A blend of Colour, Cultural and Architectural Gems
Erfurt is a perfect base for exploring the state of Thuringia. This lively and cultural town is home to the spectacular Erfurt Cathedral and Augustinian Monastery, Merchants Bridge, and the renowned Krämerbrücke.
The best way to explore Erfurt is by foot, and whilst doing so ensure to wander through Stadtpark and Egapark and stroll around the Old Town which is lined by colourful and medieval houses.
Erfurt has a choice of hotels, entertainment and dining options nearby popular areas such as the Andreasviertel district, Fischmarkt, Dämmchen, and Michaelisstraße.

One night and a day in Erfurt is sufficient to see the sights. It's worth a trip. The hotel is 10/15 minutes walk for the station and is a clean, value-for-money place well-located for what you need to see. I had a small, single room which was perfectly adequate for one night.

This is a most interesting town dating from 1200 at least.
This is a most interesting town dating from 1200 at least. There was a Jewish community from 10000 and I went to the Alte Synagog and would recommend it for information about a possible UNESCO site and a recreation of one of the oldest synagogues in Europe. Also - 14th century treasure! Unbelievably saved from 1349 - jewellery, rings, coins, all in excellent condition,.
I was also privileged to go to a Christmas Service at St Michaels Church (near to the theatre) which is the home of Ukrainians in Germany,

A delightful town to wander around.
A delightful town to wander around. The restaurants tended to close around 9 pm, (in October) but there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. A couple of convenient trams wind their way through the centre from the station. Unusually for Germany, Erfurt was not heavily bombed so there is an interesting mix of architectural styles.
It would be good if Tourist Information could provide route maps identifying points /houses of interest. (We found the Altes Synagogue hard to find)

Erfurt is beautiful.
Erfurt is beautiful. A little taste of history, all the buildings are well preserved. Very easily accessible by foot and public transit, although the frequency of trains slows down early in the evening.
The cafes and restaurants are all wonderful. We ate at the Schnitzeler in Domplatz on the first night, which was excellent and with huge portions. During the day, getting a wurst from one of the street vendors in Domplatz is a must. If you are craving Ramen, check out JEN. The Hirsch Heinrich Sommergarten is the perfect place to spend an afternoon.
For sights, you need to check out Domplatz, Kramerbrucker and Anger Plaza. If it's a hot day, I highly recommend going to the outdoor pool at Nordpark.

Erfurt is a beautiful town full of charm and magic.
Erfurt is a beautiful town full of charm and magic. There are so many things to see most out of doors and without admission charges. The cathedral is very impressive. There’s a bakery on every block that serves great sandwiches-better than most restaurant dinners. There a more cafés than you can imagine all with wonderful specialties especially if you’re into coffee and cake, eiskaffee, or chocolate.

The Augustinerkloster and Old Synagogue tours were both excellent-highly recommend. If you are looking for a good breakfast, try Cafe del Sol. It is a little outside of town, but the bus stops very close to it.
One week in Germany, four hotels, and this was by far the best of the lot. We had one of the rooms overlooking the "bridge", and it was exceptional. It was huge, the beds were great, the room had coffee service (A BIG plus) and air-conditioning (also a BIG plus). The full service front desk was staffed by excellent individuals who did a wonderful job explaining what to see and how to get to the places we wanted to see. Included underground (free) parking was very welcome.
The place is lovely, with a comfortable bed, lots of space and quiet at night. An easy walk to the city centre, so we were delighted to have a secure parking spot and not use the car. The Apartment is spacious and well equipped, including a dishwasher and laundry machine, lots of dishes and a great filter coffee machine. The owner was friendly and available. We would definitely recommend staying here when in Erfurt.
The location, in an area with a Coffeeshop and a Supermarkt in the close vicinity, an ideal location for our visit to Erfurt. Bus stop nearby to go to the city center. At the Appartement there is an underground parking Space where our car and electric bikes could be stored. The appartement was well equipped, the bathroom was clean and all worked well. The heating worked fine as well when we needed it.
We loved everything about this place! The location couldn’t be better and our balcony overlooking the Gera was peaceful and stunning. Apartment was immaculate and decor was comfortable and stylish at the same time. It was well equipped Uli and Tina were helpful and gracious. Starting our day walking to the Altstadt was beautiful.
The quietest hostel I've ever slept in. Comfy bed, clean and large room, spacious common areas, nice furniture. Staff was brilliant in explaining house rules and giving pieces of advice. Downtown Erfurt is just 10 minutes away on foot. Paid parking available on location on nearby streets/lots.
Pleasant situation, about 1 km from the Cathedral Square. No coffee making facilities in the room, but a coffee machine was available downstairs (free to use). There was a nice seating area at the back of the hotel for coffee/ breakfast/enjoying the weather. Good breakfast.
The flat is very centrally located with a very friendly, attentive, and responsive host. The flat itself met all expectations and was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place. Great experience for anyone coming to Erfurt.
Great little short-stay hotel near the Erfurt train station. A short walk to the city centre and attractions. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast room very pleasant. Would stay here again without hesitation.
Good hotel. We used it as a base to tour the surrounding countryside and Erfurt city. Nice clean rooms with good facilities. Lovely bathroom with excellent shower and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was good.
I loved that it's a place with a beautiful ambience, very well thought, super convenient location wise. It is one of the cleanest and most organised hostels/hotels I have ever been too.
Beautiful property, spacious apartment and well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, modern bathrooms. Pretty room terrace.
Amazing location close to all the main attractions of Erfurt.
Location is ideal for a visit to Erfurt, just on the edge of city center.
