Bathroom very basic. Tiny bath like something from a 1970’s hotel. Shower was over bath with very basic shower attachment. Very noisy. Bad sound proofing between rooms. Way too expensive. Was expecting a more upmarket hotel. Great location though.

Welcoming Galway is a small city with fantastic nightlife and an infectious atmosphere. Outside of the Galway Arts Festival, there’s still plenty of live music in the Irish pubs to get the party started.
The Galway Races at Ballybrit Race Course west of Galway Airport attract a good crowd, as does Eyre Square, a green space with flags of previous ruling families who gave it its nickname - City of Tribes. To the south are cobbled streets housing brightly coloured shops and restaurants.
Sights in Galway include its cathedral and city museum which offers an interesting insight into the history of the city and Ireland. Lynch’s Castle is the last remaining 17th-century merchant house, and the Spanish Arch is a small section of city walls by the Corrib River, linking Galway Bay to huge Loch Corrib. Where river and ocean meet is Claddagh Park, a great spot for a picnic with a view.
Further around the coast is Salthill Promenade, home to Atlantaquaria, Ireland’s national aquarium, focussing on sealife off Irish shores. It’s a Christmas Day tradition to jump from Blackrock Diving Tower nearby into the icy Atlantic Ocean, though you may well spot some wag giving it a go.

Lovely family holiday in Spiddal where some of my in-laws family lived. Galway is so lovely but did not get to enjoy the city this time around. We did however come in the city to do the Corrib River boat cruise which was thoroughly enjoyable. Had a lovely coffee and cannoli at Bar Italia Ciarlantini while waiting to board the ferry.

Very friendly and helpful staff and we received an upgrade on arrival. Room was very clean and tidy. Plenty of towels in the bathroom and even a bath with our shower. Evening meal was excellent at a very reasonable cost . Breakfast buffet was exceptional with a vast verity to choose from including vegetarian. There was a public bus stop just outside the wall of the the hotel going in and out of town every day mostly every 30 minutes. It’s only a 20 minutes casual walk in a straight line so very convenient for a bit of exercise, will be staying there again soon, everything was excellent

First of all, it is the people who make Galway special.
First of all, it is the people who make Galway special. In addition, we liked being able to walk everywhere in Galway. We enjoyed walking along the river and the bay, and sitting on the wall along the water at the harbor. Galway Museum at Spanish Arch was enlightening. Streets restricted to pedestrians made it safe and easy to stroll and browse as we passed by uplifting live music. There were so many pubs and restaurants serving every type of food that you may want. The ice cream and gelato shops, Gourmet Tarts, Butler's Chocolates, and Farmers' Market had special treats to enjoy. The Galway Bay Seafood Chowder at Blakes on Quay Street was the best chowder I've ever had in my life, and I've always liked chowder. Aran Sweater Market shipped my purchase of sweaters and hat home for me with quick, courteous and efficient service. Loved the humor of the local people whom we met while strolling in the neighborhoods. One caution, don't let something go by thinking that you will pick up a last minute item in the morning before leaving Galway to catch the train or a bus as this is the time the shops are closed for deliveries of new supplies. Glad I did what I wanted to do from the moment I arrived because there is so much to see and do!

I loved the hop on and off tour bus which we took up to salthill and back. The whole journey was narated, history unfolded I loved the traditional music in Taffees. We didn't have a bad meal wherever went . The architecture and history of galway is both beautiful and amazing. Our hotel was right next to the main train and bus station so ready access to main routes to airports and ferries etc. Local buses make getting around Galway very easy

