Staff was absolutely amazing, they were caring, attencious and sincere. The hotel itself is a gem, its an older hotel but delivers a lot for its two stars. A lot of croatian families were there, atmosphere was very nice and cool. It is not a five star hotel or pretends to be it, but serves good food and lodgind for a fair price in a very nice location. So I have to reccomend it!

Beautiful hotel. The Flexi credit system works really well. Reasonably priced food and drinks, everything we had was really nice. Breakfast is also really good.
We had an issue with our room door, which we reported on the app and was quickly resolved.

Stari grad is a beautiful place and the people are very friendly.Lots of very nice bars and restaurants to choose from and lots of little streets to explore.,Public transport is cheap so its easy to check out other places not too far away.We found Taxis to be expensive so try and negotiate a price before you get in.A very relaxing, laid back place, just right for a chilled out holiday.

We could not of enjoyed Stari Grad more if we tried.
We could not of enjoyed Stari Grad more if we tried. The food was delicious, the people were incredibly friendly, and the architecture was beautiful.
If I can recommend anything, it is to visit Blue Doors. The food was amazing and all the Owners family recipes, the wine we selected (which I believe was the house white) was made next door to the restaurant. All the staff were lovely and we chose this location for our final meal of our holiday.

A peaceful and beautiful port, quieter then Hvar, but still with excellent restaurants, nice landmarks and a lovely feel to it.
Melting Spot for coffee.
You can't get any day boats to the smaller islands from Start Grad- you (unless you pay to do a private excursion) so you have to travel back to Hvar to do this.

I really love this place!
I really love this place! I've been there three times (first time 12 years ago). But I have to admit that prices in restaurants have gone mad this year. I understand inflation and everything, but I've been to Rome before visiting Stari Grad and food in Roman restaurants was 20-40 percent cheaper! Stari Grad (and Hvar island as a whole) is gorgeous! But it's not Rome! And I'm pretty sure it's not only my opinion because I was there a year ago at the same time (mid June), and this year restaurants were half-empty and I saw a lot of people walking away after looking at the prices on the menu.
Lounge and pool area is beautiful and spacious, restaurant and bars too. Nicely renovated. Hotel is at a gorgeous location by the sea surrounded by pine wood and olive groves. Beach is nice and plenty of options to find a spot you like - we were with a small dog so needed to stay away from main beach area, so we found some nice secluded paved rocks about 10 min walk from the main hotel beach. Food was good quality and not too expensive. Great breakfast buffet selection. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Marija is an excellent host and really went out of her way to ensure we had a great stay in Stari Grad. She organised a taxi to collect us off the ferry, brought us to the local supermarket on arrival to ensure we had supplies, brought us to Jelsa for our PCR tests and back and also drove us to Hvar to catch our ferry to Dubrovnik!! If that isn't going above and beyond what is expected then I don't what is! Thanks Marija for everything, I really do appreciate all you did for us.
beautiful stone house in the centre. very cosy , furnished so cute and comfortable.. equipped with everything you might need. nice garden to have a first morning coffee and breakfast. you get out of the house and you have everything you need. location is perfect because stari grad is close to all nice beaches. the greatest thing is you have reserved parking lot nearby so you don’t have to look for a parking space all the time. all in all perfect:)
We love everything about it. The space was spotless clean and location was most ideal, just minutes away from the town. We are so happy we chosel to stay in Stari Grad as opposed to Hvar old town. Vanessa was most friendly, she gave us a lot of great tips and recommendations on where to go and amazing local restaurants to visit. Highly
Recommend her place, we would definitely stay here again next time we are in Hvar.
The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are palatial. We wished we had booked another day but we had reservations in Hvar. Make a point of going to Stari Grad, which is a charming village, and stay at Villa Apolon. Sitting on the veranda with a glass of rose and watching the boats come and go is magical, especially at sunset. The hotel is right on the water and the staff are superb -plus, it’s a great value.
loved so many things— the rooms and hotel are beautifully furnished with attention to detail -the beds are the most comfortable with amazing bedding. the pools and sea view can’t be beat. it is truly a high quality luxury hotel— had an incredible massage. drinks and food very good but very expensive. everything smells amazing— essential oil spa like! loved being able to walk to old town Stari grad.
Amazing location!! Right in the middle of Stari Grad. The harbor is right there, and shops and restaurants are at your doorstep. The apartment seemed to be recently renovated. It was very clean and had everything you needed to make some meals. The host was very nice and let us check in early, along with giving us some extra pillows. We only stayed one night, but really enjoyed it.
Perfect quite new apartment with a balcony. Large private covered parking in front of the house. Location is good, in a walking distance from the city beach and old town wtih bars, restaurants, supermarket and shops. The hosts were nice and helpful. Possibility to use nice bicycles and barbecue grill. Check-in and check-out were fast and simple. I would return there next year.
That was for the first time we´ve had All inclusive in Croatia. It was really light all inclusive but for the price more than pretty good :) Our room with a beautiful sea view was perfect and a bed was super comfortable. Hotel Arkada is in a very great location in Stari Grad - ca 1 km near centrum but with several beautiful approaches to the sea.
Wendy is the sweetest host. The house is immaculate, really clean, decorated tastefully and all facilities (hairdryer, washing machine, kitchen supplies, towels… everything). The house is in a great location in Stari Grad, by a historical palace. AC working great, beds really comfy. We went on a family trip and we loved it.
This resort was the best stay of our entire holiday. The staff were exceptional, the best we have ever experienced. Always willing to help and always going the extra mile. The hotel also offered free transfers between the resort and Stari Grad. If you’re thinking I’d staying here, do it. Highly recommend it.
This place was perfect. Comfy bed, great kitchenette, great bathroom, aircon, and even has a great washing machine!! If you’re looking to stay in Hvar, I’d recommend staying here in Stari Grad, it’s much more relaxed and even better when you stay at places like Olive Tree!!! 10/10 recommend this place.
By far our best stay in all Croatia!
Great location in just a walk away from the port, the old town, and the bus stop to Hvar.
Very clean with fully equipped kitchen making it highly confortable for longer trips.
Helpful hosts with great communication and tips made us feel as in home.
Me and my mate stayed here as it was a bit different to Hvar but still wanted to go out for the nightlife. Highly recommend, town itself is beaut, food and atmosphere is great! As far as the hotel, I rate it 10/10. Deano the owner is also a massive help, lovely bloke.. top bloke
Beautiful hotel, incredibly located by the sea, enormous and super comfortable rooms, great taste. A great place to stay and just enjoy for a few days. Close to Stari Grad and Hvar Town, both totally worth the visit. Good breakfast, but not so good restaurant for dinner.
Spacious apartments, incredibly clean and well-resourced. Excellent location - close to the old town, shops, coffee, restaurants and beaches Generous, thoughtful hosts. Quiet. Beautiful views. Parking.
Newly renovated facilities in good location. Hotel manager was very helpful for arranging all concierge services. Recommend and will visit again when in Stari Grad.
Stari Grad was a lovely area to stay in and this property was perfect. Wonderful host and fantastic facilities. Perfect if you don’t want to stay in Hvar
