This was a really good place to stay! I expected "budget" accommodations because of the name, but the room was large and clean, with good lighting. The bed was large and comfortable, with big pillows. There were plenty of clean, good-quality towels. I was truly surprised at the quality of the room. And it was only a 2-minute walk from Lyon Part-Dieu Station. I was only there for one night but wished I had been staying longer.

I liked the friendliness of the reception, and the help offered to help me up the stairs. I liked the aesthetics of the place. Just very on point.
Everything was kind of bijou and what you needed.
The actual place kind of reminded me of London and people long passed who would engage me with stories of ‘Lyon’s Tea House’ pronounced ‘Lions’ so it was super touching. I had a pretty lengthy walk between the two stations, where I was to get a train to my next location. I felt the city had a very safe and peaceful feel, though of course one must be vigilant.
I thought the swimming pool looked amazing.

Lyon is a gastronomic centre with a pretty architectural façade ranging from antiquity to modern day. Place Bellecour is centrally located between the Saône and Rhône Rivers in the 2nd arrondissement and opens out into major shopping streets.
On the banks of the Saône lies the district of Vieux Lyon, a great example of the Renaissance and full of museums such as the Lyon History Museum. Winding your way through the beautiful streets you can make your way up to the spectacular white-stone Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière and look down over the city.
There is a lot going on in the main park of Lyon, Parc de la Tête d'Or, which is home to a zoo of exotic animals as well as various sports facilities and a large lake for boating. Boats of a different description are docked on the banks of the Rhône River; they host parties late into the night.
For a taste of tradition, Lyon’s famous bistros, or Bouchons Lyonnais, provide a cosy atmosphere for some of the best in French gastronomy. Plan your perfect holiday in one of Booking.com’s 130+ hotels, apartments or guest houses.

We were visiting Lyon to find the childhood home of my father - who
was born and lived there 1918-1925. We found the place he lived in, and had a meal at the nearest Cafe. Our concierge was very interested in telling us about how close the train station would have been to his home, and was interested in the fact that my paternal grandmother was a chef. He wanted to know where she worked in U.S. The city is very large, filled with history, and has all the things
one loves most about France.

I liked the Metro train because it moves very fast underground, and you reach your destination much quicker than when you use a normal Tram. I like that one can walk freely. I did not like that in most tourist areas people do not compromize to speak English so that we can atleast hear. I also liked the Church at the apex, First Catholic church, you can view lyon nicely from the church. I think going alone if you do not speak French is not advisable. I atleast had a frind who speaks French there.

Lyon city isn’t huge, and most the activity seems pretty centralized in just a couple areas. We didn’t venture outside the city. Our time there (6 days) felt just right, to get over jet lag and see the city sights.

Even after 4 days, we could not understand the working hours of most restaurants and the rules of arrival and service (i.e. kitchen not working at the moment (and its noon) or working but they are not able to serve two people now but in an hour, even though the restaurant obviously doesn't even have a third of its capacity full), but luckily there are restaurants that work all day and do not have time slots when they can serve you

We were very impressed with Lyon.
We were very impressed with Lyon. We enjoyed the history of the silk industry and discovering many of the traboules. Also how the amazing food culture including the bouchons, supported this industry. We enjoyed the culture in the old city including the beautiful art gallery and of course the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière.

