A lovely place and a great area. You can travel very easily from Torquay to rest of Torbay - especially Paignton and Brixham. Also Dartmouth is great and Dartmoor is also very close.
People are very helpful and welcoming.

The harbour area and beachfront are great for relaxing and walking to Babbacombe and Cockington village and also to Paignton. There were also lots of buses as an alternative. Views are fantastic from the front. Torquay town is typical of most towns these days and has a few people sleeping rough. Just a few shops not found elsewhere.

Torquay is a faded gem.
Torquay is a faded gem. Sadly the area lost the many well-paid jobs in technology which, coupled with the loss of domestic holidays to the mediterranean resorts, cost it dear. The area is now run-down, but there are many attractions still available. It's well worth a visit (I would say that, I lived there for ten years and enjoyed it greatly), as it's a unique corner of the UK!

If you like drinking and being a general yahoo in the streets then Torquay would be the ideal location for you. Definitely don’t recommend driving your car, as you’ll need to walk miles to get to it.
Overrated, with no class to it at all.

Torquay beach 100m over a footbridge avoiding traffic. 10 minute walk to harbour and town center. Plenty of room inside and out. Breakfirst choice should cater for 99% of people. Would have extended my stay but they were fully booked. great place to stay if you want to enjoy visiting Dartmouth, Totness, etc; etc;
I live abroad but my family are in Torquay, so I visit often and have stayed in many hotels/guesthouses in the area. This is by far my favourite! Everything was thought of and nothing was too much for the lovely owners, who stayed up late for my arrival after my flight was delayed, ensured the room was ready and spotless, and replenished the tea/coffee/biscuits daily. The entire guesthouse was immaculate and so cosy- it really felt like a home from home. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there!
The Villa Marina was in a very good location and nice walk into Torquay.
On arrival we were welcomed by the lovely Erwan who provided us towels as we where a little wet from the rain. Checked us in and gave us a map on various places to visit.
Loved the personalised touches in the rooms.
Breakfast was delicious.
Vincent and Erwan are so friendly and made our stay very enjoyable.
Highly recommended and will be back.
Thanks x

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions while enjoying a weekend in Torquay. It is close to the town and harbour and the side door on the hill is a great save when returning back to the hotel after a night out. Staff are helpful and pleasant, the rooms are lovely and clean and the bed was fabulous and big. The complimentary breakfast has plenty of choice and lovely and fresh
The staff are so polite and accomodating. Me and my boyfriend have been staying in hotels in Torquay for a few weeks now and this one has been our favorite. The location is brilliant and quite yet close enough to the center to walk in a few mins. The staff helped with all my queries and treated us amazingly. Would 💯 recommend to anyone thinking about staying. Thank you Burlington hotel.
Location is quite good, 15 mins walk to centre. Ok, the hotel is old, but it was clean. Beddings and towels are perfectly clean, the bed was very comfortable. They accept dogs. No parking or dog fee as they mentioned previously which was great. Hotel room was very big. Suitable for families. Other hotels are double priced. For couple of days, great choice.
Lovely hotel in a fantastic central location just a short stroll to the sea front and despite many shops and restaurants being right on the doorstep it was still a lovely quiet location.
The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful and the breakfast we had both days was delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I was visiting Torquay.
This hotel is in the best part of Torquay. It's a quiet area with free on road parking nearby. It's close to a bus route. It's close to several small shopping areas. Some parts close or adjust their opening hours over winter. The hotel was warm and their bar is a comfy pleasant area. Standard of coffee in this hotel is ok.
I liked the proximity to the centre of Torquay and the views.
The breakfast and staff was good and very efficient.
The room was clean and all was as stated on the description. The hotel needs an upgrade and painting all over!
The reception staff were efficient and the lobby area was as expected for a four star property.
Hotel was spotless facilities excellent and the room was spotless too excellent shower.great for parking and the location was about a 3 minutes from the harbor and bars and 5 minutes to the town centre. The owners were very nice and pleasant. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Liz and Paul were lovely host. They were friendly and offered lots of information about what Torquay had to offer so we could get the best out of our stay.
The room was clean and spacious. The hotel was within close proximity to the beach and town centre.
The hotel is perfect. We had a spacious family room with an amazing view over Torquay Bay. The breakfast was fantastic, and the staff were so helpful with my gluten free diet. We will definitely be going back to stay in the near future.
Hotel within easy walking distance of Torquay harbour. Chris and Chen were excellent hosts making you welcome and providing a lovely breakfast. Our room ( No 2) was spotless with a very comfortable bed
The view and access to the sea had to be the best value for money with location and views won us over for the cheapest avaliable hotel at the time we were over impressed with it a*
We loved our stay. The hotel is in a great location with good access to the South Devon coastal areas and beyond. Comfortable bed, great host and a delicious breakfast.
Central location torquay. Parking at nearby multi storey at good price through hotel. Lovely harbour facing room great breakfast. Will definitely book again 😁
