What great hosts Giovanni and his family were! Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent and served to the table. Cheese, ham, yogurts, cereals, fresh fruit, choice of juices, choice of coffee/tea and eggs however you like them.... followed by wonderful fresh cake. Rooms are very comfortable and all have a great view of the ocean. Our room, (Room number 1, first floor) has a lovely lounge area between the bedroom and the large balcony. The bathroom had a walk-in shower with good water pressure and good constant temperature. Beds were very comfortable. Our friends had room 10 2nd floor -again a lovely room with an even larger balcony, but no lounge area. We were all very happy with our rooms.
There is also a lovely roof terrace on the roof with sunbeds. Showers were in the process of being installed there, but were not yet ready for use.
Although the hotel is outside of Positano on the coast road we actually quite liked this as we were away from the crowds in Positano. Giovanni was happy to shuttle us into town when we needed it, so it was no problem. Also, we used the local restaurants own transfer service for ferrying us to and from a great restaurant one evening.
The Buca Di Bacco is set just above Positano's Marina Grande, framed by rocky hills and a sandy beach.

Room has amazing view and terrace / Balcony. Service staff were amazing . In particular Christian at the Remmese noticed I had booked a boat pick-up at the hotel pier but there were no little boats to take us to the bigger boat and he booked a private little boat for us to connect. He spoke Italian to our boat operator for us, making life so much easier ! He is really kind and anticipated our needs. Very grateful .

Room was clean and had everything we needed for a budget stay. No view, but the little balcony helped us wash clothes. Good size, strong shower. Location was good but a little further from the centre than anticipated - take your time on the stairs, there's more than you think! The absolute best part of this place was the view from the bar / restaurant area. We enjoyed a bottle of wine waiting to check in and it was beautiful. A special breakfast the next morning which I'll remember. V friendly staff!

Positano is definitely great for the traveler who is interested in taking gorgeous photos and picturesque views. It is also great for exercise as there is no shortage of stairs and walking trails to get from place to place. The town of Positano is quite small and very walkable from one end to the other and getting to other towns on the Amalfi Coast is very easy using the ferry. However, the Amalfi Coast in general is very expensive and overall the food scene is quite mediocre. The best meals we had were at Mediterraneo and Lo Guarrancino. Also the fried squash blossoms at Cafe Positano were surprisingly very good. Everywhere else we ate in Positano was just okay or bad. My stay was 5 days but I would recommend no more than 3 days for future travelers.

Stunning views unlike any other place.
Stunning views unlike any other place. Definitely recommend Positano as a base for your Amalfi vacation as it is in the center of everything and make other excursions easily accessible and so fun to explore after the day trippers are gone.

The beauty of the town is unreal, but it is built on steep hillsides which means that narrow roads and switch backs are not recommended for the unseasoned driver not used to such terrain. If you're not in shape when you get there, you will be by time you leave. There are many, many, many steps and paths around the town. It's very picturesque but also very demanding physically. Probably not the best town for the elderly or those with physical challenges. Taxi's are the best mode of transportation though there is a good local bus system however, busses only come by hourly, and because of the congrestion they are rarely on time.

The views of Positano are amazing .
The views of Positano are amazing . Everyone is really friendly and the food amazing . You need to be fit to get up and down the hills and steps. There were 3 really good restaurants very close to Florida residence and they were all good but our favourite was Saraceno D’oro had the most amazing pizza and lasagne and the staff were all really good

One of the most stunning places I've ever visited.
One of the most stunning places I've ever visited. Relatively unspoilt as it's difficult to reach and very expensive. Felt like an exclusive holiday location. Colourful buildings springing out of the hills, beautiful climate and STUNNING flora and fauna. All in all, one feels like one has been dropped into paradise on earth. Visiting in April is to be recommended as it feels neither too hot nor too crowded. I can't sing its praises enough. Travelling can be tricky if you have older people in your party - almost every route around the town involves steep steps. Spoilt for choice in terms of eating - we didn't have a bad meal. Shout out to Il Capitano (higher end) and Il Fornillo (slightly more reasonably priced). Recommend day trips to Pompeii and Vesuvius, the Amalfi coast (from Positano to Maiori), boat trip to Capri and Anacapri, and Sorrento.