Fascinating history of Resistance during WWII.
Fascinating history of Resistance during WWII. Beautiful city. Old Lyon was really special but super crowded. Walkable city. Many Michelin starred restaurants - we ate at Le Tiroir and it was fantastic. Not expensive either. 130 Euros for two.
We were at the end of our month visit to France and wanted to be close to Lyon airport for early departure ..
The location was good central to do a little shopping but super crowded city …..
The parking was extra fees which we weren’t expecting and expensive plus very limited
The hotel rates as 5 star which I disagree, its old world style is charming, but the furniture was banged up and needs refreshing not pristine plus it was a tiny room with no view
The worst was the air conditioning vent was extremely dusty and unhealthy
The location is perfect for transit from Netherland to south of France (you drive around 8-9 hours depending on traffic), it is very close to the highway so you don't spend much time crossing the city. It is close to a shopping mall thus we were able to find something to eat even on a Sunday afternoon.
The room was nice, clean and quiet.
The breakfast had many options including some vegan/vegetarian stuff ... still went for the croissantes and cheese :).
The price was unbelivable good considering the amazing location, as the hotel is located right next to a big roman theater and only a one minute walk away from Notre-Dame de Fourvière cathedral. From there you have a really nice view of the city. From there you can also take a cable car down to the base of the old town and the metro station Vieux Lyon, which gets you into the inner city very quickly. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Everything looks pretty recent. The rooms are stylish. We paid about €95 euros per night including breakfast for 2 people, which is pretty cheap for a hotel in the centre of lyon.
Great location, just a few minutes away from all the lovely restaurants. It's a very fair 3 star hotel with a great location. Staff was very friendly as well, providing us with an alternative parking garage close-by as their private parking was full.
Since we were departing from Gare Lyon Part-Dieu, we wanted a hotel that was close to the station. This Mercure hotel is literally adjacent to Gare Part-Dieu. The station is directly behind the Mercure. The price was reasonable for the location in Lyon. There is a nearby Tram and bus stop which provides easy public transportation into central Lyon or Vieux Lyon. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The hotel was in a good location for walking around the heart of Lyon. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The lobby was attractive. We reserved a parking spot (for additional cost) which was extremely valuable since we arrived around midnight, and parking on the street was challenging.
It is the one of the best 3 stars hotel. ( I think France has the best 3 stars hotels). Great location, even though the hotel restaurant was not open, they are good restaurants nearby, friendly staff, big and clean room. Very good breakfast. It was an overnight stop over trip, next time will stay longer
The hotel had an amazing location in the heart of Lyon. Very close to bars, restaurants and shopping. If you don't have a lot of time in Lyon this is a great spot to be. About 25 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from the train station. The hotel and room were comfortable and large for the price.
Great location - across the road from where the tram from the airport drops you off and also right next door to the station, so great if you're using Lyon as stop on a bigger France tour as I was. From there, it delivers exactly what you expect, nothing amazing but also no obvious downsides.
The location was close to the places we wanted to visit. Breakfast was nice, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. While there are a lot of stairs as in many places in France, there is an elevator to help get the luggage up (and people too, if you don’t want to use the stairs.)
I was in Paris before so the room size was completely different when I arrived at the hotel. The location is good, near to Tram station and lyon perrache and you can walk to the city centre and to the old town. The staffs also very helpful.
Super nice and clean hotel in Lyon. The staff was extremely pleasant and polite. Attention to detail. The room was very clean. The breakfast was a nice traditional French breakfast, quite pleasant to have in the living room.
Wonderful breakfast selection with an outdoor courtyard when the weather is nice. Comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. (Needed in Lyon in summer). Lots of good restaurants in the blocks surrounding the hotel.
Excellent location. Great value for the money. Easy access. If you want to visit old town of Lyon this hotel's location cannot be beaten. Right next to everything. Also very easy to reach from airport-train station.
Good price and good location, definitely not a 4-star hotel (France usually puts one star more than the hotels deserve), consider it a 3-star.
You can easily park for free on street in August.
Location was good. We saw most attractions of Lyon in a 4 hour walk starting from the theater Celestines in front of the hotel. Room size was good for France. The staff was kind and helpful.
Good sized comfortable room. Pleasant staff. Good, plentiful breakfast and two very good dinners. The location was perfect for us as we were journeying through France .
THE SHOWER WAS THE BEST THING IN THE ROOM ITS WAS THE BESTY HOTEL I STAYED IN LYON THE BREAK FAST WAS GOOD THE STAF OF RECEPTION WAS PERFECT THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING
