Beautiful scenery and great for walking.
Beautiful scenery and great for walking. Accessed by road and rail, its central location is ideal for visits to Bodnant Gardens and Snowdonia. Relatively easy for keen walkers to reach Fairy Glen and Conwy Falls, as well as Swallow Falls and the Ugly House..
Characterised by substantial stone properties and its riverside location, this is a charming place which can get very busy with hikers and sightseers. It's only a small town, but there are a variety of shops and places to eat - from small cafes to hotel restaurants to suit all pockets, but quality varies. Excellent food is available in the Royal Oak Hotel restaurant.
Golfers are welcome at the flat 9 hole course which has excellent greens and is well maintained.

Small village but very quaint and with plenty of amenities available.
The train station is right in the middle of the village and connects with Llandudno from where many connections are available to England’s major cities. Around the station are restaurants and cafes, and the visitor centre is in walking distance (also with cafe and other shops).
I didn’t use any of the buses but could see a few that take you to other towns, including the ones that are a starting point to hike Snowdon.
From Betws-Y-Coed there are a few very agreeable walks like Fairy Glen, Llyn Elsi, and Swallow Falls, through the forest or along the river.
It’s a lovely place to stay for a few days. Tranquil and relaxing.

So much to do and see within a reasonable drive.
So much to do and see within a reasonable drive. Aswell as Betws-y-coed, we visited Zip World, Anglesey and Llandudno.
Some of the roads were extremely narrow, but we hardly saw any traffic on them.
Lots of lovely shops and cafes in Betws-y, and the views were amazing. We even saw the B&B that we visited 15 years ago was still there!

Attractive small town with much to see and do.
Attractive small town with much to see and do. Good range of shops, pubs and eateries all in a lovely valley setting. Good food options with take-aways, cafes, pubs, hotels and a few restaurants.
Good access generally but busy pavements when it is really crowded in the Summer.
Local.s generally welcoming and friendly. This is a clean little town that is attractive and well maintained.
Plenty to do if you enjoy walking and exploring...including some well maintained river walks - but flat land is at a premium.
There IS parking... but you often have to search for it!
Staff friendly and helpful throughout. Breakfast? Service excellent by the staff explaining what you do for yourself. A bowl of cornflakes. A slice of wholemeal toast and a pot of tea all prepared by me. The bar staff were also polite and help full. Allowing areas in front of house and at the area you had to walk through to get to the gardens at the rear meant sitting next to (at the front) and walking through at the rear smoking areas. I have never been in a pub with B& B or a pub or indeed an Hotel which had smoking areas front and rear.
The room was exceptional for the price, and in an established building of a well known Welsh village.
The bed was really comfy, and good bedding.
Excellent availability of tea and coffee supplies for the room, easily available outside the room.
Particularly loved the key safe option for the room key and front door outside the main door.
Communication online was excellent.
Particularly loved the lack of noise, which I know I would have suffered in bigger accommodation nearby, due to lads on weekend hols.
Hotel location very close to the village centre with church nearby (nice to hear the bells). breakfast was very nice served in the room itself caused by covid restrictions, room was clean with hair-dryer, kettle and plenty of tea/coffee supply. Julie & Tony were really accommodating - prepared a take-away breakfast for us to have on our trip to the top of Snowdon. Really loved the whole area around the hotel and had a great time. Would recommend to everyone. Thank you very much for everything
Waterloo hotel was a perfect location just on the edge of the village, the staff were amazing, everywhere was clean, the room (we had a ‘motel’ style room) was very convenient and private, the Welsh tea was delicious, the shower was brilliant with exceptional hot water pressure, the restaurant and bar had a good selection and food was well cooked, breakfast was good and plenty of choice, there is a pool and gym but we didn’t use this time, will definitely stay again!
The room and bed was comfortable, and there is plenty of space in the facility. For a hostel, the room had more hotel like facilities with tea and coffee etc. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was very good with plenty on offer. Its a good start to the day. Also the dining area is spacious
There are some really comfortable chairs which you can relax in after a long day
Great location, 5 mins walk into the village. 5 mins drive to zipworld betws y coed. We were in the area to walk snowdon and it suited our needs with close access to all routes 👍
The place could do with some TLC but the host is amazing running it on her own , so friendly, bed was comfy, room clean and breakfast very good. Price reasonable and would stay again on our next visit.
The location of the hotel was perfect an easy walk into town and some interesting walks close by. The staff were amazing so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to Michelle who was wonderful such an asset to the hotel. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. The gardens were beautifully kept and the riverside location was such a bonus.
This hotel is surrounded by rolling hills and yet is approximately 7- 10 minutes walk to the centre of betws y coed. The Ty Gwyn restaurant is a short walk away and serves the best food I’ve had and at a reasonable price. (Mains dishes from £12 -£20 and reasonably priced beer.) The bed was a good size, firm but very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and superb hosts.
A lovely hotel. Lovely view of the River Conwy from the bedroom window. The bedroom was clean and nicely decorated and the shower was very modern and clean too . So much choice on the dinner menu , my steak was excellent . The staff were friendly too . Whenever I visit Betws y Coed in the future I'll be staying here .
The location is great! The staff were wonderful. The hotel is very nice and has a great bar and kitchen on-premises. The room could have used some updating and maintenance and the bed was not very comfortable. Overall we were satisfied with our stay
the location was great right in the centre of Betws y Coed. The hotel had its own car park which was great. We couldnt fault the hotel and the standard of the breakfast was excellent. We had dinner in the Grill restaurant both nights the food was great,
The location was fabulous for seeing this area. Plenty of free parking on site with a pool and spa. Restaurant food and bar were VERY good and reasonably priced. Daily breakfast was good with a nice selection.
