A beautiful old hotel in the heart of this historic town. Very large, comfortable and clean room, with a huge bed. Really good breakfasts and the restaurant has a great atmosphere and was really enjoyable too, especially sitting outside for a beer on a warm evening. The staff were friendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel is quirky - a fairy tale theme, in keeping with the hotel name. That won't be to everyone's taste, but just relax and take it as a bit of fun. Parking for guests is close by.

Bernkastel kues is a small but well appointed town, with big supermarkets for all of your self catering accommodation needs. A good selection of restaurants and a few bars, to my point of view and UK experience with bars where there is no smoking in them it could be a little un pleasant in some BUT not all as there are some smoke free.
The Xmas Market and advent calendar house are well worth visiting with a very relaxed but busy vibe. The river cruise/trip is a nice way to spend an hour or so, there are longer trips available but in December when we were there it's a limited run so to speak.
All in all for our 4 night stay it was ideal.

We went for the winter market and while it was raining a bit, the market experience did not disappoint. It was a beautiful, postcard perfect, little town square with one building having an advent on the side of its walls - it is famed as being the largest advent calendar in Europe and they are probably right - watching them open one of the doors was great. The food, drink, and other items for sale as well as the atmosphere were fantastic. My family are big fans of winter markets and this one rates in our Top 5. We also walked up to the ruins of the castle overlooking the town - great view of the town and river. If you love Asian food, you must try Dian's - some of the best food I have eaten including having lived in SE Asia for 6 years.

The beautiful medieval town of Bernkastel is almost complete and exceedingly well maintained. Plenty eating places, lively vibe, great for walking if fit (hills and vineyards and forest) but flat walking or cycling along the riverside was beautiful. Also an unexpected pleasure was museum Zylinderhaus & restaurant . Walked down from the castle to a lovely lunch at the Schutzenhaus with a stunning balcony view of the Mosel.

Charming little town on the river Mosel.
Charming little town on the river Mosel. Because of it’s size the town itself is good for maximum 1 day of sightseeing but deserves at least one night to stay. Though it is a lovely starting point or base to see the area along the River Mosel, with interesting places such as Cochem, Trier, Burg Eltz, Traben Trarbach, Beilstein, Saarburg or even Luxemburg.

Bernkastel Kues is a hidden gem in the Mosel Valley.
Bernkastel Kues is a hidden gem in the Mosel Valley. It gets very busy in the summer. There's lots to do especially if you like walking or biking, as easy or as hard as you want. The best time is in December during the Christingle Nacht celebrations during advent.

this hotel is located in the center of the ancient village.. However the rooms are looking a bit worn out with paint missing in some places, the furniture and beds are new and comfortable, and the bathroom modern and brandnew. Very quiet location, so we had a good nights sleep. The owners are extraordinary friendly. When my wife checked out without having breakfast for passing the sceduled time, they insisted on serving her a coffee, bread and coldcuts, and fresh made eggs on top....
Location was perfect, although in the middle of the old town centre it was really quiet at night, even for a street facing room.
Size of the room "Riesling" - a seperate living room with a sofa, a bed room and a ballroom size bathroom.
Everything was spotless and clean.
Nice breakfast selection and the only hotel on our Germany trip that served lactose-free and oat milk at the breakfast buffet without specifically having to ask for it.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional; and the hotel has very modern amenities. Unbelievably clean, with very comfortable rooms and facilities. The breakfast was very good, with a good variety of both European foods and standard American fare such as scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. Secure parking under the hotel helped put my mind at ease. You would have to search for a reason to not be satisfied.
It was a lovely apartment and had plenty of space. The kitchen was lovely and big and the dining / living area was spacious and comfortable. It was very warm during our stay, so we were so thankful that the apartment and plenty of air-conditioning. It was only a couple of minutes walk from the bars and restaurants.
We stay in Bernkastel most years and this is definitely one of the best apartments we have stayed in.
We were the only people staying at the Hotel that night. The owners left us with details on how to access drink if needed - completely trusting us - That was very welcoming. The breakfast laid out for us the next morning was one of the best of our holiday. Although the restaurant wasn't open that night the hotel is within an easy walk of a superb Italian restaurant. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.
Loved the style of the hotel, staff were so helpful and friendly! The hotel is new but even with only being open in July we were extremely well looked after. Our room was spacious with a separate room for our son. Lovely welcome in reception including a glass of Deinhards bubbles - which we bought a few of to take home!
very clean and nice room. it is on a 20 to 30 min walk from Bernkastel city centre. we especially chose this location to be away from the cente during the wine festival. The hotel has also a restaurant. The food is very good but the menu is limited compared to some other restaurants.
very positive experience
This is a beautiful historic building in the middle of a lovely town. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was good and breakfast was fine too. Private parking is about 100m from hotel and useful. All good value for mmoney.
A newly renovated house in the beautiful Wehlen close to Bernkastel-Kues. Quiet location. The owner Barbara greeted us like family and gave us a lot of useful information and friendly service. Higly recommended. A good nights sleep and great breakfast made our 1020 kilometer trip to Nice easy.
Wonderful, welcoming host. Outstanding accommodations, impeccably clean and furnished. Property fully stocked with every item one could possibly think of, which created a true home away from home. Quiet location, in close proximity to historic town, stores, restaurants and more.
Nothing can beat the view on the vineyard slope with the famous sundial clock on the other side of Mosel. Hotel is extremely clean and the breakfasts are amazing with lots of choice and tasty fresh bread. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
It is a very sweet and cozy hotel very close to the town center. It has a beautiful view of the castle from our room. It has good amenities like fitness and sauna. Food is fantastic and the staff were friendly.
It was a beautiful hotel with a delicious breakfast, large rooms, friendly and extremely helpful staff, especially Thomas. Might be one of the nicest European hotels we’ve ever stayed at!
