How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

everything worked out well for us!
Nice hotel, with easy access to public transportation and convenience stores. They provide free water bottles as you please which is super nice. Rooms are small but well distributed. You can store your luggage after check out if you need.

Unfortunately found the bed to be extremely hard. But this is our only negative comment.
Loved the spacious rooms and great bathroom! Perfect for us as we have a baby. Room was cleaned daily (trash removed etc), free bottles of water in entry, staff were so kind. We were able to leave our luggage before check in. 7/11 directly across the street, a few convenient train lines right near by. Awesome spot, so many good food places around too!

It is visible that the hotel has its years, the furniture was a little run down. The design is a little dark, so it is quite gloomy. The room was small, so it was not comfortable to spend a lot of time in it. The hotel offered unlimited bottled water, which in itself was nice but not a all eco-friendly, as it produced a lot of plastic waste.
The bed was comfortable, the sheets were nice. The beauty products in the bathroom were a large plus. The bathroom was clean and comfortable. The room was clean. The desk and the chair were comfortable and much needed, because I needed to work. The wifi worked well. The coffee express and the coffee/tea were tasty. It was quiet as well, and the view from the room was nice.

Climate control behaved quite strange - first it cooled down the room way too much, then you get a heat wave like from hair dryer.
Friendly staff, spacious room, nice bathroom facilities, location of the hotel close to the metro/train station.

Only feedback that hotel alike other hotels in Japan don't accept check-in before 3PM even if the room is available, but they let us leave our bags till check-in time.
We stayed in Tokyo, Kyoto before our stay at Brighton but honestly, this hotel exceeded expectations, the room size was big compared to the other 2 hotels, the facilities were great, hotel was very nice in general and supported us in sending our bag to Tokyo. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is extremely close to the subway station of a line that gets to some of the city's most relevant landmarks and neighbourhoods. The structure, staff and room size were great.

I have no complaints.
Staff was kind and helpful, room was clean and the hotel was in a good location for us. Breakfast was well made and thoughtfully assembled with good variety of ingredients and flavors.

Not many places to eat in the direct area, especially for vegetarians/pescatarians.
Close to station Kitahama which gives quick access to Dotonbori and other areas. The station that brings you to Shin-Osaka for the shinkansen is about a 10 min walk away. The location was decent, room was clean and staff was nice.

Only one little gripe, at top of bed. Bed lower than windiow sill and you are liable to hit head on window silll if not careful. No facility for breakfast in hotel although sufficient cafe's near by.