The staff was incredible - my mom is new to traveling and older, and they treated her with such kindness and care. Answered all her questions, and took care of her every need. Location was also phenomenal. Exactly where you would want to be. It is not the grand hotel experience that you might expect with a 4 star hotel in the sense it is smaller and boutique, but by far one of the best stays of our trip to Ireland. Amazing ambiance and local feel. Wonderful staff. Comfy and clean. Would recommend to anyone and will stay again!
It is very close to the city centre. I was warmly received by the woman at the reception desk. I always judge a country or hotel from the point of entrance/reception desk. The hotel environment- room, corridors, canteen kitchen, and toilet, hotel walls, and ceiling meet the quality and health and safety standards of HSA. Fresh and non-fresh food storage also meets food safety standards as required by the Irish and EU regulations. Healthy surrounding environment. It is like a home, very clean and comfortable.
Location was exceptional - perfectly positioned between Salthill and the city centre. The hostel decor is gorgeous and everything appears handcrafted. Bedding was hotel quality and that lovely hotel squeaky clean feel! Rosie on reception was so lovely, especially to my children. Breakfast was perfect and a lovely relaxing playlist on in the background- a lovely touch. Excellent value for a family
Host was absolutely lovely and helpful with tips for the city. Amazing cook- the breakfast was delicious and she made a lovely spread every morning and was impossibly quick as well. Impeccably clean, warm rooms, soft comfy bed, hot shower. Great location near the town center and within walking distance of incredible restaurants. Truly one of the best stays I had in my travels through Ireland.
My room was everything I needed, and was very cosy and homely. All of the staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful, and the breakfast service was wonderful. The dining room in the sun room was so beautiful too!! The location was great - less than a 10 min walk to the city centre, and it's a very pretty walk too. I would absolutely stay here again if I come back to Galway! Thank you!!!
A beautiful 200 year old hotel - well renovated. The included breakfast was the best we had on our two week trip to Ireland. The location was great. The booking.com rate was fantastic. Our room was small, the beds were on rollers and it was hot with no ventilation. Avoid rooms between 325-328 - they are in an odd spot of the building and no breeze through the small window.
The owners are very nice and helpful, the breakfast was amazing. The rooms are very quiet. Walking Distance (about 15 min.) from Salt Hill village Center, with good restaurants and the unique bar "O Connors". There's a bus to Galway City centre every 30 Minutes, you reach the next bus stop in 3 min walking distance. We would definitely stay here again! :)
Very friendly staff over our stay with great service. We dined in the hotel both nights and the food was fantastic with a great menu. Our room had loads of space to store our motorbike gear and the bathroom had a great shower which was powerful and hot.
Location was very good also as the bus stop is right outside and we got the bus to the city center
The hotel is recently renovated and very clean. Easy access to the city center.
What is exceptional for us; was the treatment of the staff in special the receptionist Maria and the General Manager Seamus. They were absolutely amazing, helpful and excellent professionals. For sure makes a huge difference to have those people around.
The location could not have been easier in the middle of the city center. The access to the parking the hotel without having to park in a public garage made our arrival very easy and we wer able to access the car to do a day trip while we stayed there. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was so accomodating and friendly.
The location in the city center with parking was especially useful to make the best use of time during a short visit. The hotel itself was excellent as was the restaurant. The room was clean, comfortable and well supplied. Irish breakfast was great. The staff were faultless; efficient and friendly.
Very nice house hotel in beautiful area of Salthill. Near to the beach, about 45 minutes by foot to the city centre of Galway. We took the middle size room and it was pleasant for 2 people and 3 days. The facility was quite poor, but for 3 days completely fine. The best was very comfy large bed.
The hosts were amazing, meet us are the door and welcomed us in. The breakfast was the best we had the best we had the entire trip to Ireland! They were very accommodating and were great people to talk too.
It is walking distance to town center for pubs and entertainment.
Quiet and clean room, located outside Galway city center but close to Salthill Seapoint Promenade and Blackrock Beach. City center can be easily reached by bus (bus stop a few steps next to the hotel) or by a nice footwalk along the seaside
Single rooms for all family members, at the end of the trip to Ireland this was perfect. Lots of room for all eight of us.
Also, bus was very convenient for transport to Galway center. Staff was very helpful. Excellent stay.
I booked this hotel for my father, who was travelling with a friend. He very much enjoyed his stay. Great atmosphere, a warm welcome, perfect location with the city center nearby, ... Definitely would recommend.
The hotel has a nice location, near to the main roads and not so far from the city center. All the staff is attentive and nice. The room is comfy. The breakfast is ok.
