How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was a little too long of a walk to the centre with small children-- we would recommend a stroller.

Because my email went down before we arrived we were not able to access, much less follow the checkin directions. This led to a period of waiting on the street while attempting to contact the owner for instructions for checking in and gaining access to the property. It was eventually reasonably resolved, although a stressful experience.

Overall the apartment is great. It would have been nice however to have some basic supplies, tea/coffee, salt pepper, cooking oil etc. We have stayed in lots of places and this is first one that supplied nothing. There were a couple of v small sachets of shampoo, that was it. Considering the price this was pretty disappointing. Otherwise nice apartment in good location, shame a little extra thought on travellers experience and investment in basic supplies and would be excellent
Very nice apartment in a great location, 2 good sized bedrooms 2 bathrooms, one with shower and one with bath. Easy walk into town and sights/restaurants. Good communication prior to booking and easy to follow instructions to get access. Nice to have parking available.

The property was a bit far from the historic centre so although it was quiet and pleasant I found it a bit scary to walk there in the evenings so glad it was three of us. The host instructions to enter the property were a bit confusing so we were glad and lucky he was there when we arrived.
Beautiful apartment. Very clean and comfortable. Ample rooms with large windows and wooden shutters and modern bathrooms.

The apartment is spacious and clean. It is located in a quiet residential area which is about 10 minutes walk from the arena. Manager was very responsive to our queries and helped us with booking of taxi. Highly appreciated.

There is an automatic check in via an app which proved problematic for us initially as we had no data. Has to find a cafe with internet but eventually got in.
The apartment is big, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. 15-30 min walk depending where you are going in the old town. Lovely quiet setting and responsive host.

Safe parking place inside the yard. Very spacious and updated apartment at the top floor with everything you need [a toaster would have made it perfect]. There is a lift which is great when you have luggage. Walking distance to the city center, about 10-15 min and 15 min on foot until the railway station. There is self checkin and checkout available only after you complete a form and pay in advance the stay.

We had a beautiful, clean and really spacious apartment. Juliet house is well situated. We were able to walk to the centre of Verona and did not need to use our car at all. The parking place was excellent, inside the yard.

Stayed in two separate apartments here (ground floor and 1st floor) as neither were available for the full period we wanted. Both were clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet and secure. The verandah on the first floor was excellent. Beds really comfy. Good selection of kitchen equipment. Online check-in was fine and easy. Consequently, did not meet host, but he was constantly available on WhatsApp, quick to respond and friendly. Extremely helpful with our bags when we had to swap apartments. Location is really good - close to town and also to railway station.

Cute and spacious! We are a family of 5 and Juliet House was very comfortable. Alessandro was an awesome host. We would definitely stay there again next time we visit Verona.

The air conditioner in one of the bedrooms didn’t cool at all.There weren’t any pods for the coffee machine.
The location was good. The beds were comfortable. Spacious living area as well as the bedrooms. It was great to have secure parking.

check in was not smooth- we arrive 45 minutes early and was able to get the key and open the door, the cleaning lady said she wasn’t quite finished, we said we only wanted to put our bags inside the door while she finished up. we were rudely told to remove our bags and wait outside until 2pm. so we were forced to wait for the manager to arrive and show us around. which was fine but it was done very rudely. also not enough toilet paper- the place was comfortable, safe and quiet, tho- no other issues
