We came to Bunratty to attend the Medieval Banquet.
We came to Bunratty to attend the Medieval Banquet. This is well worth a visit. The food was great! I really enjoyed the Mead welcome drinks too! The staff who were serving our food were also the entertainment. The singing was absolutely fantastic! I sing in a Welsh choir, I was seriously impressed! They instrumentalists were also exceptional. The host was also very funny, so it was a great night!
The castle is a fantastic attraction to visit and spend time with family and learn all about the medieval past.
After the banquet we went into the village and visited the local pubs. What an exceptional warm welcome we received. Both pubs had musicians playing and singing! What a place to visit for a bit of authentic Irish entertainment.

Bunratty provided a close location to Shannon Airport necessary after an overnight flight. We dined at JP Clarks which is lovely and delicious. Dirty Nelly's was adorable, but we couldn't get service. Bunratty Folk Park is well worth a visit. The breakfast served at Bunratty Mews B & B was plentiful and delicious which we could enjoy and be on our way.

Bunratty Castle gives you access to all the rooms.
Bunratty Castle gives you access to all the rooms. If you have trouble walking on narrow steep surfaces you would not have access to most of the castle, however the rest of the park is very interesting and accessible.

This is a perfect way to start an Irish vacation.
This is a perfect way to start an Irish vacation. It is a short drive from the Shannon airport and the Bunratty Castle/folk museum is a great way to shake off jet lag. There is shopping and restaurants in town that are very good options.
As you approach the building, it seems like a great estate house....tall ceilings, large rooms, opulent furnishings. Our room was quite large, with a large bed, and sofas by the window. There is a game room with billiard table and bar area which is quite nice for a B&B, and a baby grand piano (that could really use a tuning). Breakfast is served in a delightful dining room with traditional english breakfast offered. There's a couple of pubs nearby in Bunratty, right by the castle that were quite fun.
The host were friendly and fun, helpful and welcoming. The location was perfect for our first night in Ireland, not to far to drive after a long flight and learning the rules of the road. Easy parking.. And it was close to Bunratty Village with a castle and nice pub/restaurant. The Irish hot breakfast was EXCELLENT! We found it so nice that we made plans to return to the Mews for our final day in Ireland as it will be a nice place to also close our trip. Highly recommend this as a stay.
The holiday village is attractive, quiet and well-maintained. Our holiday house was spacious, clean and comfortable. The supervisor for the properties was welcoming and helpful, and she was very knowledgeable about the local area. Bunratty itself has plenty of places to eat and drink, and the castle and folk park are well worth a visit. It is within easy reach of the coast, Limerick, Galway, the Burren National Park and other attractive and historic places.
Everything about this property was wonderful! Vinny and Sheelagh are great hosts. The room was very comfortable and prepared with a nice continental breakfast, including yogurt, cereal, croissants, fruit, coffee, tea, etc. It was a short walk to Bunratty Castle and local restaurants. We stayed there because of the short trip to Shannon airport at the end of our Ireland trip…..a quick taxi ride away. Highly recommend this accommodation!
Wonderful hosts (Shiobhan and Sean)! We got lost at night trying to find the house. Siobhan met us at a gas station to lead us there! The room and house were beautiful, Full Irish Breakfast was outstanding! You can walk to Bunratty Castle, Dirty Nellies and other restaurants. Hosts supplied flashlights and umbrellas for walk. Would stay again!
Wonderful host was friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was made to order and delicious! The room was well appointed, had enough beds for the family and was very comfortable. We were close to the Bunratty Castle area and navigating the area wasn't a problem
Avarest is perfectly situated off the N18 and very near to the Shannon Airport and everything is within a short drive, including Bunratty Castle and Durty Nellies, which is kitschy-fun for your last meal in Ireland. Oh, and Deirdre was an immensely gracious host.
Sinead and Shane were very friendly and accommodating! Breakfast was excellent! Wish we were able to stay longer!
Neat... clean... friendly... just what we were looking for! They suggested the Medieval Banquet at Bunratty Castle! Excellent choice!
This was a last minute booking due to a change in travel plans, and Mel couldn't have been more accommodating. Their home/rooms were simple & comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, especially the home bake scones! Walking distance to Bunratty Castle.
The house was located less than five minutes from Bunratty castle. It’s a beautiful house and the guest had use of an upstairs living room area. Rooms were very nice and Margaret as a wonderful hostess. The breakfast was awesome. Very good!
The house and grounds are exceptional. Just 3/4 mile from bunratty castle and folk park, we were able to tour everything, have dinner at Durty Nelly’s, and even attend the medieval banquet without using our car.
It was very close to Bunratty castle. The host was welcoming and provided good suggestions for the area. The breakfast was filling and tasty. Ample free parking. The room was large as was the bathroom.
Lovely room with en suite, within walking distance of the village and its 4 pubs/restaurants and the fantastic Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Great breakfast in our room each day also.
Our hosts were very welcoming and gave us a choice of rooms to take that was both comfortable and extremely clean.
The even took us down to Bunratty Castle for the evening show.
Great location, walking distance to Bunratty Castle and restaurants and 12-min drive to Shannon airport. We could arrange for a take-away breakfast as our flight was very early.
The location is good for travelling around the area on day trips. It's within walking distance to Bunratty castle and pubs and restaurants. Joe is very friendly and helpful.
Staff communication prior to arrival was great. Good parking availability and walking distance to Bunratty Castle. Large room and quiet. Breakfast was very tasty.
