We had an enjoyable week here, a good place for a quieter stay in Malta. The guest house is just off the promenade which is full of cafes and restaurants, but is very peaceful (apart from church bells, but I rather like those). Our room was on the top floor and had a small balcony from which you can stand and see the harbour at the side. There is also a larger terrace with tables and chairs for everyone to use with a view of the top of the church which is great for breakfast and to sit in the evening. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, breakfast had a good selection of cereals, bread, cakes, fruit, cheese and cold meat.

Beautiful, quaint, authentic fishing town. Great restaurants and fun Sunday fish market. You have to stay here to really appreciate it and have a car for exploring the area sights. Only 15 minutes to Valletta.

Marsaxlokk is a very nice area that is perfect for anyone who would like a very relaxed holiday. There are lots of cafes and restaurants to choose from. We ate at a different one every day so I can honestly say there isn’t a bad restaurant or takeaway there. There is a big market on Sundays with lots to see and buy but there are also smaller markets nearly every day. Marsaxlokk is also a great central location if you want to visit some of the popular attractions on the Island as none of the attractions are no more than 10-30min Uber ride away. This is a perfect place to base yourself for a vacation in Malta. Marsaxlokk is a pretty fishing village with a great Sunday market and lots of quality restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying here rather than one of the resort towns such at St Paul's or St Julian's.

This is a charming traditional fishing village, most people eat fish which is locally caught. The harbour front is used for a daily market and is transformed at night with most restaurants having tables on the waterfront. There are regular bus services to the capital Valetta, this takes around an hour at busy times, but 35 minutes when quiet. The buses also run to the airport. The town is served by a large Spar supermarket and scattered shops selling food drink, bottled water (essential as the tap water is chlorinated and not drinkable) Do visit the Sunday market, great value for money. The pavements can be uneven. The people are friendly and helpful. Our favourite restaurant was Roots on the seafront, prices were reasonable and the fish freshly caught. Guest house is situated near Marsaxlokk waterfront where there are many restaurants, a market and also small beach areas and on a main bus route to easily reach different parts of island. An ideal base. Highly recommend and personally look forward to visiting again.
