Excellent location within a short walk to the town centre. Funky but stylish interiors which were a lot of fun. Didn't have breakfast as was too early for us. Bathroom was tight but functional. All was spotless.

Service was top notch from the off. I was greeted at the door following parking. Breakfast was easy to book. Recommendations were given for food and I was extremely grateful for this as the pub I visited was incredible. Rooms are spotless and breakfast set me up for the day. Don't be put off by not having a cooked breakfast. Fruit and coffee was exceptional. Everything was spot on. Very quiet and Brad was very sociable when it mattered. The room and hotel itself is spotless and maintained to a very high standard. I was worried about parking but there was plenty of spaces. Didn't need car charging but it was offered to me and available.

The location - situated practically in the middle of the town. Inside, the room was spacious and the breakfast selection excellent. An odd, but not unpleasant choice of background music in the restaurant at breakfast was pop-reggae (think Bob Marley etc.). Staff were attentive, polite and reserved, as expected in a hotel of this calibre; there was a rather old-world ambiance, reflected in many of the other guests...

We absolutely loved the room and setting. What a beautiful/relaxing place to stay.
The room was immaculate I couldn’t fault it.
And the hosts were fantastic.
It felt like a home from home.

Pleasant market town with a wide range of restaurants, including Indian and Chinese, and the award-winning Cornish Arms. Brilliant fish and chips. Interesting vintage market (Pannier Market), historic buildings and connections. Fine Church of St Eustachius. Well-tended gardens, good range of shops. Regulated (free) parking in places (5 p.m. to 10 a.m.).

Tavistock is a beautiful moorland town, with plenty of attractions, particularly the pannier market. There are bars and cafes aplenty and it's a lovely place to stay. This trip was only for one night but we've been here several times previously.

The church lane cafe is amazing good food and excellent service. The market doesn’t appear as busy on my recent visits.

An ideal size - could all be done on foot but with enough dining and drinking choices. Handsome architecture of local stone and granite. We recommend the Pannier Market (historic, with interesting stalls including unusually good second-hand books, and all under cover). The church, formerly adjacent to a monastery (of which a few traces remain) has a stained glass window by William Morris and Burne-Jones.

I live close to the center of Tavistock and was on a trip while I sorted things at home. Sometimes it is good to detach from the absolute familiar. Tavistock is a quiet, dreamy place in the main but has some night life centering around restaurants and take aways . The remaining public houses generally provide a warm welcome with a range of facilities across the board. Shopping: a good range of supermarkets, independent stores and franchises. Leisure pursuits are various in and around the town. It remains a satellite to The City of Plymouth however, with an other worldly quality. Not a suburb. Any recommendations would be biased.

Good Market town with lots of little shops but like most town starting to show signs of a down turn, has some free no street parking which is good but the council are planning to install parking meters which will kill the high street.
It was our first holiday in Devon and we’ve had an amazing time at Bluebell cottage. Everything we needed was there and we’ve felt at home immediately. From books to teas, the owners were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. Also, the cottage and garden are very very pretty!!
We’ve been here for 2 weeks and explored Devon and Cornwall. We absolutely fell in love with the area and we’ll definitely be back for some more pasties, hikes and exploring!
Greetings from The Netherlands
Superb location right next to the fast-flowing River Tavy where apparently you can see both otters and kingfisher. Slight drawback with location is fairly busy road outside which means driving onto and reversing from parking spaces can be tricky. The landlord Paul and his wife Carla were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Breakfast in the conservatory was superb; all products locally sourced, eggs done to perfection on soft white bread and fabulous coffee. Would make a return visit.
We stayed for only two nights while in Tavistock for a wedding. Our room was far larger than anything we could have imagined with the most luxurious bathroom / dressing area as well. The facilities were great, the north gorgeous building and the breakfast was delicious!
But perhaps most unexpectedly (perhaps because we’re B&B novices) was how Jan and Mark greeted us like old friends - wonderful wonderful hosts. If we ever need a place to stay in Tavistock again we would love to return!
We expected a cosy accommodation in city B&B (pub),....and found so much more. A great place with very attentive and friendly staff. The room was very nice and stylish and the bed super comfy. Also worth mentioning is the bathroom which was rather spacious.
Twice we had dinner at the hotel (ie. at the pub) and it truly was a fantastic and delicious experience. We can absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay there again should we come back to Tavistock.
Well everything And there were more ale hand pumps on the main bar that what they were when I stayed at The White Hart in Okehampton the night before and I slept better in the bed in the room plus As the White Hart didn't have a Lift in the hotel And I had to climb up to the second floor there And this hotel was cheaper to stay at too at £45 a night The White Hart was £53 a Night So The Queens Head all in all was better value
This characterful property is located within a few minutes walk of all Tavistock has to offer. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable with fantastic facilities for our group of three female friends enjoying a short break. Excellent communication with the host before, during and at the end of our stay. Highly recommended for a stay in delightful Tavistock.
This is the perfect hotel to enjoy after a day in the Moors. Our rooms were comfortable and beautifully furnished. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant for dinner and followed by breakfast the next morning was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed the quaint town of Tavistock, just wish we had reserved extra days there. Highly recommended.
The B&B at one drake road was so lovely, our room was beautiful and so was the living room area which we made full use of by eating our charcuterie board in. The hosts are so friendly and theres lots to do in tavistock as well as on the surrounding moors. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend, we will be back again. :)
I had the most wonderful stay and Eddy was an amazing host.
The place exceeded all my expectations and the facilities as well as being a central location in the town was comfortable and very quiet and relaxing.
If you are visiting Tavistock and the surrounding area (including Plymouth) then this is the place to stay.
The cottage is close to Tavistock and we walked into town on several occasions, which was very convenient. The lounge is comfortable although the TV is very small for the size of the room. The kitchen is well equipped although we did not do a lot of cooking as we have family in the area. The bed was comfortable.
Great place to stay, though not recommended if you have mobility issues.
The Lily Pad is spotlessly clean and has everything stated, including plenty of breafast materials!
John is a friendly host.
Tavistock is a superb location for travelling to many parts of Devon and Cornwall.
Highly recommended.
Breakfast in the Annex restaurant was excellent with good selection to choose off the menu. Hotel room was fine with plenty of space and very interesting outlook over the roof tops of Tavistock. The Tapas restaurant downstairs is very good.
Very friendly reception staff, lovely room with all the normal accessories and with ok views. Would recommend and definitely stay again when next in Tavistock. Breakfast was really nice and loads of it. Well done team.
The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The full English breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. The room was quiet and provided a tea kettle (with coffee and tea), internet, and television.
Fabulous location in the centre of Tavistock. The accommodation itself was lovely. The host Claire welcoming with great recommendations where to eat. I would recommend Dancy Mews with no hesitation.
Right in the centre of Tavistock with a free car park and lovely gardens to sit out in on a sunny evening. Staff were lovely and welcoming and plenty of areas to sit and drink in the evening.
I lovely place to stay in a great area. We appreciated all the little extras provided. Stair gates built in made life so much easier with small children. We will definitely come back again.
Didn't have breakfast due to covid but location was excellent. Hotel is right in Tavistock but far enough away from the main square which helps when trying to sleep at night.
Lovely spacious room, lovely and clean.
A well stocked kitchenette also has lots of information for eating out.
Tavistock was lovely especially the market.
