We found Vannes charming, even in winter. The medieval buildings are impressive and beautifully kept but fortunately the town is not over-run by tourism and retains a sense of its own identity. Its proximity to sites like Carnac is a big plus.

The best part of Vannes is the Golfe of Morbihan.
The best part of Vannes is the Golfe of Morbihan. We rented bikes (easy) at the dock and had a wonderful time on Ile-d-Arz. The ferries come/go frequently. The town center of Vannes has lovely places near the ramparts. The city itself is very busy with plenty of traffic.

Fantastic town with a nice vibe, good bars, restaurants and around every corner in Vannes was a super building or view, very impressed, also found the restaurants hidden down the side streets had really good food and a lot cheaper than the ones on the main routes .
We would avoid the hotel we stopped in as it was a good 20 minute walk away from the edge of the town through a couple of quite scary at night subways, no bus service into the town from the Kyriad Prestige Vannes of which we guess was rather more suited to the business community rather than tourist.
It also did not state that it was only 20 yards from a busy inter city rail line on one side and a very noisy road junction on the opposite side , although the room basic without a room safe, fridge or tea making resource the bed was comfortable and the bathroom excellent.
The hotel was also very clean, its only big bonus was large free car park

Beautiful historic old town. Easy to walk around.
Beautiful historic old town. Easy to walk around. Excellent shopping and choice of restaurants. Great place to explore the Gulf of Morbidan and peninsula. Loved the port area with all the moored boats.
A very nice apartment close to the walkable downtown, and harbor. The market takes place on Wed and Sat, and is just a few blocks away. A grocery is nearby and parking on the street is not too expensive as you only pay during certain daytime hours. Very comfy bed, great TV, and free washer and dryer is provided downstairs. A very well equipped kitchen. Vannes has such a nice walkable (no cars) shopping/restaurants area and it was great to be so close.
Very very stylish and in an amazing central location. It has everything needed for a few nights - all good quality and very spacious. The port and the old town and lots of places to eat very close by.
The host gave us some good advice for cycle rides and we had a lovely time cycling round the Golfe de Morbihan presque Vannes.
There’s lots of helpful information in the apartment and great WiFi.
This is an excellent hotel in Vannes. The location is good - near the train station (about 5 minute walk) - maybe a 10 minute walk into the centre of town. The room was lovely and clean - the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was a decent size.
The staff were particularly helpful - I needed some printing while I was there, and they did that for me.
Nice hotel, we did not try the spa, you can book a slot for 1 hour for free each day. There is a good bus route (5) into Vannes every 20 mins. We parked up the car (very good parking) and just used the bus €1.5 each each way great.
There are some nice restaurants within walking distance also Decathlon and le Clerq hypermarket.
Usual Ibis styles but with a very nice chap in charge. In fact all the staff were very good. Hotel has everything you need and perhaps a little more. You cant go wrong here, low price and yet everything was good. WiFi good as well which was important for doing all the Covid stuff.
We especially liked the location overlooking the estuary and its proximity to the main town centre of Vannes.
The swimming was safe and close by. The water was clean.
The breakfast was very good.
The main hotel reception staff were very attentive and pleasant.
We didn’t stY in the property as us fell very short of our standards. I would add it was clean though and proximity to the centre of Vannes is good albeit we had to walk past some questionable people in the immediate neighbourhood to get into town.
best location you can find for visiting vannes. it's in the old town right within the walls. the building itself is of old half-timbered construction, while the suite is completely up to date with all the modern comforts.
Hotel was beautiful. Location ideal, only a 20 minute walk to the centre of Vannes. Breakfast was exceptional, dinner not on offer but plenty of restaurants in Vannes. Rooms were spotlessly clean.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is a very short walk from the centre of Vannes, which is a great place to visit. Parking facilities at the hotel were an extra draw.
This vila hotel is real gem in vannes.
Located right next to the trsin station, quiet, surrounded with a lovely garden , parking , great hospitality and spA for who ever needs a treat.
The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was good. The hotel is just a short walk down to the centre of Vannes. The parking under the hotel is good and accessed by a lift.
