An unexpected last minute booking. Great place to stay, food was excellent and the staff very welcoming. The room was large and well equipped. Particularly liked the choice of teas and cafetiere coffee.

Great location in a really idyllic rural part of England.
Perfect to have the pub on the opposite site of the road.
The Junior Suite was lovely and the equipment in the kitchen (plates, cutlery etc) sufficient for a one-night stay.
We liked the idea of the breakfast basket, although we would have loved to find some cheese or ham as well.

A lovely little village - a tranquil spot, yet just off the A303 and close to many lovely towns and attractions - Stonehenge, Stourhead, The Newt, Bruton, Shaftesbury.
The village itself is a small, linear settlement, but it does have a nice old pub, The Boot, with gardens adjacent to the river. Great for an evening meal or lunch.
