The breakfast was simple but still very tasty. I did wish it was available till 11 or 12 though, rather than 10
Quietly situated in Ilfracombe, the family-run Avoncourt offers a bar and terrace with panoramic views over the seaside resort.

We had a lovely break. Heather, Alison (and her mum) were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. We’ve not been anywhere we felt so comfortable taking our dog. He will be back for his breakfast sausage! In a nice quiet area, slept like logs on the comfortable bed and breakfast was lovely. Short walk to the harbour and if you’re feeling a bit lazy for the walk back, the taxis will take dogs! Highly recommended!

The location and the bedroom was clean and comfortable
Great fish and chip and ice cream shop. Lovely walk up to the hill with fabulous views.
Sadly, lots of shops closed or closed early. Need more interesting shops in the high st. The Nest, florist, chocolate emporium were definitely the best.

Ilfracombe is a lovely place to visit, however please be aware how hilly it is. Walking down to harbour is easy but the return journey can be a bit of a slog.
Had gluten free fish and chips from Lynbay fish and chip shop.
Gluten free cream tea from St James tea garden.
Wasn't overly impressed with the beach as it mainly slate pebbles, but Woolacombe is not far away with golden sands.

Many part of this town including its HIGH STREET are looking terribly run down and rough. So too some pubs ...
I'm sure it will perk up in higher season but money needs to be spent on its appearance .
The streets felt as safe as most places in Britain and some Bistros and cafes were delightful. Roads are narrow and some extremely vertiginous . Parking can be an issue in high season I guess.

Ilfracombe is worth a visit and is probably better in the summer than when we visited. We preferred Woolacombe and Puttsborough beach is great for surfing. We walked around Baggy Point and saw some amazing views. Well worth a visit.

There were some really lovely parts of Ilfracombe and some not so nice , like most towns . Most of the architecture is stunning with old and new together but some new don't fit in. The scenery on the coast is amazing with lots of craggy coves and you can walk along the South West Coast Path . There is a small harbour where a stunning Damien Hirst statue is of Verity ,Statue of Justice if I remember correctly Parts of Ilfracombe are quite steep but there are slopes and some roads on the flat. We ate Sunday lunch at the Thatched Inn , had Breakfast at the Lime Kiln Cafe down by a cove . We loved it.

Lovely rugged coastline all still very natural.
Lovely rugged coastline all still very natural. The town however was a little disappointing in terms of felt a bit run down and lacking in investment in some areas. Worth a visit altho not too long as I think more useful to use as a base to travel than a holiday in as wasn’t enough to offer.
The property is close to the centre of Ilfracombe and to the tunnels beaches, a prominent Ilfracombe landmark. The proprietor Michael is very welcoming, efficient and responsive to any issues - we had to leave one day early and he was very understanding and refunded us without hesitation. An excellent breakfast is supplied, beautifully cooked. A few days ago, in October, parking on the hotel premises was perfect. The room was very clean and tidy with a well presented, and spotless, ensuite, shower, and bath.
On arrival Andrew greeted us, showed us our room and offered us a Devon Tea with scones.
Accomodation, spacious, spotlessly clean. Tasteful decor reflecting the hosts personal touches.
Perfect location to walk to Ilfracombe’s highlights such as the tunnel beaches harbour and high street.
Andrew and Nick are fantastic hosts, nothing too much trouble.
Lovely yummy breakfast.
The Royal Britannia is a great budget hotel.
It's situated right next to the harbour with great views from the terrace.
Our room was very comfortable with a nice en-suite and we slept very well.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had a lovely stay in Ilfracombe and recommend the Royal Britannia Hotel.
We ( a family of seven) have just had a wonderful three nights at Slipway. It is perfectly located to explore Ilfracombe and the wider sights of North Devon. The house is very spacious and very well equipped. The host was easy to communicate with and gave us great advice regarding where we could park etc.
the hotel owners Violet and George were absolutely perfect hosts in every sense, and made us feel immediately at home. Also the whole place was spotlessly clean and tidy, so all in all we had a great experience and would certainly recommend Palm Court hotel to anybody else wanting to visit Ilfracombe.
I liked the location being an easy walk to anywhere; the room was very clean with pleasant decor, and comfortable. I appreciated the fan and small refrigerator in the room. The staff was pleasant and Michael was particularly helpful and welcoming. The hotel was, overall, well kept and comfortable.
Friendly host, welcoming all the way through our stay. Was able to get restaurants and local advice. Very clean B&B, great size room, we had a family room. Breakfast and the choice was lovely and generous.
Great location of North Devon with Ilfracombe just down the road.
Very friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast ordered night before was exceptional, fresh haddock on bed spinach with two perfect poached eggs better than most hotels. Beautiful room good fridge unlimited tea coffee, large car park and view of Ilfracombe.
The property was exceptionally clean which made us feel very relaxed. The sea view from the front room was amazing and unique for the town. It was close to the local shops. Hosts were really friendly and welcoming. Quiet at night, slept very well.
the location is excellent ,, fabulous views from our accommodation , staff were always happy to help in answering questions or recommending places to visit ,there’s a coastal path which takes you over to ilfracombe harbour , Hot tub lovely also .
Staff were friendly.
-We had a toilet leak in our room, this was rectified quickly & we were compensated by having free parking in the hotel car park & we appreciate this very much.
Good location for Ilfracombe beach & high street.
Spotlessly clean apartment and hotel like beds and bedding. New kitchen and bathroom. Lounge and dining area comfortable. Great apartment, can't fault it. Great indoor soft play area. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool.
Beautiful location😍, nice and quiet, next to the harbour. Heated pool was lovely ☺️ very friendly staff especially the man that show us to our caravan and told us everything we needed to know about the park.
charming hotel within walking distance of the delightful port of Ilfracombe. Friendly and helpful staff, they served us dinner even though we had not booked (and in the area this is honestly challenging)
nice and peaceful
we have stayed in many guest houses in Ilfracombe , all on upper floors the shower has been a dribble . however here the shower is amazing .
