Tutto Perfetto, soprattutto la pulizia impeccabile.
We came a day before our ferry trip to Split. In town, we liked the feel of this working city. We found different food then we had been eating which was fun and spent some time in the square. We ate greek gyros and hamburgers which were a nice change up from pasta and pizza.Next time I come for a ferry I would either go to the ferry ticket office to pick up copies of my ticket as soon as I got off the train (it is close by). If I am staying in a hotel, I would go to the port, find the 20 bus to take you to get your tickets and then return on the bus. The walk to the ticket center from town was difficult and at times without sidewalks.

None of my American friends have ever heard if Ancona, but I'd go back in a heartbeat. It's an important port city and is surprisingly picturesque. There's lots of variety - the harbor, the beach the churches on hills, lively palazzi, many restaurants. And so much history. Renting a bike is a great way to get around given many historical sites are on very steep hills.

Ancona may not be an obvious holiday destination, but there's a scruffy charm to it that I like, and there's enough to do here for a couple of days. It's also a good base from which to explore the Marche region of Italy - I used trains and buses to do full-day and half-day trips to numerous interesting towns during my ten-night. (Smaller villages would require a car.)

Ancona in winter is not a tourist destination, but for those who want to experience small town Italy it has much to offer. I would recommend a visit if you are already familiar with the country. The tourist office map has 4 walks which take you around the centre. The Mole has a wonderful museum where blind, partially sighted and curious people can touch all the sculpture casts. Ancona is well connected by bus and train. The Friday market was fascinating.

Very interesting port city with a charming, historic old town. View from the cathedral perched on one promontory is magnificent… and the walk back down through the ancient streets is interesting: friendly people, good and some great restaurants serving local specialties. The Marche wines from the area are a joy to discover.

We used Ancona as an overnight stay to break up a long train ride, in hindsight we would have kept travelling to our destination. Ancona harbour and old town are worth a visit, especially the Centro old part. Our accommodation was some 30 minutes walk from Centro, the walk took in some lovely views, although steep in parts. Our accommodation was only 10 minutes walk from the train station and was quite ok to stay in, the breakfast was very nice.
The place feels like an old-timey hotel but in a good way. The room is very clean and comfortable. There is a small fridge that I appreciate. Toiletries were provided (liquid soap/shampoo, solid soap, and shower cap), and there were plenty of towels. The reception was very nice and helpful. The location is just so great, just a short walk to the beach and not very far from the bus stop. The room is very quiet and I slept really well.
This property has an interesting history and a fabulous location. The hotel, restaurant and grounds are well-maintained. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed and the beds are comfortable. The shower was large and there was plenty of hot water and water pressure. The patio is a lovely place to sip coffee in the morning or an aperitivo in the afternoon. The grounds are peaceful. There’s a lovely beach nearby.
It was a really good hotel with a delicious breakfast and fabulous customer service. The breakfast staff were attentive and super friendly.
The room was cleaned in between our stay and honestly, it was like walking in to a new room- very clean. Everyone was friendly and made our stay very comfortable. The local beach is only 10 minutes walk which is a great asset to the accommodation.
A great find in pretty Ancona. Bang in front of the port, the Grand Hotel Palace lives up its flamboyant name. The place is tastefully refurbished, the common areas are welcoming and the rooms elegant and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and exceedingly helpful staff (top marks for Emiliano). On site parking is available.
It’s close enough from the port, we came from Italy by ferry and arrived 6 hours earlier than the check-in our, but they accomodated us imediately. The train station is across the hotel. Everything is new in the hotel, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff is very sympathetic and professional.
One of the best hotel experiences we have had in years. The room was clean and large with a lovely view. The staff was friendly and helpful. We greatly appreciated the valet, complimentary mini bar, and the gym. The location is perfect and the surrounding city is very charming. Highly recommend.
The old fashion but modern feeling of the hotel . The reception staff were very helpful and friendly . Help us with an early check in and taxi to railway station . The pool was terrific as the beach was not close to the accommodation . The quality of the bed linen and bedding was excellent .
Amazing host who offered to pick us up from the airport as our flight was delayed and we arrived very late. As we wanted to explore Ancona and the Marche region, he gave us addresses and pin locations of best places, beaches, and restaurants. Accommodation as described.
This place, perched over Portonovo with incredible views from every single room, has style to spare. The breakfast is sumptuous, and the restaurant serves excellent local cuisine. The staff go above and beyond. And the hotel is pure elegance. I felt lucky I'd found it.
Our rooms had view over the harbour. Breakfast was on the terracce outside with view over harbour.
The hotel is near the old city center. There is a parking service (it is not easy to find a parkingspace in Ancona
The room was larger than expected. The bed super comfortable. Very clean and awesome views. Really friendly staff and a great breakfast selection. I love this hotel and I always come back. Will return again!!
Very friendly staff. Comfortable accomodations. Good location. Great value for money. After returning from several nights in 4 star hotels we were quite happy with this budget accommodaton.
A beautiful house, lovely room, good restaurant and very helpful staff… best of all it was 10 minutes from Ancona port but felt miles away in terms of peace and quiet… we will return!
We were traveling with our 6 month old granddaughter. The hotel staff was very accommodating. Can’t say enough about their excellent service. Also beautiful location.
