Oswego Hotel, hotel in Victoria

The Oswego Hotel is located on a quiet street a few minutes walk from Victoria’s parliament buildings and historic harbour.

This was a once in a lifetime stay for me. I sent a request that , if possible, could I PLEASE have a room with amazing views! I arrived 3 hrs earlier than I'd estimated, well before check in. The Guest attendant suggested that she tag my backpack, put it in the back and that she would go put my food (I had a kitchenette!)in the room's fridge during the cleaning. That freed me to go explore. The location is excellent, short walk to the Breakwater or a lil longer walk to the Legislative bldg, in either direction. Lovely treed neighbourhood. Bus stops easily available to the Harbour/Downtown. When I returned the staff had changed shift and so regrettably I missed the person who helped me earlier: I wanted to give her a tip The lobby has a cute lil lounge that had live music that was filling up with guests! FUN. My suite was Fabulous! The floors were sooo clean that they looked like rocks in a clear stream lol. The view...I couldn't have asked for a better view! I'm grateful for that. The ability to open the sliding glass doors really made it for me. I cooked my own breakfast and made snacks for my long ride back to YVR. The robes are super soft! I felt safe and comfortable, slept well. I absolutely recommend The Oswego Hotel!

Vista 18 A la Carte breakfast. Early check-in. In downtown so walking to landmarks and interests. All I need is to park the car in the hotel and walk to places. No need to search for street parking with a parking time limit, risking tickets, decreasing mental load. The facility is maintained well. The swimming pool and jacuzzi appear to be clean. Appreciating that there was a Chromecast to connect to my phone. I can buy takeouts and consume them back in the room. Toaster and microwave available for quick breakfast and food reheat. Sink and dish soap provided as well. The stay was self-sufficient.

FAQs about hotels in Victoria

Ye Olde England in British Columbia's Capital

Picture Ye Olde English pubs, turn-of-the-century British buildings and immaculately planned parks. Now place it in a pristine coastal environment on Vancouver Island in Canada and you have the capital city of British Columbia, a region of extraordinary and unabashed beauty.

Grab your camera and head for a walk in the Garden City to the beautiful Butchart Gardens with its colourful flowers and foliage that change through the seasons. Revitalise your lungs with some pure Canadian air by going cycling along the largest network of bicycle tracks for any city in Canada.

The Inner Harbour provides many activities both on land or out to sea. Buskers and artists make this a lively epicentre of entertainment with many restaurants or take a harbour cruise to admire the coast from afar.

The Fisherman's Wharf was interesting with the nicely decorated houses people live in and the lovely hot donuts we ate there. We enjoyed walking around the downtown, having lunch at the Irish Times, walking through the Empress Hotel, and taking a water taxi to Milestones for our dinner. I wish that I could have visited longer and see Emily Carr's house but it was closed at the time. Victoria is a lovely city and James Bay Village is quaint and my favourite place to walk.

Don't miss Butchart Gardesn, Fisherman's warf and the parliament building at night. we had two dogs so meals at fishermans warf were the best and most accomodating. Would be helpful if there was a bus on Bellville st. As it’s a long walk for a handicap person to walk up to Douglas st. Over all felling Victoria needs to do more to make the city more handicap accessible. Many businesses have stairs that are very restricted.

This is just an exceptional place, it is a very well maintained Tudor style Luxury hotel not a B&B but similar , none of the shared things and very unique. Located in a lovely old neighborhood , walking distance to the Victoria downtown and the Ferry Terminals and Restaurants and do not miss the breakfast , you will not believe it . Also a library and sitting space . I really can't adequately describe the experience. Probably not for everyone ,no elevator. But they do have handicapped available in an adjacent building.
