A beautiful little town with so much to offer, we were booked for only 2 nights but we were so lucky because the weather was very good, I went down to the beach at sunrise and it was so calm and relaxing and not cold at all. It’s never going to have the same clientele or whether of the south of France but what it lacks in the weather it makes up for in the welcoming atmosphere of its people and the beautiful scenery is never going to be replicated anywhere else in Europe. Our hotel location was on the South side of Scarborough...
Our hotel location was on the South side of Scarborough which we prefer due to being quieter with great walks, Italian Garden area and panoramic views of the harbour town area and beach. The town centre area has plenty of shops, eateries and entertainments but not as preferable. We didn't visit the North bay area but it does feature a great park area to explore. On busy days traffic routes through the town can be tiresome and badly signposted for unfamiliar driving visitors. (without satnav guidance maybe?!) Parking can be problematic so do some homework before booking a location.

I actually really like this place , we went to a small local restaurant called II Piatto ( I went there the last time I stayed) you may need to book but you will not be disappointed with the food. They also take the taste card so you get 2 for 1 on a main course.

Beautiful beach.
Beautiful beach. Very hilly to get to town but a tramway provides a great service to and from the beach. Food delicious. Fish and chips, dohnuts, pies,. Can do boat trips and a crazy golf too. I liked the friendly people and I loved the cliff railways. The 2p amusement arcades were fun too. My highlights: Going on the miniature railway in north bay Trip on the pirate ship where we saw a dolphin The two working cliff lifts (funicular railways) Fish and chips Lots of ice cream The castle

The hosts are lovely and the breakfast is very good - they will more or less make you anything you ask for. we have stayed in Scarborough probably around 20 times and this is hands down the best hotel we have stayed in. thoroughly recommend and will be back.

This was my 4th time staying there and Steve has taken this over from his lovely Mother 5 months ago...you can see he has started the refurbishment and is going through the hotel a bit at a time. The lower rooms have been done, but the top floor hadn't as yet, but Rome wasn't built in a day and I wish him all the best. Parking is only 10.00 for 24 hrs and the breakfast is worthy of staying put, rather than venturing out All the best for the future and I will return

The room was nice and spacious with comfy beds and facilities. Breakfast was one of the best ive had in a hotel as was all cooked fresh and really good quality. Bar service at night was great and John even went out his way to buy some Fruit shoots in for my lad. Overall a brilliant 3 days and would recommend staying here to anyone. Location is great, right near the tram to the beach (or the steps to walk down) and near many bars and restaurants in the town centre. The exterior is a Scarborough landmark with the views and lift nearby leading down to the coast area - the high street is also nearby.
