A luxury, purpose-built resort along the Algarve region coastline offering a variety of accommodation ranging from 5-star hotels to villas and apartments, Vilamoura is the largest complex of its type in Europe. It is conveniently located, 16 km from Albufeira and 25 km from Faro Airport.

Although the area was developed from scratch by the Porto banker Cupertino de Miranda in 1974, its origins date back to Roman times. The Cerro da Vila Museum tells the story of the ancient fishing town, and displays the ruins of the Roman baths from the 1st century.

Love Vilamoura so much to see and do. The Old Village was amazing. All facilities included even several pools. Some enclosed and we had one just up 5 steps from where we were staying. Plenty of choices for food and entertainment.

Beautiful place, fantastic food. Lots of trips you are able to book when you're there like parasailing, fishing, jet skiing, dolphin watching, visit the caves, there's a waterpark nearby, beaches are beautiful and clean. Vilamoura is a nice resort, we had not been there before, most activity at night is centred at the marina, where there are loads of restuarants and bars to suit everyone. Beach was lovely I would go back again, but definitley not to the apartment we stayed in , the apartment itself was fine but not the location or the very old run down building it was in. Great location with fantastic restaurants around the Marina and the streets behind. Easy to walk everywhere, plenty of shops and supermarkets in addition to local businesses. We loved the atmosphere and the warm welcome in bars and restaurants. Weather was constantly warm and sunny, average 26 degrees for 1st 2 weeks in October. Very helpful before we arrived, when we arrived and during our time in the apartment and area. Felt very secure and safe. Used the associated News restaurant as well, which was also very good, great service and excellent food. Vilamoura Marina is a top area with lots of lovely restaurants and great bars. The apartment also had access to a lovely private swimming pool and garden area which overlooked the marina.

The room was great, a minutes walk from the hotel and they left us a lovely surprise as it was our anniversary! As it was out of season, it wasn't too busy but still a bit too cold to use the outdoor pool! The indoor pool was very clean and lovely and warm! The breakfast selection was great, plenty to choose from and service was good! It's about a 5mins taxi ride from the centre and 20-30mins in taxi to the airport so handy enough!

The view from our balcony was second to none, right above the marina. The pool area is one of the best in Vilamoura. A beautiful garden, a tennis court, and two big pools (one for the kids). Staff is nice and attentive. They accommodated our earlier checkin, which was much appreciated. There’s a luggage room where you can drop your bags. The location is awesome. Everything is within walking distance.
