I almost feel guilty raving about this place because even though Egyptians know about it and have been coming for decades, there are relatively few foreign tourists. This has allowed Marsa Matruh to retain its unique cultural authenticity, with its delightful Bedouin hospitality and scrupulously honest people. I hope it won't be invaded soon by too many foreign tourists. Avoid coming in July and August. The best months are May, early June, September and October. Avoid in summer. Best beaches ever, but try in September end, as in summer it gets super crowded, annoying and not enjoyable at all. City needs lot of development and investors to build nice and affordable resorts.

Great city , especially it is small and you can go any place in max 30 min with car all water sports are there in other beaches i recommend to just rent the best clean place and buy all you stuff from the city it self even the food if this is okay for you Marsa mtroh is good cozy small place , very calm , sea is perfect

Marsa Matruh itself which is 35km from the hotel we were staying at is a den for Islamic fundamentalists, salafis and moslem brotherhood. It is not a place to be visited. Jazz hotel is in Almaza Bay which is totally separate from Marsa Matruh.DinaEgypt

It’s in the middle of the center and close to the beaches, restaurants, and markets. - I booked a room with sea view. The view was great! The size is good for one person and has everything I need. - very kind staff - the owner was super friendly and ready to help and gave all the information I need to look around this beautiful city. He suggested some good places and help me to find a driver to get there. He’s the best host I’ve met in Egypt so far.

On the second and third day the sea was full of coral reefs, the workers were trying to remove them but they were a lot. The beach is about 400 meters away from the chalets. where you also find the restaurant. You have to go to the beach to have your breakfast. It is not a hotel, it is just a place where you can rent a chalet.

The manager and the staff are all very nice. We arrived late at 20:30 that day but they still help us with our luggages and provided with us great dinner. Will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.
