The town is entirely aimed at tourists and, as a result, while there are many decent restaurants, there are very few typical Italian trattorie and, unless you have a car, food shopping opportunities are limited. On a more positive note there are regular boats to other towns around the lake and Verona is only a fifteen minute train ride away. For those who like themeparks, Peschiera is very close to Gardaland (Italy's equivalent to Alton Towers)

Our trip was in November and just out of season so the lake Garda ferries had stopped and many attractions were closed mid-week The restaurants and shops were open and not too crowded which was a bonus. The lake shore was beautifully silent and tranquil a lovely place to walk and sit before a leisurely lunch

Oriana and her family were just lovely and spoke English...
Oriana and her family were just lovely and spoke English well enough to direct us on our short walk into town and call us taxis when required. They also helped out with a 2 pin plug for our mobiles which we forgot to bring, relief!! Orina helped out with Gardaland opening times and anything else we needed during our stay. The location was perfect , near the railway station, where you can also catch buses, and 10 mins into the town centre. Loads ristorantes around, we really enjoyed ourselves and gratefully for us Scots, the room had efficient air con. Lots of room, clean and modern. It's a lovely town with really good transport links on the train and ferry. We also visited Bardalino, Lazise and Sirimone, I found all these town much more prettier than Peschiera del Garda and would stay in one of these places if I ever visited again. Sirimone was beautiful but really busy.

Only the fridge was too small for us. And there's no underroof parking so it may be a problem when you sit to the hot car. But the pool and morning coffee on the balcony is cool. The Mincio river and Garda lake are so close to the hotel and it's nice. Also shops are close enough (if you have transport). We didn't expect so much, wondered why it didn't have 4 stars (it's better than some 4 stars hotels we've been to!)
