The most popular Wales seaside resort, Llandudno covers a peninsula with 2 sandy coastlines. The North Shore’s wide Victorian promenade is lined with period buildings which now house seafront hotels and guest houses. The beach itself stretches all the way between the Little Orme and Great Orme headlands, passing an outdoor swimming pool.
A historic tram climbs to the peak of Great Orme, where Bronze Age copper mines can be visited. The top is also reachable by cable car from Happy Valley, a recreation area with gardens and an artificial ski slope.
A road runs around the base of the headland passing the historic Grand Hotel, a property available on Booking.com and overlooking the Grade II-listed pier – the longest in Wales. The West Shore is much less developed and the Maesdu Golf Course forms most of its shoreline.
Of course, Llandudno has its fair share of traditional seaside pursuits such as donkey rides and fish and chip shops.
The town also has a modern retail park near the train station and Venue Cymru event centre, and wrought-iron canopies shade smaller shops along Mostyn Avenue, Broadway and Street. The latter - Mostyn Street - is effectively the high street and becomes brightly decorated during the Victorian carnival in May.

LLandudno is ideal for day trips or short, perhaps two day, visits. There are bus services to other locations so visits to other towns are possible if Llandudno becomes dull. There is not a lot to do, I found.
If you are feeling fit, the walk to the top of the Great Orme takes around an hour with a coffee shop on the top. If walking is not an option you can take the tram up and/or down, which is recommended. The car park at the top is a bit expensive. There is also a service bus to the top.

Llandudno is an amazing place to visit - exceptionally clean and litter free. Lots of restaurants, shops, cafes and an immaculate promenade. Cable cars, mountain tram, cafe/park on the summit, dry slope ski centre which also does sno-tubing, tobogganing, mini golf with a restaurant/bar.
Comfortable, spacious and clean. Close to both main promenade and also West Shore. Dog friendly as well. Bed very comfortable and the bedroom is a great size. We were able to park directly outside the apartment which was helpful. Communication from the owner was good with any questions answered promptly.
Have stayed in some fab hotels in Llandudno ..St George's, The Merrion, The Imperial to name a few however in terms of value for money - this apartment is great especially when you compare it against what else you could get for that price.
The Glan Y Mor Hotel is situated in a perfect location on the seafront, 10 minutes away from the shops and just 15 minutes walk away from the Pier.
The owners are very friendly and very informative about all the nearby attractions and places to visit, also the place is kept clean and tidy at all times.
We had a spacious room with sea view, which was a nice bonus, and we enjoyed the good selection for breakfast.
Thank you Mark and Liz, we would recommend this place to friends and family too.
The Grand is well located. The staff were always so polite and helpful. I am Gluten intolerant and they made sure I had toast and sausage brought from the kitchen every day. We had a large family Premier room as my husband is in a wheelchair.the room was spacious and clean with a lovely sea view over the pier.
The Hotel is in the middle of a refurbishment both in and out. Yes it is old but it has character.
Entertainment most nights.
Iconic Hotel. I had sea view room and it was amazing to look out onto the pier and the scenic view of Llandudno. I've stayed before and it's really for that experience I stay. Staff were very nice and I was only staying one night so fitted the bill. Was a bit cold but it was freezing outside and it is a big hotel to keep warm under current circumstances. I was more than happy with my stay and would stay again with that view.
This hotel is in a good position between the town and Venue Cymru and right on the promenade/seaside. The staff made us feel very welcome and in fact had called us earlier in the week offering an upgraded room. So we had that fabulous sea view that for us is a must in Llandudno. Good self service buffet style breakfast. Comfortable well appointed room. If we had been staying for longer needed more hangers in the wardrobe.
The seafront location and surrounding countryside were beautiful. We were pleasantly surprised that our twin room had 2 double beds.
The check in staff were helpful and polite and the room was spacious. On this occasion it suited our needs as we didn't spend much time in the hotel. The beds were comfortable and clean and housekeeping did a good job of refreshing our room.
Fantastic big, spacious luxury clean accommodation. The best in Llandudno that we have ever stayed in and better than the 5 star Imperial and St. Georges hotels. Fabulous sea views and great location . Great hosts, thought of everything and we will definitely be back next time we stay in Llandudno. Would highly recommend this to anyone considering a Llandudno break
Excellent breakfast-rapid service.Location really good right on the seafront with lawns and children playground opposite the hotel and an easy drive or longish walk to Llandudno town centre. Lovely view from our sea view room.
Enjoyed a good tapas lunch.Did not get a chance to try dinner menu due to other commitments. Good range of beers in the bar.
The owners were really nice. The hotel is ideally situated for the centre of Llandudno. Our room was a en suite room and had TV, tea/coffee in the room. Plenty of space with a large double bed. The breakfast was incredibly good (full Welsh) and kept us going all day. Probably one of the best we've had. We would definitely come back again.
Easy to find - ample parking adjacent - efficient check in
Generous room with sea view
Comfy bed
Tea making facility - with biccies
Modern bathroom - plenty of fluffy towels and complimentary shower gel etc
Nice bar area and outdoor seating available
good breakfast with plenty of variety
The hotel is the far end of Llandudno so bit of a walk to the main amenities but I cant fault the hotel itself. Dog friendly, car parking available and very clean. We had a room on the front overlooking the sea and were very happy with it. Bar area clean and well furnished with very nice decor.
Great hotel, staff , owner all wonderful no complaints at all,
breakfast just right everything you wanted, clean comfy room, and
the location 5 minutes from the beach. the owner Selina was A+
as well as the staff, definitely will be staying there again..5 stars....
Dinners were very good with a well balanced menu in superb surroundings - cleanliness of the hotel which was excellent - with sea views the bar area with wonderful views was delightful. Location on the seafront with walks along promenade and pier were superb.
There is a lack of good hotels in Llandudno. The Esplanade is well located and our stay was pleasant. It seems to be undergoing renovations, which are probably overdue. Be sure to book for dinner and don't miss the cable railway!
Large hotel right on the sea front with everything Llandudno has to offer on the doorstep, great and helpful staff, also the restaurant has sea views, very clean and with entertainment at night it was a very enjoyable stay.
The hotel is just by the beach. The best location I have ever been near sea side. The room was very big and super comfortable. The sea view from the room was just amazing. I will definitely recommend everyone.
