The greatest triumph of city planning is the Turia River Park. Created on the bed of a redirected river, it provides much-needed shade in a city with an impressive sunshine record. Of course, you can always cool down on the fantastic beaches, lapped by warm Mediterranean waters.
Former hosts of the European Grand Prix, Valencians take their sport seriously and so they should. Try to take in a match at the 75000-seater Valencia FC stadium to experience the electric atmosphere.
As Spain’s 3rd largest city, Valencia has wild nightlife, so if that’s your cup of tea, city centre hostels are a great choice. Alternatively, Booking.com also offers guest houses, central apartments and even hotels near Valencia Airport.

It’s a lovely city, architecture stunning. Enjoyed the hop on hop off city bus tour. Had to walk a fair distance through run down areas before we got to the better part of the old town. Didn’t have time to visit the aquarium - a must for our next visit.

Parc Gulliver was a hit with the kids Turia gardens are lovely Public transport very cheap (40 cents per journey with a SUMA-10 travel card) and plentiful The old town was atmospheric without being twee Felt like a less tourist-choked version of Barcelona We ate paella at La Paz at Playa de las Arenas - very tasty

It is not the cheapest hotel in town, but this is well balanced with location and level of comfort. Nice bar downstairs. I would recommend this hotel.

In Valencia taxis are astonishingly cheap and you can get anywhere by taxi or public transport.

Also, the toaster made our electricity went out, and when we asked for assistance, they just came up in only 1 minute and replaced our toaster in 5 minutes. Our experience in Valencia was much better with the Urban Flat Apartments.
