Marvelous place for a general visit to the Alsacian area.
Marvelous place for a general visit to the Alsacian area. Plan to visit again. Took trips to little wine (Riquewihr) villages, Ron Champ, and that absurb large castle on the mountain to the north. Missed seeing Basel and Freiburg, a ton of museums, and a ton of old and new architecture.

I loved the fairytale feeling of Colmar.
I loved the fairytale feeling of Colmar. I also love the location. I was able to visit several other fairytale villages in France and then go into Germany and Switzerland as well. The wine is better than I expected also.

It's like a fairytale city which I always wanted to visit. It's so quiet and nice.
For dinner the restaurants are open from 7 pm to 9:30 pm or latest 10 pm.
Prices are a bit too high though. Around 25 euros only for the main dish for a person.
There are not coffee specialty places. Wherever I bought a cappuccino it was not the best, quite average I would say if you are a coffee lover.

Colmar is in a great location for people interested in the wineries of Alsace. We booked a private wine tour and visited several beautiful old villages and three wineries. I highly recommend this activity. We also highly recommend the Unterlinden Museum (the Issenheim Altarpiece is amazing) and the Bartholdi Museum. If you are able to prepare your own meals, the covered market in Colmar is a great place to shop for local foods and produce and it is located near Little Venice, so it's a scenic stroll. We took the bus to see the replica Statue of Liberty and I wouldn't recommend this activity unless you have a car. The statue is situated on an extremely busy roundabout so we were unable to get close to it - I'm really not sure how people on Instagram managed to get their amazing photos. Finally, if you are travelling during Lent, check to see when the Colmar Carnaval is being held. We personally did not enjoy the noise and the crowds, but we weren't expecting it since we didn't know about the Carnaval before travelling.

Colmar is a charming place to visit, with fantastic dining options and wonderful stores, including clothing stores, shoe stores, art and antique shops as well as gourmet shops and grocery stores offering everything one could hope for. It is also convenient to other nearby destinations of interest, making it a good starting point as well as a nice place to come home to in the evening because of its multitude of bars, cafes and dining facilities. If you’re traveling with pets, please be aware the taxi cabs are not user friendly if you have dogs, large or small. We we forced to walked from the train station in rainstorms each way because we couldn’t get a taxi that would help us. And management at the Coton apartment leasing Group, while saying they would call us back when we asked for assistance, simply didn’t. They never called back.

Charming, enchanting city. Very walkable.
Charming, enchanting city. Very walkable. Perfect amenities everywhere...restaurants, pubs, shops, free electric public bus to train station. An absolute must...a step back in time...a fairytale spot.
This hotel was easy to find and had plenty of available, free parking. Check-in was a breeze and the room was comfortable for three adults. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the air conditioning. Breakfast was available at an additional cost and was sufficient to fuel us for a day of sightseeing. I found it interesting that we were warned that breakfast does NOT include croissants, but instead local specialties. I really enjoyed the vibe and decor of the hotel and would stay here again if visiting Colmar.
The hotel is so convenient to the train station and just a short walk into the town center. Our room was very nice and quiet. The hotel staff was so gracious and helpful and they do an exceptional job keeping the place immaculate! We absolutely loved the Hôtel restaurant and their wait staff who were ever so kind! The food is simply superb! We totally enjoyed our stay in the hotel and in Colmar! Thank you to all the hotel staff for making our holiday visit so memorable!
The hotel is at the edge of downtown Colmar, literally. The hotel outside is not nice but inside the lobby it is cozy and the staff is very kind. Good that over the corner the passage leads to the attractions in the heart of the city.
The rooms are very small but in France it is rather standard. The bed was extra large and very comfortable. Although the window looked at the street, it was quiet. Breakfast was not four star but acceptable.
This hotel is conveniently located near the city centre of Colmar. The hotel is basic, and the rooms are small, but the price reflects this fairly. Yet, it has a parking (8 euros per day), a lift and separated toilets and showers in the rooms. It is located on a busy road, but the windows are pretty soundproof. The buffet breakfast (6.60 euros), while simple, is certainly adequate. The staff are pleasant.
The accommodation was excellent. Everything is very clean and tidy. The room was cleaned every day and the towels were changed every day. The employees are very hospitable and helpful. There are excellent restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel, and the bus station to the city is close by, in 10 minutes you are in the city center. I recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Colmar.
We only had the one night as we were heading South to Spain. We liked the comfortable beds in a very clean room. The hotel had a good sized car park both in front and at the back of the hotel. Also it was close enough to walk out and visit the old town centre of Colmar. The substantial breakfast and of good quality was an extra 11 euro pp.
Colmar is a great town to visit. The hotel location was very central to everything. It was a 10 minute walk from the train station. . . The host/service met me at the room with a key and explained amenities. . . The weather was hot. There was no air condition, but the host supplied a fan, which was perfect! . . I would stay here again.
The hotel exceeded our expectations. It was super clean, quiet, the beds comfortable, and the shower great. It has a great location which makes it easier to go to Colmar old town and other places around. As we were driving, the parking lot there was super convenient to us. Great price for value!
Comfortable clean compact room and even a Nespresso machine, a large shower. Very friendly staff. Good choices for buffet breakfast.
Parking available outside. A brisk 18 minute walk into centre of Colmar. Room at back of hotel, though near train station was quiet.
it’s a huge upgrade over a traditional hotel. everything was so clean and the location was perfect for traveling to markets, shops, and historical sites. we plan to stay here again anytime we come back to Colmar.
The hotel is about average for its classification. Personnel very kind speaking French, english and Deutsch. Good breakfast and good Coffee. Situated about 10 minutes from Historical Centre of Colmar.
The location is amazing, right in the centre of Colmar Old Town. All places of interest are within walking distance. The hotel is pretty and quiet. There is a parking place within 4 minutes walking.
Great location! Beautiful apartment, 3 air conditioners, well stocked kitchen a lot of dishes and cooking equipment. Close to everything. I would stay there again if I ever went back to France.
Wonderful location to explore old city Colmar
And the best breakfast I’ve ever had in France -and I’ve had a few!!
Both the restaurants were exceptional too and I would highly recommend
The lady at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are good sized and clean. The hotel is a short drive from the old town Colmar. Parking was onsite and convenient.
Excellently located holiday apartments, about a 10 minute walk to Colmar centre. Comfortable accommodation with a separate kitchen area. Pleasant, helpful staff.
Very nice staff, convenient parking, extremely clean, welcoming atmosphere, easy walk to historic part of Colmar. The hotel is dog-friendly, a huge plus!
