A beautiful little city with enough to see in a long weekend...
A beautiful little city with enough to see in a long weekend. Lots of places to eat and drink. If you want to cater for your own food there are plenty of medium sized supermarkets and one large one. The old quarter is particularly pretty. Visited on Ascension weekend - 10-13 May 2024 - with lots going on: lots food huts in the centre selling the local cheese, and other local food produce. Excellent local marching bands and a large craft fair.

Lovely city full of life!
Lovely city full of life! Clean, safe, amazing restaurants, cafes, bakeries.
Great visits to the art museum (free!) and Cathedral (fee with a guide via QR code on your phone).
Just walking around the city gives good vibes.
Also a very big mall with food court in case you want to shop (or kill time on rainy days.)
Surrounding villages on the coast have amazing views and crazy high waves that crash into the cliffs.

The cleanest, friendliest city in Spain.
The cleanest, friendliest city in Spain. I have never seen so many council workers sweeping a city before, incredibly clean. A must visit for everyone. The architecture is incredible, old & new together but not clashing. Museums, art, history and great cafe/bars etc all within walking distance, no taxis required.

This is quite a large city with wide boulevards and modern business and shopping areas with a beautiful old centre at its core.
Good road and rail links for arrival and onward travel.
Old town and Cathedral are lovely areas to explore on foot. Excellent choice of restaurants and bars- traditional Spanish but also Italian / mediterranean cusine and some catering for vegetarians/vegans. Plenty of historic buildings and gallery and museums to visit.
Best experience- seeing a wedding party arrive and enter the Cathedral on Saturday morning- with traditional dress and musicians playing pipes and drums.
Sitting in the sunshine at a cafe watching the spectacle unfold. Followed by a late lunch in a cobbled, inner courtyard restaurant ,nearby. Perfect!

Oviedo is a very clean compact city easy to get around...
Oviedo is a very clean compact city easy to get around walking. There are many many restaurants and Cider houses serving excellent Asturian or European food at very attractive prices. The Menu del Dia in the reataurants of Calle Gascona ranged from 15 euros per person upwards which included bread and oil, starter, Main meal ,and dessert, with 2 bottles of cider and water, the quality of the food was excellent. Particularly enjoyed The Cathedral, the markets, the food market with great choice of cheese ,meats and fish and bread. San Francisco Park is beautiful to walk around any time of day or night and very safe. The city has a lovely ambiance.
Clean and comfortable with helpful staff, at the heart of Oviedo’s best bits. Modern shopping on one side, charming old town on the other. We had a junior suite which gave us a little extra space but perhaps at the cost of only having a skylight; but being on a relatively ordinary street it wasn’t much of a loss. We had no problems using the valet parking. Oviedo is a great place to visit and we would definitely use Fruela (or Munia, the sister hotel over the road) if we go back.
Place is very clean and the room was comfortable and generously sized. The bathroom was also very clean and large, with a walk in shower with great water pressure, a nice change from another hotel I stayed in while in Oviedo. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, and spoke enough English to get me checked in with no trouble. It's a little off the beaten path of the center city, but not outside of walking distance as long as you don't mind walking.
Fantastic hostel right in the centre of Oviedo but very quiet at night. It’s a small hostel over 2 floors and the staff work very hard. Kitchen is well equipped and breakfast is good and terrace on the 3rd floor is perfect for sitting out enjoying the sunshine and listening to the church bells (which only ring from 9am to 9pm). I stayed in their twin en-suite room on the third floor which was as good as any hotel room I’ve stayed in.
Very convenient to Oviedo's historic center. As the name of the apartments suggests, it's nearly atop the cathedral. The unit we rented was quite serviceable. We didn't cook anything, so really didn't check out the kitchen inventory, but there was a manual espresso coffee maker, and that's all we needed. Checking in and out at the nearby Gran Hotel España was very easy. Reception staff were all very pleasant.
Good, clean, comfortable, great value hotel in a nice safe neighborhood
Liked · This is a pretty standard hotel but in the tier of comfortable, convenient, good value hotels in Spain. It is very well located in a convenient neighborhood with good access to the highways. They offer breakfast and there are many places around for coffee, beer or food.
Upsolutely excellent accommodation & staff! Thank you so much for a great experience! Reception were so lovely & accomodating and treated us so well! I highly recommend this hotel for location, staff, comfy clean beds & value for money! Right in the centre of Oviedo town! Thank you so much! X kindest regards, Michelle Rubiera
One of the few May hotels in Oviedo that has not raised its daily rate to greed levels. The staff is sparse but very friendly though obviously overworked. Attractive room, wood panelling, tho a bit retro... in other words it was up to date maybe early sixties. Really nice art work. Room clean and comfortable. Good bed.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It is located in the middle of everything, few steps away from the Cathedral of Oviedo.
Minibar is extremely expensive, did not touch anything but check the pricing list and was very surprised.
When coming by car to Oviedo from seaside direction you will end up directly at the hotel - so easy access from the motor way. The hotel is also very close to the cathedral and the city center of Oviedo. The room was big and the bed was good.
Hotel is wonderfully located very close to most major sights in Oviedo, including the Camino, the cathedral, art museum, Sider boulevard and the historic quarter. Rooms are comfortable, larger than most, and well maintained.
The breakfast was sumptuous, the hotel itself was very grand so that it 'felt' like a five-star location, and above all the staff were absolutely delightful. I could have taken them all home with me.
Definitely one of the best budget hotels we have stayed in so far ! Everything was top-notch and that too in budget. We are going to go with ibis budget the next time we visit Oviedo!
i was in the Hotel for a month. i went to Oviedo for a month and was very well received in the hotel. Amazing spot, ill be back again! thank you everyone, specially to José and César.
Very nice staff, spoke English (not very common in this part of Spain)
Great location if you travel by public transport (just between train and bus station, close to restaurants etc)
