The location is brilliant. The room we stayed in was beautifully made up. The bed is very comfortable and the room is very clean. Little toiletries in the bathroom were a nice touch. You can park on the road in front of the house too which is handy. Great value for money for a night in Clon!

An Sugan Guesthouse, hotel in Clonakilty

Set in a Georgian property, once home to poetess Mary Jane Irwin, An Sugan is a family-run guesthouse and seafood restaurant.

Everything was O K but would need about four more convenient Sockets. We had 2 Phones 2 plug in sets of Hearing AIDS. People could have other gadgets. I have an IPad. Not with me. People have all sort of Gadgits with them these days. Badly need a Shelf in Bathroom over sink. Plastic mat for shower which was simple to use.

I was there to attend a wedding.

I was there to attend a wedding. I did not take a car so I did not see much of Clonakilty itself. I think a car is necessary as it is just outside Clonakilty. I did see the sea and beaches from the taxi and they looked nice.

Great town with lots of pride and several fun cultural experiences. The Clonakilty Black Pudding Visitors Center was great. The Clonakilty Distillery is a great tour and tasting experience. The downtown is cute and walkable. The people are kind and it's central to many great communities nearby.

Fab little town, everything is so close together.

Fab little town, everything is so close together. Really wished we'd stayed longer & are already planning a return in the Summer. Didn't eat in any of the restaurants as we only ate in the hotel but the menus of many of the eateries looked great!

Lovely quaint old world charm town.

Lovely quaint old world charm town. Very colourful and clean. Great selection of shops and information of things to see and do in the area. Take the train for a tour around the town for all ages. Lovely location as a base for exploring deeper into west Cork or just relaxing in one of the many beaches in the area. If you get the weather there is no place to beat this part of Ireland.

Fun, friendly town, with lots of cute pubs and really good restaurants. Great taxi service, Nial Johnson has electric luxury cars for regular price, really fun. Dinner at Camus with guest chef, Caitlin Ruth was amazing. You don't need a car, bus goes all the way to cork and past Skibbereen.

    Love the town.

Love the town. Lots of nice shops, bars, restaurants, cafés and little markets unique to the town and excellent just to browse around. Lots of little cafés, outdoor seating and well spaced public seats where one can sit and watch the world go by. The locals seem very friendly as do the staff in all the shops we visited. Seem to really take care of their visitors. Town is perfect to stroll around, very clean and brightly well decorated shops. Public toilet centrally located but unfortunately required coins to operate. These days, many people do not carry coins anymore! One way traffic system through the main street area - not too busy but could be nicer if pedestrianised.

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of clonakilty. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The bar is nice with typical irish folk music. The breakfast is being served in the cafe next to the hotel. The breakfast was delicious. The hotel rooms are nice, clean and big. The hotel offers corners to sit outside the rooms. We ate our delivered pizzas there.

I was a bit apprehensive to book The Clonakilty Hotel after ready the reviews but I was glad that I did book it. Room was spotless, wide screen tv, which I didn't expect as I've stayed in more upper class hotels and the tv was so outdated. The bed was very comfortable, I also ate in the restaurant and the food was delish. Amazing location, will definitely be back!

The staff were really helpful, and courteous, any request wasn’t an issue for them. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. They were well stocked with towels, and toiletries. The location was excellent, as it was central to attractions , and amenities, would stay again, and recommend the hotel to anyone.

Really loved how they have decorated the pods and the outside area, so cute! Great facilities in the pod, its more like a mini apartment with a little kitchenette and a good size private bathroom. Bed was comfy and there was a nice area to sit outside as well. Lovely warm welcome from the host too!

The Breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked. The proprietors' son was kind enough to bring me to the nearby Dunmore house hotel because I had been let down by Google maps. I had a very positive experience overall. I would highly recommend.

In the centre of Clonakilty. Great breakfast. The room was very comfortable and all told, the stay was good value for money. The place has a vibe between a hotel and B&B that is pleasant and the restaurant in the Sugan pub is very good also.