Positano is absolutely amazing, but be ready to walk a lot...
Positano is absolutely amazing, but be ready to walk a lot of stairs, on very very steep trails. Respectfully, this place is not ideal for unfit people. Depending if you’re staying close the beach or on the upper side of the city, you will either have to take the stairs with your luggage or get a taxi, which is not cheap there.
There are a lot of good restaurants to choose from, and also very affordable, even though the city is rated to be quite expensive.
The beach is relatively small, so don’t expect to find a spot to lay down on the sand if you’re travelling during the summer season. As we visited in march, the weather was 10-18 degrees Celsius, which was prefect, also we avoided the crowds and the Mediterranean summer heat of June-August.
The location was perfect as it was a short walk from the best restaurants in Positano, central area, ferry terminal and beaches. Amalia, Agnello and the team were really friendly and provided 5 star service! The beds very really comfortable, we had our own private terrace to enjoy the beautiful views of Positano. We loved the breakfast on the terrace and if you’re an animal lover, Pepeta the 18 year old cat is absolutely loveable ❤️ We highly recommend this accomodation to anyone visiting Positano and we will definitely be back!
The hotel is in the center of Positano, in the main street, which makes it very easy to access when staying there. It is in excellent condition, very well maintained and pristine clean. The staff is professional, friendly, courteous, and helpful, they do their best to ensure your stay is unforgettable. They all speak good English, which is a great advantage.
The view is spectacular and breakfast is taken to your room at a time you select, which you can enjoy in the balcony while looking out at the beautiful view.
The location is amazing right on the edge of town with the best view (5 min walk to the busiest part of positano). The hotel has a private beach with sun loungers free of charge which is next to a beach club with a good vibe serving nice cocktails. It also has swimming pool facilities, the restaurant food is exceptional (although hot breakfast options could have been better), lovely wine selection and nice spacious rooms (with jacuzzi bath). Team are very sweet too. Parking cost is also reasonable and onsite.
I loved everything about the property. From the aperitivo terrace, the restaurant, the coffee, the room and it’s balcony, the overall service of the staff including Rosita who brings so much happiness to the hotel with her disposition and helpfulness, to the pool, and overall grounds. The location is stellar! Also, they are pretty much able to organize anything you need. I don’t understand how the hotel isn’t 5 stars. It’s better than some 5 stars hotels I’ve stayed in :)
We stayed here for our honeymoon for 4 nights, and it is absolutely stunning! The complimentary breakfast was incredible every morning while overlooking all the colors and energy of Positano. The terrace was our favorite spot with the ocean and cliff views - and live music on Mon/Wed/Fri from 7:30pm until Midnight. Hotel Poseidon is in a great central location (walking distance to everything in Positano) and close to a shortcut of steps to the beaches below.
- great location (not in the upper hills of Positano, easier to reach)
- amazing view, we are in love
- big rooms
- comfortable
- very clean
- helpful, friendly and kind staff
- best breakfast in italy (you can choose what you want one day earlier from the sheet they give to you) many options: both savory and sweet, very enough to make you feel full and satisfied with good quality
- central location but very silent to sleep
Amazing stay at Hotel Poseidon for our honeymoon - we checked in the day after our wedding and had the most amazing stay. The staff were exceptional and the service throughout our stay was top class. We were upgraded to a suite with fantastic views across Positano and also received a lovely welcome bottle of Prosecco. The restaurant was exceptional and one of the best meals we had on the Amalfi coast.
The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous views, exquisite garden, best restaurant in Positano, private beach and an enchanting walkway to get to the main beach. quietly tucked away from the hustle of the city center. The staff was extremely kind and always helpful. It is a piece of paradise. I will be definitely returning.
Everything about this hotel is amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special for my wedding. The breakfast was the best I had while in Italy! The location couldn’t have been any better with everything only a 5-10 minute walk away. I will only stay at this hotel when visiting Positano again! Thank you for an amazing experience :)
Amazing experience. Rose the host was wonderful, she did the check in as soon as we get there, 1 hour earlier. She was always there serving everyone. Hotel was in front of the beach, probably the best located in Positano, much better than La Sirenuse for example. Room was very nice, big fridge and nice toilet. Very recommended.
The view was breath taking! The breakfast area overlooks all of Positano- great for photos! There are also two other rooftop decks for beautiful sunset photos. The brunch was exceptional and the service was 5 star! We were very happy with our choice of hotel and it was our favorite of our whole trip.
Location was perfect, right on the beach! By far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Very clean, the maid service was exceptional. They also provide a beach bag with towels. The restaurant was also the best in Positano. Staff was amazing. Would definitely come back and recommend!
This hotel is by far the best value for money you will get located in the heart of Positano with a breathtaking view of the Positano hillside as well as the beach. Giuseppe, the hotel manager was also very kind and welcoming, and always made sure all our needs were met.
This boutique hotel has literally the best location as it sits about 150 meters away from a small and quiet beach, and away from the busier center of Positano.
It also offers an amazing view of the beach and sea and rooms are bright and nicely furnished and decorated.
Antonio was a great host, he was very helpful while explaining all the details regarding the hotel itself and also recommended the best places to eat and drink. The apartment had the great view and it was very close to the Positano center. We will surely come back! <3
Perfect place to stay, very clean and comfortable. We had the best views looking over the ocean and Positano.
The restaurant was very good, breakfasts were delicious, lots of variety. The staff at the hotel are very nice and willing to help with anything.
The views are exceptional! Tess was amazing! She provided some of the best breakfast I’ve had with staying at hotels. She arranged the porters for the luggage and the transportation to the villa! 5 stars and definitely will be back.
The staff was super helpful and nice at any occasion. Especially, the staff at breakfast was exceptional, 5 star hotel level. The location is great, central and easy to get there. The view from the balcony was stunning.
Without any doubt best place to stay in Positano, the stunning , the delicious breakfast, the warm hospitality.
I would recommend without any doubt this family owned hotel.
