Hotel is absolutelly fantastic. Located on top of the hills. Beautifull view. Countryside. Orange trees. We walked through them. This place have special energy. Silence. You fill so relaxed. Other people who come to this place were positive, polite, friendly. Hotel staff is so kind. They pay attention to each visitor. Super kind and positive people in restaurant. All of them. At breakfast, lunch and dinner. We filled so welcomed here. Delicious food. Excellent dinner. Definitely will come back on my next trip to Portugal.

Tavira is nice, but the stones polished by decades of cars and foot traffic made the sloping sidewalks/roads feel almost treacherous. This is not the location to get away from freezing rain. Cute little city full of 70 year old tourists. Few restaurants other than Indian food. Little shopping. Beaches nice but very difficult to access. Pararia do barrill involves street parking then walking a half mile to a train which will take you 1 mile to the beach for 2eu each way. Or you can walk on a slanted broken walkway all the way. We are scoping out retirement options so were looking for...
We are scoping out retirement options so were looking for walkability and reliable public transportation. Tavira offers both! Local market is full of fresh meat, fish, fruits and vegetables along with wares such as baskets and cut flowers. Lots of restaurants and shops. Walking distance to train which we took to the eastern border then hopped a ferry to Spain for lunch. We opted out of the hotel breakfast and found a cafe across the river for coffee and avocado toast one day, another day we went to the Pingo Doce grocery store for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. We tried a different restaurant for dinner every night and every meal was fantastic. If we had to do it over again, we would not have rented a car. The metro, train and bus system is reliable and comfortable as well as much cheaper and less stressful.Kellogg - 10Scored 10

Tavira is a city with very interesting architecture. It's crossed by a river that gives it a certain romantic flavour. It has some very interesting beaches nearby, with sand as far as the eye can see and good water quality.

Loved the Friendliness in this nice quaint old town, unfortunately the roads / streets were in process of being dug up & left rather unsafe ( we witnessed a lady falling).. lots of cobbled streets which were left unfinished. Tavira is full of character and has an obvious love of its history and heritage. It offers the opportunity to have a beach holiday without it being forced upon you. Wander down all the back streets and find new places. We mostly self-catered but there are many restaurants with differing cuisines. Take a punt - it will probably pay off. If you like octopus take a trip to Santa Luzia just 3km away. It is a charming fishing port and the octopus catching centre of PortugalSarahUnited Kingdom

The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. There are common lounges, areas to sit and play cards and a roof top sun area. Each morning we ate breakfast on the terrace under umbrellas in the sun. The breakfasts were amazing with fresh pastries, croissants, fresh fruits, local cheese, local charcuterie and coffee. Such a peaceful space, with a spa-like quality. The forest really provides a sense of isolation, even though it's located in a more residential area, once you step in side, you are transported to a little getaway paradise. The breakfast was delicious, the bedding was comfortable, like a cloud, and the common spaces were clean and relaxing.

We loved the balconies on each side and how close it is to the beach and restaurants. We had such a wonderful welcome from the host and his mother . She drove me to a supermarket in Tevira to get provisions. This kind of empathetic welcome and hospitality is simply unique but we found this in many places in Portugal. Such warm gentle people. We look forward to returning very soon.

They will provide you with fresh towels daily for taking to the beach 🏖️ Waiting staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel gave us a number for the local water taxi it's the nicest way to travel and you can be collected from the hotel's private jetty.
