The location is excellent. It was very quiet in the area. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was substantial. The staff were very good.

I enjoyed the dinner that was provided, but I did think that it was a little bit expensive at €18 for what we got. We had one course with a relatively plain salad and a very small pastry for dessert. we were after some more wine and we’re initially told that we couldn’t have any, but then we could get one carafe more.

Fantastic apartment with kitchen and central to everything. One of the best stays so far.

I liked the friendliness of the staff. The hostal was clean and comfortable. I felt very safe there as a solo traveller. The menu was explained very well and I really enjoyed my dinner. There was a map left in my room of Astorga and it provided a wide range of information for me. I had a lovely stay at Hostal Residencia Delfin. Thank you.

The city is interesting, particularly in the old quarter around the cathedral and Gaudi building. There are several very good value hotels in the centre of the city and many restaurants which tend to be busy.

Astorga is a lovely town with plenty to see for a weekend stay. Main attraction is the Antonio Gaudi-designed Bishop's Palace (now a museum), a sort of Sleeping Beauty castle designed as a residence for the bishop of the cathedral next door. Secondly, the architecture and buildings all around town -- you can walk for hours and it's even large enough to get lost in, so bring your phone. The cathedral is sadly not very worthwhile -- drab, disorganized, you can go in but you won't stay long. Tip: Almost all shops are closed Sunday, except for the moust touristic, so do your shopping on Saturday.

The old town center was great--an example for the rest of the world! The whole town seemed to come out in the afternoons and evenings to eat, drink, socialize and people watch. It is a model of good urban design fostering community. All pedestrian of course! The people were very friendly to the peregrinos (like me) passing through on their way to Santiago.

Interesting old town with history, character and a great stop on The Camino de Santiago walk which has given a new lease of life to Astorga. The cuisine is another attraction and one hopes the improved economy will continue ... with its abnormally large cathedral and the Gaudi palace, charming town hall, plus the eccentric Paneiro poet family dwelling all add interest and
We were greeted with warmth and invited to a very clean and comfortable room with a private bath and a bathtub with lots of towels. What a luxury for a pilgrim on the Camino! The floor shared a fully stocked kitchen with coffee, tea, snacks and candy. This is a must stay in Astorga. I told the owner we would skip breakfast so we can leave early and she insisted she would get up even earlier to cook for us. I can’t imagine anyone else getting treated better in the whole city.
After finishing Caminos Frances and Norte, my sister and I rented car and returned to Astorga to see the Cathedral and visit our favorite jewelry shop. The Apt El Atico was great. The host was in constant communication and the contactless checkin and access was seamless. The 2 bedroom unit was very comfortable and the location was perfect. We would definitely stay here again. Parking was free, 5 minute walk.
not really what I was looking for. it is a rather cold and rigid environment, rooms are not cosy. showers are awkward to dress; you can’t really dress up there without anyone seeing you. getting a bit of privacy for putting clothes on is a challenge.
sorry I’m not a fan, I was happy to leave.
so probably not your Camino hotel.
Best place we’ve stayed on the Camino by far. Lovely spacious room with comfortable big beds, and bathroom with both shower and bath tub. Also the Camino literally passes by the hotel, so perfect location in beautiful Astorga. Andrea in the reception was incredibly helpful with all our inquiries, thank you!
Reception staff was amazing and so helpful.
Breakfast was good.
We were very tired by this point on the Camino and really appreciated Jose in massage! He's a miracle worker!!
This hotel is right on the camino path and is not to be missed. It's located across from the Gaudi castle and a cathedral.
Location for walking the Camino de Santiago, good price for a solo Pilgrim who prefers a private room and bath. Very clean room and comfortable bed!
There is a restaurant next to the hotel and the food was excellent but they don’t start serving dinner until 7 ish. .
Check in was easy at the Hotel Via de la Plata, a short walk away where the staff all speak English. It was so luxurious to have all the extra space of an entire apartment, and the shower was wonderful.
favorite place to stay on Camino! it was easy to access (and they let us drop off our bags early), the bathtub was divine! the host gave a wonderful list of all the things to do in Astorga!
Very centrally located on the Camino. Had a fabulous dinner located right in hotel. Warm welcoming staff. Reception spoke English well. Clean comfortable room. Highly recommend
Great location in Astorga on the Camino. Very modern hotel with great spa amenities. We got a 30min massage each, which really helped our tired feet & backs. Maria was excellent!
The room was large and comfortable. The hotel is located on the Plaza Mayor, with many restaurants available. The potential noise problem was neutralized by double windows.
Great old home converted to a hotel that has a wonderful feel. Room was large, with a wonderful large bathroom and a private patio. Great location right on the Camino.
Convenient location in Astorga while hiking the Camino de Santiago. Rooms were good size and everything was very clean. Decent value for an overnight stay.
