The only capital city in the world with a ski world cup race, Zagreb sits over 120 metres above sea level and boasts typical Central European architecture: cobbled streets, impressive public buildings and well laid out greenery.
Built around two medieval settlements with the Upper Town (Gornji Grad) being its core, the city skilfully combines modern attractions with well-established favourites. Start your day at the Museum of Contemporary Art, then have a stop at the Zagreb Cathedral or make a wish at the Old Town Gate. The locals say it will be granted!
For a more relaxing time, Zagreb features two lakes - Jarun and Bundek - both offering recreational facilities and hosting festivals and events. After having fun in the sun, you might want to hit the shopping at the colourful markets and small boutiques selling local crystal, ceramics and cravats.
To get a different perspective on the city, climb Medvenica, a mountain over 1000 metres tall overlooking Zagreb, and admire the views while sipping famous Croatian wine. And while you’re there, don’t forget to visit the Medvedgrad fortress.
Zagreb Airport is just 17 km and a short bus ride from the city. Whether you’re looking for an elegant hotel, classic apartment or cosy hostel, Booking.com has about 80 accommodation options for you to choose from!

Having been sent to Zagreb twice during the 1990s war I wanted to revisit a most beautiful city. No more! Litter strewn. Graffiti on just about all the buildings. Is not a city I'd recommend visiting. Very sad.

Visited this city in the low season and the atmosphere was so calm and silent to enjoy. Just love the people here are free to be themselves: casinos, sports gambling shops, tobacco and alcohol are always at the corners. This is a city with history and dignity.
Full of nature scenes around so you can plan your day trip to visit easily.
What a pity that the Cathedral of Zagreb was still under construction due to the earthquake. St. Mark's Church was not allowed to get close also.
I'm expecting another visit to Zagreb at Christmas time so I can join the Christmas market in Tunel Gric.

A lovely city to spend 24 hours which was all I had - enjoyed walking around and seeing the old city and learning about it. The trip was something of an initial exploration; Zagreb is on the list to visit again.

Zagreb used to be my favourite Christmas destination, but I would now recommend to you to visit it in warmer months as it has an amazing park Maximir for long walks as well as great hiking destinations around. I normally always try to see a musical in their Komedija, but I was unlucky to come on a Catholic holiday so most places were closed. I was a bit disappointed this year with their Christmas decorations as Zagreb usually excels at this. The stand disapointed this year with expensive and bad food and Chinese made ornaments. The prices are also through the roof since Croatia accepted Euro. I would still recommend Zagreb and a visit to the local market Dolac. Buy some home made cheese, sausages and enjoy sampling good food from restaurants around.

Zagreb is a nice destination for the Christmas holidays. One can find a central European atmosphere without crowds of tourists. Nice street food, ice skating, Christmas markets, beautiful decorations. Street parties at Christmas Eve.

Pretty, picturesque city, not too big but perfect for walking to different locations. Ideal for a weekend getaway as 2-3 days are enough. It's small enough to not require public transport, if you want to stay in the central areas, but in case you need it, the trams are very convenient. When I visited many of their museums and churches were temporarily closed, which was a bit disappointing.
Its a really nice place with cozy rooms and great facilities. Really cheap for what they offer, given that its in the middle of Croatia's capital. The rooms are pretty and very clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful.
They say they offer parking but it's really small place and limited spots, but you can also park on the street, as its free city parking. The surrounding area is not the best, but you can take the tram right from in front of the hotel, or walk 20 minutes to the city center. All in all, great accomodation.
Everything was very comfortable, hotel is located next to the central bus station, 3 minites from tram stop. You can get by the tram 6 to city centre (approximately it takes max 15 minutes). The staff can call for a taxi, to the airport in gets in 18-20 min. The breakfast is included, it is a full continental breakfast. Also for smokers it is possible to smoke at the terrace in you room with a city-view. Rooms are heated so it is comfortable in the cold season to stay there.
The place was really cute with a serene garden. Everything is as new, simple and elegant. Bed was comfortable, it was quiet in the room and the staff was friendly and accommodating. They helped us with everything we needed. Breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about, but it was decent and the buffet had a plenty of choice for a small hotel.
We also liked the location as it was a 15 minutes walk or 3 tram stops from the city center.
Very nice old house with authentic atmosphere. Relatively close and easy to go to the center of the city: it took us 40 min on feet and 12 minutes on a tram on our way back, tram stop is right behind the hotel. Its very comfortable because we didn't have to go to the center by car, its almost impossible to park there.
Very good breakfast, so far the best I have had in hotels.
Happy with our stay, it was up to a level you’d expect from a Hilton hotel. The room was comfortable, newly furnished and clean. We liked the breakfast selection as there was quite a large variety to choose from. They offer paid parking in a garage or a parking lot as well, which is convinient being so close to the city center.
Easy to find. Great parking not too close together. Room was big, we asked for extra pillow and teabag. Nothing was a bother. Breakfast was amazing, one of the best I have had in hotels in Croatia. The staff are fantastic. So helpful. Will be our hotel to stay in Zagreb from now on. 10/10
This hotel is really amazing. Tidy, clean, rooms are very comfortable and well equipped and is located in a beautiful green forest just 25 minutes walk to the city center. A big plus is that the staff is really helpful and super nice. What a pleasant stay! Highly recommended!
The location is the best one - in the city center. Breakfast is very vivid, you can find everything on your choice : salats, hot dishes, cheeses and meats.
Actually, the hotel is wonderful, however on our opinion the room could have been more clean and cheaper in Winter.
Very modern boutique hotel super clean and close to main bus station. Excellent breakfast. (Note: We stayed at Sofitel Athens airport after this and paid double the price and it wasn't as good as Hotel 9.) Antonia on reception was excellent and helped us a lot.
The hotel is conveniently located. Quick access to the city center and ideal location for further travel in Croatia. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking spaces at the hotel. Good breakfast and four-legged friendliness. Highly recommend!
Well; you feel at home. It is a small place. They know you by your name and make sure you have all you need. The hotel is tip top! Location in a quiet place but 5 minutes from the main street. It is 15 minutes walk from nature… and close to museums.
This apartment is gorgeous, clean and stylish. Kitchen has all appliances and had coffee, tea, bottled water and beautiful flowers waiting for us. Location is perfect. Close to downtown but quiet.
Best comparison would be to a luxury hotel.
Probably among the top-5 city center boutique hotels we've ever stayed at. The room was super clean and confortable, the staff was very helpfull and polite and the staying at the hotel was overall a pleasure. Totally recommended!
New hotel, clean and modern, awesome rooftop pool & bar (for +18, the pool is not physically suitable for kids), parking and the best views. All was great, would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone staying in Zagreb.
Maja, the sales person, is amazing. She deserves a raise. Whole staff is amazing. Very comfortable stay. Close to the city center. All you practically need is close by. I really loved this hotel.
The hotel is, 2 min walking from the the city center and that's really nice to visit the city.
We required assistance for a small issue and they directly helped us to fix it.
The staff were so sweet and the hotel itself is super modern with very comfortable beds and a great shower. It is located just 10min walk from the city centre
