We recently stayed in many motels whilst travelling to South Australia and A1 was right up there. I always know when I walk into a room and I instantly feel comfortable that I’m happy and this room was it.
It was modern, comfy and light and airy. The bed was so comfortable.
There was a toaster and kettle and utensils and plates.

The Merrijig Inn is a unique place to stay and such a lovely contrast to so many nondescript hotels. We enjoyed a relaxing stay with an excellent breakfast in the morning.

Second oldest town in Victoria. Plus went to the Aboriginal Eel Traps at Tae Rak Aquaculture Centre. Traps are 6,000 years old. Our guide was most informative about their culture. Just brilliant.
Main street has not been spoiled by developments.
A most characterful area and continues down to and along the river.
I like staying in 'old' towns such as this.
Echuca, Castlemain, Creswick, Beechworth, Bright, Yackandanda, Swan Hill, San Remo, etc.

Port Fairy I believe is the best presented village on the Coast in Victoria and perhaps even Australia.
The walk along the River among the fascinating old and quaint homes is truely memorable. We ate at Hotel one evening and very character filled Pizza and Bar restaurant another evening.Best Pizza we have had in years,Port Fairy is a dream to walk around from the River to the Beach to the parks and gardens and generally around main village precinct.Only thing we would avoid is not staying long enough and we could have enjoyed world class golf course.

Port Fairy is a pretty little town.
Port Fairy is a pretty little town. I loved the historic buildings especially the timber cottages. The town is obviously cherished by its inhabitants and pride is taken in its presentation and history. There are some great places to eat in Port Fairy.
We had hoped to do some walking along the path by the river and around Griffith island. My husband has Parkinson’s and uses a walker for balance. We did some walking but we’re limited because the path along the river is broken by stairs to the footbridge over the river and the start of the Griffith island path is wonderful but deteriorates to rough gravel. Port Fairy is a great place to visit - especially if you appreciate a very good golf course. The town has great historical interest and is well appointed for tourists. This part of Victoria is very exposed to the weather so the traveller needs to check the weather in advance and take clothes to suit.

Port fairy is a beautiful, quiet and very much upmarket town with excellent shops, cafes and one or two good looking restaurants. There are peaceful, interesting nature walks and a picturesque wharf and boardwalk.
Gorgeous!
We arrive past reception time, but the Jess' communication and contact with us was on point, we had no issue getting to and around the place. We were provided with places to visit around Port Fairy and some recommendation as well, guest experience was fantastic... We stayed a night since we were only driving through back to Adelaide after our trip in Melbourne and drive from the Great Ocean Road. The place is definitely great for young travellers, it spacious, clean and have enough social rooms to meet up new friends...
if you are travelling the great ocean road and you are looking for an extraordinary boutique hotel experience, drift house is the way to go. the rooms are large and designed with attention to detail, forming part of what feels like a little design campus in port fairy. the dinner we had at the hotel was outstanding, as was breakfast. we received the friendliest and most personal treatment from maddie, and it almost felt like leaving a friend after only two days.
Located a short walk away from the centre of Port Fairy, Bindi was the perfect spot for our family. Although an older property, it had plenty of space, with two living/dining areas, each with a TV. The showers were hot and the bath towels a generous size. The kitchen was well equipped but no dishwasher (not a problem for us!). We truly appreciated being able to take our dog.
Oscars Waterfront Boutique Hotel is superb with facilities that are clean, comfortable and so welcoming. The care and attention to detail within and around the Hotel and its rooms was well above our expectations. The Hotel's manager Andriana was very friendly and obliging. The breakfasts she prepared were so very tasty and filling.
We had a great time here. The place is well laid out, spacious and well appointed and was perfect for our short stay in Port Fairy. The view onto the pastures populated by a few Alpacas was really charming. It is a shortish walk into the main activity areas of Port Fairy. Staff were never seen but very responsive by phone and text.
We were upgraded fromy original Train Carriage booking to a mobility friendly cabin. The park is right beside the Moyne river and the environment is very quiet. Port Fairy is a great little town, and I would most certainly stay at the Pelican Waters again in future. The hosts were most accomodating for us.
Excellent location close to main aspects for a visit to Port Fairy. Spacious and attractive room with a very comfortable bed, and also a small table and chairs which was useful. Staff very friendly and helpful. An evening meal was able to be ordered through the bar on a night when the restaurant wasn't open.
The accommodation was in a a historic old Flour Mill. The building was beautiful. The amenities perfect. The location to town center awesome. Bonus was the location was on the river. Wonderful view from our rooms. We love Port Fairy and every thing we wanted to do and see was in walking distance.
Location good for Port Fairy Folk Festival and town if you have bicycles which we did. Bit far out if not. Pet friendly which was important to us. Double basin in bathroom useful. Fair amount of space for two families and nice big dining table
Beautiful Cottage on a property with animals and Fruit trees. Only 1 kilometer from the town of Port Fairy and all it has to offer. Very Hospitable hosts who provided lovely treats.
Cosy smaller caravan park. It was calm and quiet. Very clean facilities. It is located a couple of minutes' drive from Port Fairy. Definitely recommend for a peaceful night sleep.
Fabulous location. Easy walking distance to all areas of Port Fairy. Well set up with everything you needed. Plenty of information available regarding cottage and area.
Lovely spacious, comfortable and well equipped apartment.. close to shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.. a perfect base in Port Fairy to explore local and nearby towns
