Very good food, recomending Ivan Pescar restaurant, in the building where the accomodation is. Highly recommend the boat trip Danube Delta. The guide knows his history and always makes a joke or two to lighten up the mood.

Favorite places: Danube Delta museum, Ivan Patinkin esplanade, one day trip to Danube Delta There are several restaurants (mainly sea food and fishes) around but we preferred self catering. Tulcea is my hometown, so I know a thing or two about it.
Tulcea is my hometown, so I know a thing or two about it. It generally has the same feel of many similar towns in Romania, being greatly affected by the Communist and the post-Revolution years. However, it does have some charm of its own. The Danube promenade is one of the nicest in Romania and it's slowly getting even better. The view from the "monument" (there are several in town, but only one is known as "The" monument) are quite impressive, especially at sunrise and sunset. There are several museums that will help you discover the region and - of course - Tulcea is the gateway to the Danube Delta, which is a marvel in itself, although people don't respect it as they should (but that's true about everything in Romania). There are many places where you can go for good food, I'll name a few that I've tried: Santa Catalina, The Pub Grill House, Trident, but there are plenty of other options. Getting around is quite easy, since Tulcea is a fairly small town and taxis are cheap-ish. Local transport is a decent option. While generally safe, being careful never hurt anyone and it's probably better to avoid some of the darker streets at night.

It’s a great stepping off point for the Delta and would recommend staying here for this, as you can then travel different routes in by boat. That said, the town itself doesn’t have much else to offer for tourists, with the exception of a couple of museums and an aquarium (unfortunately closed when we visited). The Danube delta is the draw here. Despite visiting in the freezing depths of winter I found an excellent guide who took me on an amazing boat trip (Safca Delta Tours, I highly recommend). Sadly the Delta Museum was closed during my visit.SE6KJUnited Kingdom

She was very friendly and helpful. The property is not very close to the center of town but it is close enough to walk to the pier if you take a Danube Delta Tour as I did. It is also just behind and below the Monument which isn't far to walk either. Wifi was fantastic, parking was great, bed was comfortable and everything was spotless. I highly recommend this property!!

It is modern, very comfortable, and superbly appointed as you would be in your own home. parking is available next to apartment. Host is receptive and welcoming, greeted us in person and gave us local tips especially since we came in late and needed information on tours to the delta the next day. In fact, we like it so much we stayed another night especially since the place is so relaxing and comfortable.

They took us to Sfantu Gheorghe through a network of charming lakes and channels and made it the very highlight of our Romanian trip. Breakfast was delicious, and we also had unforgettable dinner, very recommended. The house was charming, as well as the yard with old trees, flowers, lovely animals.

The hostess was really nice and friendly, she offered welcome beverages and she can speak many languages and can help you if you need something. The bus station and the Ferry Navrom Delta are very close. It is situated right above a little supermarket and next to an open market. It was perfect for our stay.
