centre and central bus station.
The hotel was located next to many of the main places to visit. Everything is within walking distance.Chiara and Anna were very attentive and gave suggestions of place to go visit. Also, during my visit, they were helpful in giving information for alternative transportation (taxi phone number)
Very nice historical property and location. We stayed for 1 night, but you can easily spend more days there. The stuff is very and helpful. We talked to Jane on reception and she guided us very nice about the area, things to do and visit and generally about Italy.
it couldn`t have been any better .... super helpful and friendly staff, a magical little hotel hidden in one of the narrow streets of Perugia a minutes walk from the Palazzo Prioi and cathedral. 24 hour reception,... just great stay
The hotel is well located, near to the historical center of Perugia. It's a nice, quiet hotel. Room was good and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay there and will be happy to come back one day.
Amazing Villa and garden. Elena and her family are very welcoming and helpful. Delicious breakfast. Best place to stay. This is the best B&B we stayed in Italy. We will visit again.
Nice location, close to Perugia (by car), with free parking space and the room was spacious. It seems like an expensive hotel of the past, but it is beginning to show its age.
Downtown old Perugia, an old building with atmosphere, extremely kind and helpful staff, good breakfast, etc. Nearby very good restaurants, recommended by the hotel.
The hotel is out of the city centre, so it was fairly quiet at night. Lots of free parking, a fantastic range of breakfast choices and friendly and helpful staff.
